Am i the only one who sees the cutting up of old attraction peices to be sold as gimmicky trinkets a 'sacralige" of sorts? It seems a bit sad in a way that these brilliant and memorable attractions should end up this way. Just seems a little cheesy and painfully obvious that Disney is using this as a ploy to squeeze a few more dollars out of it's die-hard Guests.
What would Walt think about this?? I mean, how do you think he would feel about this idea of cutting up peices of these classic attractions and selling them this way?
I suppose one way i could look at it is this: It puts these dearly loved places and events in the hands and posession of those that can REALLY appreciate and value them...
I don't know ...it still seems like a sacralige (or however it's spelled).
I know you were joking, but incase there are some people out there who don't know, I'll explain. The cable gets worn out over time and they have to constantly replace it to make sure that it doesn't snap. This is probably one of the cables that has been replaced and is no longer servicing the attraction.WDWScottieBoy said:They're using a piece of the cable, eh? So now when the elevator drops...it really drops, no?!? It's interesting how they can use a piece of a ride still in service, let alone a piece that is vital to the ride!
