Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Not sure how folks can dislike Paint The Night, unless you are the type that also dislikes puppies and dancing and ice cream. :D

Well, since you mentioned it... ;)

PTN is good. But having the same parade at 3 different parks seems very "One Disney"-ish, not something I'd be in favor of, and something I can't see the suits approving. But, then again, little from Iger and Co. surprises me anymore.

Well the soundtrack is horrible, and the parade doesn't have the grandeur that SpectroMagic and the Main Street Electrical Parade had. So it's easy to dislike the parade. I hope to God when the time comes for a new parade for Magic Kingdom that it won't be anything like Paint The Night.

I would expect any PTN inspired parade coming to WDW would not be 100% identical to the Disneyland counterpart. Simply put, they've had successful animated movies since that debuted and Disney would likely want to take advantage.

Like Moana :), that could be a pretty cool PTN float.

If WDWs own entertainment team is in charge of the new parade I highly doubt it will be PTN. That's a Steve Davison parade. I personally would like to see what Jungs team can come up with for a light parade.

Everyone's been making comments about designing a new nighttime parade like it hasn't been confirmed countless times, dating back to the birth of this thread that TDO has the parade designed all they need is the check to fund it. Not saying that the new parade will necessarily be this one already designed, just wanted to bring this up.

Are you kidding?!? WDW doesn't make enough money and doesn't have enough customers to justify running a new night parade in the Magic Kingdom. Let's just wait for five years until 2021, then maybe TDO can use the 50th Anniversary to justify spending money on extravagance like that.

Of course, I'm kidding. It's obvious TDO doesn't think a night parade for Magic Kingdom is a priority, or needed anytime soon.

Or ever...

IF MSEP were to return back to WDW this year, next year, whatever, they should return the original music as well as the blue fairy somehow. Maybe WDWs original Blue fairy still exists somewhere, or they could probably easily build a new one. Also the dumbo circus floats if they are still around.

DL already cut Tink as the opening float and moved her behind Peter Pan. Also gone is the Pinocchio float. I assume the altered version would remain if MSEP did get back to WDW... hence why WDW should give it some new change/addition. Wishful thinking I know.

STUNNING! Love the new Cindy Unit! The dancers finally can move! Why they were "Frozen" in place for 16 years, IDK. Surprised that the 2001 Drum is still there and not upgraded with the new tech of PTN's Drum in DLR. Kind of disappointing that Snow White was retired, it was just 1 float!

What I don't understand is what TDL is doing to the old floats? IMO, they could be put to good use here in the US

Agreed! At this point even some hand me downs would be welcome over here.

I think TDL should keep the old floats especially knowing how expensive they had to be maintained at the US parks.

They basically strip the floats down so they are basically just a base with a drive chassis, that they can use for other parades, especially since they are often updating seasonal parades. Some decor elements from old floats can also be used for other floats for example.

This is a float from their previous daytime parade, if you look at the turntable Woody is sitting on you will find it appears in their previous Easter parade.

And although this is much rarer in Tokyo it still happens, sometimes a floats is redecorated to use in another parade. They did use a float from their old easter parade in their new one.
And sometimes other Disney Parks buy some floats to use in their parades.

A new Miceage Update has just arrived a few days before D23 Expo.

The Miceage crew is doubling down on their reporting that Paint The Night is moving over to Disney California Adventure, this time reporting the move will happen by Thanksgiving this year. Apparently a trip to WDW isn't so "inevitable" after all. http://micechat.com/166257-miceage-disneyland-rumor-update-bye-bye-buggies/

But then, anything can happen and anything can change.

Not gonna happen. WDW fans who wanted DLs PTN at WDW need to accept it's over and they are either stuck with MSEP or nothing at all until the 50th!

Honestly PTN Not going to WDW is a good thing, in the long run.. This means WDW will actually get their own parade!! And who knows it may even be a better version than Disneylands PTN, just like Disneylands version was better than Hong Kong's with extra floats.
