Our Expedition Everest Video

Hi everyone.

We just got back from a wonderful Disney World vacation and loved the new Expedition Everest roller coaster.

It is not the fast, steepest roller coaster but has that Disney magic that makes it special. We rode on a total of three times during our week stay and on two of the rides I took some video. You can see it see.

*** If you have not been on this ride you may not want to watch this video as it may spoil your first time ride. If you have been on it I hope this video will bring back a few great memories of the ride.

The video stars Emily (age 8), Andrew (age 9) and Courtney (age 12) who all loved Expedition Everest. Emily was scared at the start of the ride (as you can see in the video) but loved it after it was all over. :)

Oh god. Oh my god. It looks like a great ride.

The backwards portion seems more thrilling than the 80 foot drop, IMO.

Thanks for that! I'll try to gather my courage and ride it next time I head to WDW.

Vary cool!! Cant wait to ride it in April when i go for spring break! I was wondering if anyone know's if EE is open during EMH??- does animal kingdom have EMH??
I will also be excited to get pictures of WOL for all to see what's happening inside!!

Thanks for the welcome.

I actually used a lot of the info from this board to help plan our vacation. Sure helped.

The video was actually from two different rides of Everest so getting it all was a bit easier that way. Sure was fun.

Going backwards was kind of differeent. There is a dip in the backwards ride that really gets you in the stomach.

Great video! What type of software did you use for editing?

I used Pinnacle Studio Plus version 10.5
It is pretty easy to use. Bought it at Best Buy or Costco (can't remember).

The video camera is a Sony Handycam that I bought a few years ago. It is nice and small. I am sure there is better camera now but this one does what I want. I connect the camera to my computer and Studio Plus captures the video and gets it ready for me to edit.

I rode it twice last night during EMH.

Do not pass up an opportunity to ride this thing at night... simply fantastic!

Pinnacle is great, isn't it? That's what I use. I recognized it immediately from your title sequence. :animwink:

I got a kick out of your video and the editing job you did. In particular, I was busting up laughing at the part where you're sitting there at the broken track waiting, and waiting...and waiting for something to happen. The way you edited that really illustrated the long passage of time really well.

Ok-Do you know how high you are? I am terrified of heights. I can ride the Rockin Roller Coaster and Space Mountain. It is in the dark, so I do not know how high I am. Can I ride Everest?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!
That was an incredible video! I showed my older daughter and she can't wait to ride. I'll show my husband and younger daughter later. They'll have a blast on the ride.

I'll be in the gift shop, thanks.

Great video! I got a really good laugh from watching it. It was obvious you enjoyed yourself and I cannot wait for my turn (two months and counting!). Thanks again!

Great Video! How did you hang on to the camera? I rode it for the first time last Saturday and loved it! I am not a coaster person and I can't wait to get on it again in June! I thought the Yeti was awesome! I bought a huge plush one on the way out. He took up half my suitcase for the flight home. Your video brought back such great memories of the ride. Thanks again!
