Our Christmas Disneymoon 20th December-30th December 2011

Hi everyone.

I have been meaning to start this all week to cheer myself up- however I haven't been very well and then had an horrific time at my dentist yesterday which has delayed things further.

I am still in lots of pain, but want to start this tonight!

Ok so please see the link below for my pre-trip information:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=823613

Me and my now husband James (still feels strange to say husband) got married on Saturday 17th December at 12noon in our little town Blackpool which is in the North West of England. We got married in church and had a lovely reception.

Here are some pictures (not official ones)

Here we are at the elephants...

DSCF6416.jpg

While we were stopped we were able to take a picture of us, sitting in the savannah in the sunshine, waiting for the animal to be removed.

DSCF6419.jpg

It was lovely being able to just sit on the safari and take in the elephant section a little longer than normal. Anyway we were sat around for about 20 minutes and we finally got going again...

DSCF6421.jpg

On our way off the safari we saw this band playing some christmas songs..

It was an odd but lovely start to the day...

So we then decided to head to the festival of the lion king show..

DSCF6423.jpg

I adore this show so much! I love the whole set up. we always sit in the elephant section after my dad years ago got called up to make the elephant call...

here is the youtube of it back in 2001- so its 10 years old now.. my gosh!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAIFiMDekEM

Anyway, since Tarzan Rocks finished- the lion king show is my all time favourite show at disney world.

After the show we headed for food at...

DSCF6431.jpg

We chose the chicken meal... it was soooo yummy!

DSCF6432.jpg

the onian rings were sooo tasty...

DSCF6433.jpg

DSCF6434.jpg

We really enjoyed everything we had at the flame tree and would def recommend you all to go eat there if in animal kingdom!

We enjoyed sitting there for a while.. there was a table in front of ours where birds were in the trees and pooing on a family underneath them. Everyone was squealing and everytime the table was emptied someone else sat there.. and we had to keep telling them to move... or they'll regret it lol

Next we went off to...

I love Dinosaur.. its such a great ride! in my opinion its better, funner and more scary than the jurassic park river adventure at universal.

The big dino that pops up as the picture is taken is soo scary...

DSCF6445.jpg

After that we headed to Finding Nemo- The musical ! I am so amazed by this show! Its truely wonderful- i never could understand how it could be made in to musical- but it really works!!

Finding Nemo is my FAVORITE. I had the soundtrack on my iPod before I even had a chance to see the musical. I keep telling Dan he'll appreciate it when we get there to see it, but now he just rolls his eyes at me everytime a song comes on when we're in the car.

Ok so after Nemo we decided to have a look around dinoland and we found ourselves sitting on a bench, enjoying the day- people watching.

DSCF6451.jpg

We then decided to hit some of the shops on search for presents for my mum.
I found this really kool pillow of a giraffe that turned into a teddy- it was brilliant- sent that back to our resort.

Then James has been debating for ages whether to start collecting the disney pins..after much deliberation- he went for it and bought his 40th anniversay lanyard and started his disney pin collection!

here is his buying it.. and then wearing it!

DSCF6457.jpg

I love that he's started collecting the pins- means more disney trips in the future :) yay!

We then decided to head for the exit, because I had booked James a secret surprise...

Here we are trying an arms length with the christmas tree..

So for James's christmas- honeymoon surprise I had arranged for us to have a Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride at Fort Wilderness...

So we headed there using the disney transport....

DSCF6460.jpg

We got to the main reception and was told we needed to get to the settlement. After a little confusion with how to actually get there- we got on a bus and made it there. We went over to where they were and boarded our sleigh ride..

DSCF6461.jpg

DSCF6463.jpg

It was utterly fascinating and amazing - our sleigh was jingling and it was amazing to see the effort the campers went to with their christmas decoration.. I only took this one picture because i was filming on the camcorder.. but seriously if you are at the world at xmas- go and do the sleigh ride just to see the decorations down there... truely AMAZING!

This shows what 1 camper had done...

DSCF6465.jpg

This doesnt do it any justice.. it was fabulous! loved every minute...

DSCF6466.jpg

After our sleigh ride we headed to...

DSCF6468.jpg

For our ADR at T-REX...

We arrived at...

DSCF6470.jpg

It was soooo busy, but we got in line and were then taken to our seats- which were next to 2 dinosaurs that we named fred and bob...

DSCF6479.jpg

The inside was amazing- meteor showers every 30 mins or so .. it was huge!

Anyway, we were very excited about this meal- there was so much choice on the menu and we loved how entertaining the place was.

While waiting for our food, I had a picture ...

DSCF6476.jpg

The reasoning behind this picture is because I used to be obsessed with a boyband named a1- so James thought it would be hilarious for me to have a picture with the a1 steaksauce..

Anyway.. here's james..

DSCF6478.jpg

We didn't order a starter... to leave room for pudding! James opted for the Lasagne..

DSCF6480.jpg

and I opted for the 32 dollar Fillet Steak...

DSCF6481.jpg

We also had some more onian rings...
DSCF6482.jpg

The meal was sooooooooooooooo YUMMY! My steak is the best steak i have ever ever had! James said his lasagne was amazing and was definitely in his top3 . We loved the food...

Here's the proof..

DSCF6483.jpg

DSCF6484.jpg

For pudding, we went for the chocolate extinction- which was HUGE!

DSCF6485.jpg

<< BUT OH MY IT WAS AMAZING!!!

DSCF6489.jpg

Here is a video of it...

We really enjoyed our time at t-rex and wanted to go again... (which we did)...lol

Ahhh T-Rex! I'll make sure to get a picture of Fred and Bob (which one's which??) when I'm down - we're eating there the first night! :) I'm jealous of the sleigh ride, I've always wanted to do one... there just isn't enough time in a 4 day trip when your travel partner's never been to WDW!

And the Stitch picture is the CUTEST thing I've ever seen... especially when you're making the faces!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! Second, I am loving your report and pics! I am soooo glad you did the Fort Wilderness sleigh ride! I am planning a trip for early December 2012 and that is one of the things I am trying to decide on. I was leaning toward the wagon ride instead of the sleigh. I have a 7 (will turn 8 during the trip) year old son and thought he might enjoy it more with other kids on board. Your pic has me leaning back towards the sleigh. I assumed they just go down some trail in the woods. If they take you past the campers all decorated, I definitely want the private sleigh so I can take pics better. Could you shed some light on exactly where you go/what you see/how long it lasts please? Thanks so much! Can't wait to read the rest!!

Thank you very much, what a lovely lovely comment :)

It lasted around 20- 25 minutes. I have camcorder footage that I will try and upload and I can pass on the link to you when I get chance.
We literally went down different lanes and there were campers on either side of us. The lady driver encouraged us to thank the campers if we saw them and shout merry xmas, because if it wasnt for them it would be a very boring, dark ride. The efforts they go to are truely amazing! Most campers went very over the top with their christmas decorations and it was just brilliant- i didnt know where to look, there was sooo much!
Now- the wagon ride, is this the hay ride? Because.. we actually could hear the hay ride as we were driven around. All we could hear was laughing and fun and carolling- finally we met up with them and they all waved at us and continued their laughter. It looked like sooo much fun! I actually think that would be such a great christmas thing to do... !
So its up to you really! I really enjoyed the sleigh ride! Will there be as many decorations up in early dec? Either one you choose I am sure you will enjoy it for different reasons.. :xmas:
