I'm talking about ca version, it's rough as hell and I'm not a fan of the quick turns, I'm not sure how thr fl is right now but I hear it's pretty rough as well.

Perhaps you should stop riding roller coasters then. DL Space isn't rough in any sense of the word.

If any roller coaster at DLR is "rough", there's a better example in the same park. None are rough in the context of roller coasters in general.

If you don't like DL's Space, don't touch Florida's.

They’re adding rides to Pacific Wharf… but at what cost? At what cost?

A more generic “Silicon Valley” would have been better, but since mono-IP lands are the order of the day, this is what we get.

They're adding no rides but spending a fortune to IP a land for no benefit other than telling themselves that their IP is in the parks more and that's all that matters.

It took them five years to build and open Cars Land. Why is Tron taking this long? Is it partially due to the pandemic?

It actually took them two years and 11 months to build and open Cars Land.

The golden shovel ceremony was in July, 2009 and the land opened in its entirety in June, 2012.

What am I missing here? This Tron ride looks stupid. And it's only 60 seconds long.

I mean, sixty seconds might be okay for some folks who are desperate, but I always strive for a bit more.

Most motorcycle coasters are about a minute long. They are pretty old style coasters that rely on speed boasts to be thrilling. Looks like there are two speed boasts here. Disney's twist is guests are suppose to be looking at the geometry teacher's wet dream on the screens around them. I think it would be more fun if it was a rail coaster with some corkscrews.

Shanghai's Tron ride feels like a ride that was never supposed to be Tron. The exterior doesn't feel like Tron, nor do the show scenes. It's a terrible disservice to what should be a good IP for a theme park attraction.

From what I've read the ride vehicles and system were designed first and they later on in development decided to give it a Tron theme.

My perspective from someone who’s never seen Tron or been on the ride lol.

I appreciate the Tron ride for a few reasons:
  • They don’t shove a ridiculous back story down our throat
  • We’re not part of the story or being called “recruits.”
  • The attraction name is as about as good as it get by modern Disney standards and it doesn’t contain any colons.
  • The ride is experiential and repeatable.
  • The rides primary motivation is to entertain and not driven by the Inclusion Committee.

Is it the perfect ride for the Tron IP? No. Do I want in Disneyland in its current form? No. But it has some good things going for it.

It was going to be TRON from almost the very beginning. Disney expected TRON: Legacy to be a huge hit that would kick off a new franchise. The ride system existed beforehand because it’s just an update of Vekoma’s motorbike system.
