Have you actually ridden it since the change over?
Three times, but I can thank my family for that.

Too bad you have hate for it. If you just let go of that hate its actually a fun attraction. I've had people tell me they hated it before going on it and not one hated it after. Oh sure they lamented on the change in theme but always stated how much they still enjoyed the ride itself.
Sometimes when Disney greedily destroys something awesome to replace it with something louder and more obnoxious (and for many, not nearly as good)... it's difficult to just ignore that aspect of it. This is sort of what happened with Epcot's Journey into Imagination.Too bad you have hate for it. If you just let go of that hate its actually a fun attraction. Allow yourself to have fun, it is a theme park after all...
Average person: I love DCA! GOTG is my favorite ride at the Disneyland Resort!Just turn off your brain and eat the popcorn. You're overthinking it. Just turn off your brain.
I agree with you, really. I wont question someone who likes it; I respect their decision. Everyone has a right to like it, I just don't enjoy it. My family loves it and I love my family. I just wont be the first to recommend going to DCA anymore.
I hate it for so many reasons, all of which are subjective and my opinion.
1, I don't care for Marvel. 2, the structure is hideous. Better looking in person, but still hideous. 3, ToT (although not the classic, original attraction) worked perfectly as a haunted elevator attraction, with a beautiful hotel lobby and charming backstory (I like it); Not a Warehouse Fortress PowerPlant. 4., the change comes at a time where other alterations are being made for advertisement purposes. Space Mountain didn't need a hyperspace overlay, but it got one anyway. For two years. Pixar Pier is putting lipstick on a pig. Stuff like that drives me crazy in a park known for it's quality. 5. The effects.. oh man the effects. ToT was projections, this is just a bunch of 4k televisions telling you a story. It's laughable to me. 6. It was Shoehorned plain and simple, and for that I consider it low in quality. The boiler room is almost exactly the same. 7. I don't like the songs played in the shaft. I mean I love music from the genre, but Hit me with your best shot? That's a facepalm for me. Only song I like is the Jackson 5 one.

I can still enjoy the rest of DCA and give Mission Sellout a no-thank-you. I votes with my feets.
And that is fine it is just not for you guys, just like ToT was not for others. Likes and tastes are highly subjective, and you can dislike something all you want. Provided of course you don't call out someone for liking something you don't like as "stupid" or "just don't understand theme park rules" etc....
It's a two-way street.

Me, an intellectual: DCA peaked in 2015.
It’s a relatively common internet meme. It was just a joke.Hint -- If you feel the need to refer to yourself as 'an intellectual,' you're doing it wrong... and you probably aren't one.

Im not a fan of MB but I don’t think only non-intellectual people can like it.Thanks for clarifying... I was on the verge of throwing up. Still I suspect the intention was the same, joke or not, eh?
My favorite "mind game" in Tower of Terror was the way they subliminally tricked riders in the beginning moments of the ride to think that the elevator would only move when the doors were closed, and that as long as the doors were open (or opening/closing) it was "safe." And then the first drop happened while the doors were just starting to close. The theme was way cooler before and the darkness in the elevator shaft, the anticipation of the dropping and the drops themselves made for a more thrilling and entertaining experience for me.
...and when it comes to Pixar Pier...so am I.
