Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Not gonna lie i'm pretty sure Michael Colglaizer & Co. are laughing at the fact that they had such an awesome new parade and decided to bring back a crappy, old, outdated parade, knowing that people would flock in just to see it for nostalgia purposes.

Then after a while could bring back Paint the Night again and people will flock to see it again. Disneyland fans are so predictable, any time they need a quick attendance boost they can do something like that and never have any issues with attendance. How many times has the Electrical Parade glowed away forever now? It will be back...may be 5-10 years, but it will be back at some point. How many times has that Remember Dreams Come True Firework show come back now? Just rotate shows every few years and make a new one every 10 years or so. People will flock.
Yes, Nostalgia and honoring the past is such a horrible thing.

I think Disney should create a virtual reality for entertainment. Wouldn't it be cool to feel like your standing along the parade route watching SpectroMagic again? :). Disney could even build a attraction like this adding effects like a breeze, smells, etc.
Did you see DisneyVision VR?

And meanwhile, while everyone has their headsets on, one single ACTUAL parade float does pass by... the float is Mickey swimming in a giant, clear acrylic swimming pool filled with dollar bills symbolic of all the profit they made that day and surrounding this float are various costumed characters just flipping guests off as the parade float drives slowly by (or maybe less obscene [at least to American guests] the other characters could just be pointing with just one finger)...

I had a chance to talk to a parade exec before the Msep started last night and he said "As of right now there are no plans to bring paint the night back soon."

Dang... These hardcore disneyland locals get salty so easy. Just because you think DL is so perfect doesn't mean they don't move stuff time to time.. Why don't you ask them yourself if you are so special.

Did you really expect a Disney "parade exec" to say anything different, something that didn't toe the company line, particularly if he was on-stage? If so, then I have some land in southern Florida I'd like to sell you. I also have a bridge for sale in New York.

"Soon" = The next few months. What is the date of the "last" MSEP, August 20? :bored:

At this point I don't even care what happens to paint the night I hate how they can't make up there mind and freaking tell us what's happening for once and for all.

I'm pretty sure they've been clear that DL has MSEP now and will run PtN again. Internet fanboys being unable to accept that isn't Disney's fault. They have been unclear on specific dates but I'm not sure why that is getting folks on the WDW News and Rumors board bent out of shape.

They don't exactly have a great track record of announcing firm dates very far in advance. PTN did return for the holiday season last year, but it wasn't announced for sure until a couple weeks out.

Yep. I'm thinking Disney has said MSEP will go away. They gave one date and changed it to a different date, but that's the only official
wavering I've seen. I'm pretty sure they have sad PTN will run again at DLR.

So far we have absolutely nothing to indicate this isn't exactly what's happening.

Anybody remember 2010? We all though SM would be back after a cute little run of the MSEP. Look what happened! History will repeat itself. My hunch is MK gets PTN until late 2018 when they debut a new parade. Then PTN will go back to DL. Let's face it, WDW (based on how OLC has a market cap of 25 billion dollars with 2 parks and 3 deluxe hotels), is like 30-35% of Disney's 170 billion market cap. It is Disney's reliable cash cow! It only makes sense from a business standpoint to bring shiny stuff to it. DL on the other hand has lower margins and less attendance combined with lower long term potential bc of land. PTN is most likely heading to WDW. I also guess they will have 2 parade runs, the castle projection show, and a fireworks show each night just like we had with the MSEP a year ago. Nothing gets cut because it cost them money to "import" OUAT from Tokyo (as its a different show, shorter and slightly different. Maybe the length is reduced). If it's worth anything (99% sure no), I heard the PTN soundtrack playing at a Disney Store in Tampa. Most likely nothing, just throwing it out there.

The lack of a light parade would have a near unnoticeable effect on yearly WDW attendance. MK doesn't have a problem with attendance -- they've been raising prices, blacking out peak dates, and charging more for one-day tickets at peak times. IOW, they're discouraging attendance... and making more money anyway.

And now, they have two evening hub shows. Once Upon A Time tugs at the heartstrings of the nostalgiacs. And Happy Ever After is just totally kick-asp.

The whole point of nighttime entertainment is to keep people in the parks longer (and the spending more money). Not necessarily to draw attendance.

Aren't you making the point that the lack of an evening show (in this case, a night parade) will cause them to lose attendance?

Not necessarily. But I do think that HEA is doing a better job than Widhes at keeping people in (most likely bc it's new). It would only be better with a nighttime parade.

If Disney cares so much about their flagship resort, then why have they allowed them to be without a night parade for so long already?

Rather than treating WDW with the reverence and care one might expect at the flagship, what I see is them treating it more like an ATM.
