I think the concept is awesome, I think the render is awful! I don't think it looks ugly necessarily it is just incredibly lazy. Put up some lights, recolor the bridge and put those towers on and rename any shops / change little details to include BH6 stuff. Done. As someone stated previously, Pacific Wharf looks more like Monterey than SF, if they really cared and wanted to give guests the absolute best experience they would demo / modify the buildings to look more SF / San Fransokyo like the movie.

This could all change or I could be wrong and they might knock it out of the park, but if they execute on the current design then I am not excited. Pacific Wharf was cute and charming in my opinion, hopefully the forced inclusion of IP doesn't kill the charm of the area.

Im a bit confused by what will be considered the bounds of this land as the former Napa Valley Area/ Blue Sky Cellar was swallowed up into Pacific Wharf during the 2012 redesign. Is that going away?

Was this always since Boudin arrived? Because it's been a long while since I had an NOS bowl but i recall them being the previous mediocre while the Boudin were delicious. Looked different too.
Honestly, I never buy the bread bowls at NOS, always at DCA. So I haven't really paid attention beyond the vague awareness that the one central bakery makes the bowls for both locations!

My big question is whether Ghirardelli will be staying.

Originally, Pacific Wharf was inspired by Cannery Row in Monterey. Boudin Bakery and Ghirardelli are San Francisco. They do make more thematic sense in a SanFran-inspired land. However, I personally do not see the need for theming a quick service district to an IP, unless an attraction is planned.

I can’t believe this was the biggest news (not best) we got from D23. We didn’t even hear anything on the Tarzan’s treehouse retheme, MMRR “enhancements,” or anything substantial on Tiana Mountain. But at least we got vague news on Tiana’s place that can scare us for the next two years until they announce where it’s going

I know I'm a bit late here, have been extremely busy with the new semester but man am I relieved I didn't wake up early on my weekend day to watch the Parks Panel, what a disaster / disappointment of a weekend. So initially hearing the idea of retheming Pacific Wharf to San Fransokyo I was excited because I love the aetshetic of BH6, actually, but the concept art is pathetic. Some lanterns hung up on the existing buildings, plus adding the tower parts of the bridge while leaving the sides of the bridge there, making the bridge look just wrong and cluttered. I get that's there for structural reasons but maybe a multi billion dollar company can afford to build a new bridge that actually looks good when they nickel and dime every customer in every division of their brand. Obviously not a new sentiment but this D23 really solidified how awful modern Disney is, my only silver lining is I saw even Disney bootlicker influencers who defend everything Disney does were actually criticizing the event. Disney truly believes their fans are stupid, but to a certain point they're right if they can get away with the crap they've been pumping out for years now and have seen nothing but success and growth of the parks.

At this point I just want to go back to Disneyland so I can experience all the classics and so my gf and I can try RotR for the first time, since I haven't been to GE at all but she went before the ride opened. Nothing new is even remotely interesting, I just want to visit Tokyo and other international parks and experience those places.

Also separate and random but why in the world did WDW create such a wonderful firework show, HEE, and then discontinue the show during the 50th celebration without a firework show, then add it back to the park when the celebration ended?
They didn't discontinue fireworks for the 50th, they made a new show that no one likes.

You are missing out; the lobster mac and cheese at Harbour Galley was one of the more surprisingly delicious meals I've had at the parks.

I wouldn't mind if they named the land San Fransokyo Wharf; as it is right now, it can totally double as a Fisherman's Wharf area so it's not out of the ordinary. Just anything to give the indication that this doesn't represent the entirety of San Fransokyo as it does in the movie.

I finally zoomed into the concept art.

It’s really just some Japanese lanterns and the Japanese-inspired Golden Gate Bridge, so far.😑 Hopefully we get to see more of what they’re trying to do here.
Don't forget replacing some of the logos on the side of the building with kanji! That's thematic integrity right there.

No
What are the odds of them actually doing this bridge? They can't even do the Tomorrowland entrance.
I see them putting up Chinese lanterns, renaming the restaurants and setting up a m&g in first room of the bakery.
It was probably drawn by the new college graduate who was trying to impress the higher-ups. They were desperate for things to show at D23 so they threw it in.
I've never noticed it open. I thought that block was just fake storefronts hiding offices.
The store is on Google maps and you can see some pics people have taken on the inside.
Ah yes the building that contains the crappy little store and the restrooms.
And D.J. Tanner.

Hahah as a kid I was more of Stephanie Tanner guy but as an adult DJ all the way.

Reminds me of a convo I had with one of my neighbors when I was like 10. We were having a debate on which “Kelly” was the hottest. Kelly Bundy from Married with Children. Kelly from Beverly Hills 90210. Or Kelly Capowski from Saved by the Bell. He said Bundy. I said Kelly from 90210. I think we were both wrong.

Oh ya forgot to ask. Dj Tanner in that building?

Literally everything I've ever tried at Harbour Galley has nauseated me. Including some of their lobster dishes. So I'll pass. lol But if that dish was anywhere else... sounds yum!

Sticking with regular mac n' cheese or seasonal soups in bread bowls at DCA. While I can!!!

Maybe Baymax will go in the old Seasons of the Vine theater?
Blue Sky Cellar is a little too far away from Pacific Wharf as it is right now to make thematic sense (I treat the Wine Country side as a separate district from the Cannery Row part), but I wouldn't necessarily mind that. I'd still rather see Baymax in the old Embarcadero Gifts space, though, to give that old gift shop some purpose again.
