That's a pretty obnoxious comment. Disney rides are pretty accommodating for nearly everyone and by many accounts FoP is turning away people who have never had problems on any other attraction.

Not trying to be mean, but is Flight of Passage more physiologically steneous than 7 Dwarves?

I don't understand the question. By no accounts is FoP the most strenuous ride at WDW, though probably a bit so than Mine Train. The issue is that Disney attractions fit nearly everyone, with Mine Train being an exception in that the lap bars are relatively constricting for some people with bigger legs. However, many accounts are saying FoP is turning people away who have never had a problem on a ride ever, let alone just at Disney. Apparently the issue is more in the leg restraints.

There's definitely conflict in Flight of Passage; it's in the middle of Star Tours and Soarin' in terms of the sense of danger, but, unlike both, there are moments of just sitting and taking in the view in both the middle and the end of the experience.
I've not been on the ride, but I'd guess the conflict comes in the form of a Great Leonopteryx arriving.

This is literally the spoiler thread lol.
... I'm an idiot. Lol. Yeah, that's one of the conflicts, but there's also a sequence centered around diving down from up in the floating mountains towards the ocean, and you almost get crushed by a giant wave. Lots of things that are not life threatening, but exciting in that mild sense of danger sense, like flying too close to a group of wild animals, narrowly diving between trees, etc.

If you do fastpass, you will miss everything except for the entryway ramps to the preshow. No Avatar in a tube, no high-tech lab, no forest. The outdoor queue (still technically in the land) is still present though. What's weird is that there's no barrier between single rider and fastpass for a LONG time. It's like Kali in the sense of them going "Well, we trust you, and we'll be scanning at the end".

I see your point and I kind of agree. But allow me to refute.

The thing with Soarin' and Flight of Passage is... and granted, I haven't ridden FoP... is that they're both rides in which you fly across fascinating landscapes. Neither has any real conflict. They're both intended to invoke similar emotions.
It's clear that the similarity extends beyond the ride system.

Haunted Mansion and Mermaid are both omnimovers, Star Tours and Body Wars are both cabin simulators (is there a technical term?), but the rides themselves are vastly different.
Whereas Soarin' and Flight of Passage are similar beyond the fact that they're both elevated simulators... at least, in my uneducated opinion. So I can see why comparisons are being made.

I see your arguement and id say if you are going to compare it to anything it should be Forbidden Journey USH...biggest difference is FJ is FoP on a moving track...both 3D....both on seated strapped in vehicles that have same axis of movement...both mild to intense simulated drops...both more private experiences than Soarin...

Id give you FoP is Soarin 8.0 and Shanghai Pirates is probably WDW Pirates 5.0

But it's built and nothing to do but enjoy it, and i hope you do

Am I reading correctly, there is only one animatronic in River Journey?

Unless I missed it, from the video posted on this site, this appears to be the case. I saw some characters and animals roaming on what appeared to be video screens.

I hope that there is a story behind the ride itself. From what I saw on the video, it seemed pretty underwhelming. 95% of the ride was just looking at all of the pretty neon lights.

The story is that you are floating down a river in a bioluminescent rainforest surrounded by incredibly beautiful sights. Why do you need more than that?

This obsession with storylines in modern attractions is concerning. Give me a slow moving experience-based dark ride any day. Y'all know that rides like Pirates and Haunted Mansion don't have stories either, right?

Yeesh. Yeah I am absolutely on board with pretty much any dark ride, and fine with slow and tranquil, but despite some nice aesthetics this looks utterly underwhelming, especially after all this time.

As for FoP, did they at least figure out a way to not see everyone else's feet dangling within view if you're not in the front row?

Flight of Passage doesn't work like Soarin'. Think more Simpsons.
