Pandoran problems 4.25.18

For a new ride and ride system, Pandora has been doing outstandingly well.

It isn't 'deteriorating'. It's having issues with fire suppression systems which probably means shunting around power systems to fix it.
I disagree, if you think river journey being down for 3 days straight and flight of passage not being able to get all theaters running together consistently is outstandingly well I just don’t agree. I would say well, just not outstandingly well. Every ride is bound to have problems in the beginning though, these issues will probably be sorted out and in around a year from now or even less we will see the land in full action.

The more I think about this, the more absurd it is (and I thought it was pretty absurd *before* I thought about it.) If Disney wanted to save money by "breaking" an attraction, do you think they'd do it for FoP or Navi? Seriously? Maybe Primeval Whirl, or Kali, or Dinosaur - that would still be a stretch. But the newest and two most popular attractions in the park?

Do you have stock in a tin foil hat factory or something?
Work a bit harder at reading what I said. I did say they don't publicly rub their hands in glee when a ride goes down and guests are angry. I did not say they purposely break rides. I did say they're likely mollified by being able to cut manning on a broken ride.

It's ridiculous how fast Pandora is deteriorating. We'll be back in May and recently purchased an extra day strictly for first timers joining us, who may never return again after this trip. Hopefully Disney get everything operational and does it properly.

Pretty embarrassing and unfortunate for this to happen during AKs 20th. James Cameron needs to come in and get them into shape!

Cameron is more interested in throwing shade at Disney for releasing a bunch of successful Avengers movies in a short period of time.

Where's your information coming from that all four theaters haven't been running on a consistent basis?

Yea maybe I'm exaggerating a bit there. Wouldn't be the first time when I see stuff like this going on

I just put WDW on such a huge pedestal I expect a lot because years back, I was groomed to expect that from them. Especially a project of this magnitude that Jim Cameron is attached to.

Even if I'm going based on what I saw when I was there last, mixed with current issues. Water features were not working. Both NRJ and FOP broke down when we were there. We were stuck on both. Numerous lights we noticed were also not working. Many items we noticed had damage and chips to it. Obviously all the traffic Pandora gets will cause abuse but then aspects of the project should have been better thought out to avoid that.

We unfortunately see these things all across WDW, however.

Yes but...if the restaurant is on fire, most people don't complain about the whole reservation system being corrupt.

I don't think the whole fastpass system is corrupt. In fact, there are aspects I quite like. But, there are a few differences between this and the restaurant analogy. If a nice local steak house that we had reservations for that night burned down, there is no situation where I would turn to the wife and go, "Boy, if I had known the steak house was going to be set ablaze later today, we would've gotten up at 6 am to pound our filet mignons before the blaze and general restaurant crowds got out of control." Also, I would never say, "Dangnabbit, I know I should've invested more money in tickets that let us travel out of the steak zone to another area in the city for eats." Or, "Fred spent a lot of money to eat at this restaurant with us and now we can't eat anywhere else because we're already tied in to this restaurant."

As I was typing this, part of a solution that would satisfy most occurred to me. If a fastpass+ ride that you had a reservation for is down for more than 3 hours and it includes your window, let everyone who had a reservation for that ride book a fastpass+ reservation anywhere in the world whether or not they had a hopper. If you don't have a hopper, you obviously can't hop around after you change parks once, but if you could see "Soarin over the world" because NRJ or FoP was down all day, many would be quite happy. If it is just my nuclear family we're always in the AP situation, but by virtue of growing up down there, I've been in the situation many times where I've been travelling with a friend(s) or family member(s) who spent a lot of money for one day at WDW. Quite often they haven't been in years. I can understand the high levels of frustration in that situation.

I agree with the solution wholeheartedly.

Can you please let me know where the "steak zones" are? I want to be there.

I heard a word about there being problems with the screens & animatronic after power cut out sometime on the 25th. They must be replacing them or something if it's taking this long...
