Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Well hey now slow down there mister grumpy cocktail! We learned that Ambassador Caitlin keeps a jar of pixie dust on her desk! She even has some from Tinker Bell herself!!!

It's still three hours away from Cocktail Hour here on the West Coast, and I only get grumpy if the Cocktail Hour passes me by and leaves me thirsty. :)

"Ambassador Caitlin" keeps a jar of pixie dust on her desk? Perfect, just perfect. Like you couldn't make up that type of corporate vomit if you tried. Even after the Cocktail Hour.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the DL-faithful still harbor a lot of nostalgia for MSEP. I could see it being a draw for their local AP base.

I'm a native Westcoaster and Disneyland AP'er (with a 20th century stint living on the East Coast and WDW regular). That nostalgia for MSEP would have been valid for a few years after the MSEP left Disneyland Resort in 2010, through about 2014. But when Paint The Night debuted in 2015 it set a brand new bar for what a light parade looks like four decades after Richard Nixon left the White House.

Compared to PTN, the MSEP just seems like a tired old relic from the past. The nostalgia factor is just not enough to salvage it now that folks have seen Paint The Night.

I missed PTN on my trip out west last year, but there seems to be strong dissenting voice on among users here who think the new parade missed the mark. I guess I just envision a warm welcome back, regardless of feelings towards PTN.

There's folks who don't feel Pixar characters belong in a parade on Main Street USA (but think Hercules, Simba, Roger Rabbit and Cinderella pose no thematic problems there), plus it has a Frozen float and that instantly makes it evil for some fans. As if you could force 25 Million annual Disneyland visitors to pretend it's still 1987 and that their modern favorites don't exist.

Hey kids, forget about Lightning McQueen and Elsa & Anna, how'd you like to see some Rescuers Down Under and Herbie Goes Bananas floats?!?

Meanwhile, 99.5% of Disneyland customers who don't have a spare bedroom dedicated to displaying their Disneyana collectibles love Paint The Night.

I don't quite follow the "doesn't fit in a castle park" criticism either. The soundtrack is fun, upbeat and an earworm...just like MSEP. The idea that Disney can only be grand and sweeping and not fun and energetic isn't one I ascribe to.

That and most WDW lovers want an original electrical parade ever since Spectromagic debuted and ended. I seen Spectromagic the most during the past trips unlike MSEP. It might have something to do with the soundtrack and the creative designs for the floats and what character would be in it and the finale is really beautiful with a cavalcade of classic Disney characters of the past all together while the floats changed colors in time with the music. It always tears me up when the colors turn white.

We know Spectromagic will never comeback, but I wish they could come up with a parade that beautiful again. This along with Wishes used to really fit for your final night at WDW especially since the characters appear to be waving goodbye to guests and very bittersweet for guests who went there as a "Once In A Life Time Opportunity". MSEP and especially PTN just don't feel the same.

In all honesty, whatever is happening, I just want Disney to make a statement. In any way this goes, it's gonna be a big deal. Paint the Night is extremely popular at this point, so no matter if it's going seasonal at Disneyland or moving to WDW or whatever, it's gonna be a huge deal, and a lot of people will be listening and waiting. The fact that Disney's delaying making any sort-of actual statement is incredibly troubling.

In my opinion it doesn't fit into castle park, the music is essentially a pop song and FoF is a great example where the music is still upbeat but not pop song like. And 3 of the movies are Pixar movies(technically 4 if you include finding Nemo) and fine with Pixar movies but not 3/4.

And weird side note but was Br'er Bear really popular in the 90s because he is randomly at the end of Spectromagic and in the Finale of DWs Fantasmic(He might be in DL one too but don't know.)

I'm over the Pixar thing. MK has Monsters and Toy Story attractions. Pixar is Disney now. It's just how it is.

In the early 90s they just didn't have as many miscellaneous characters as they do now to fill out things like parade finales, so you'd see less common characters a lot more than you do in newer shows/parades. The Brers fit the bill of easy to staff costumes that could be put into a finale at the time.

Br'er Fox was also in Spectromagic in the 90's but for some reason he didn't show up when the parade returned in 2001.

So basicly nobody knows anything at this point lol. I keep hearing talk from DL that PTN is not going anywhere and is returning for the Holidays.

I've had people I'd assume would know something actually asking me if I know anything. They've heard nothing. Above or below the radar. I told them what I said here. As of last weekend it wasn't happening.

If it does, it's a change of plan and a very much recent rushed decision.
That doesn't sound like Disney's approach to entertainment...
