Our 8th WDW Adventure..the trip I 'took out' one of my teenage sons..that's Rippin'!

Here it is, the next installment in our Disney adventures hot off the press for your reading pleasure. For those who’ve followed my last reports (and I, theirs) rest assured that this report will rival my first from January ’09. One of y’all must’ve ratted me out to Tinkerbell and had her read my last report because she tracked us down after we got to WDW and thoroughly flogged us with her wand o’pixie dust. We inhaled. Then we drank the water. The result was a rocket-shot straight to the top of the magic-meter....and our faith in wishing upon stars to make dreams come true has been restored in full and then some. So....please stand clear of the doors....por favor mantanganse alijado de las puertas....hold onto your hats and glasses, ‘cause this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!!!!

Preface: ((<---heh-heh...Who puts a preface in their TRs???))

I couldn’t do this report justice without a bit of back-story for the usual gang out there who tunes in. Everyone else can just skip forward. Let’s be honest, we all sorta vaguely follow each other’s lives indirectly by reading each others’ reports and conversing over various topics. We catch the milestones as they relate to our common thread of Disney addiction. I don’t know if others are as insane as we are but our lives tend to revolve around our Disney adventures in some way, shape, or form. The significance of our 8th family adventure can’t be appreciated unless you hear some of the highlights since we last left you at the conclusion of our 7th trip in January this year.

Did ya notice the underlying sadness in that last trip and report? We did. For months we blamed it on Mother Nature’s cruel-n-frigid prank with the weather. As 2010 progressed we came to understand where the dark cloud that seemed to follow us around really came from. It came from us. Yep. We did that. Going into that trip we knew that this year was going to be rough. Tracey had already been job searching for over a month. We knew his project was nearing completion and jobs in his line of work were evaporating daily. Even with the nest-egg we had worked so hard to prepare ourselves with, the uncertainty the future held was overwhelming. So we arrived at WDW on that trip not knowing if or when we’d be able to return. The thought that we were staring down what could potentially be our last adventure for quite some time was heartbreaking. For an example: the joy & excitement in arriving was overshadowed from the very start by the sad idea that we possibly wouldn’t have that again. You see? It was those kinds of things that had us dragging that dark rain cloud around with us everywhere we went. At the conclusion of our January 2010 trip we actually gave thought to the idea that maybe our pixie dusted glasses had been shattered and the magic that used to live within our hearts had all but died. I wasn’t sure we’d ever go back even if everything worked out in the months to come.

And then life has it’s way of flinging the perspective stick it at you. In our family’s case, it was the whole stinkin’ tree.

Our year of insanity included: Tracey unemployed for the first time in 17 years, me standing up to the bubba’s in the public school system here and taking back control of our children’s educations, Tracey set a new record for himself (gotta laugh) for the most number of employers within a single year at 4 while the boys & I plunged headlong into homeschool together which is HUGE and life-changing in itself. It’s been crazy with all the twists-n-turns and the ups-n-downs. There were numerous times we could literally see ourselves losing everything we’ve worked so hard for all these years. In spite of everything that life threw at us, we were still happier than we’d been in a long time. Like Mama Odie says to Tiana & Naveen, ya gotta know whatcha neeeeeed. With each other we have always had everything we needed. Everything else, all the stuff, even Walt Disney World...it’s all just the lagniappe. Without life kicking us square in the tookus so our big ol’ heads could pop out for 2 1/2 minutes we might have gone on overlooking the best stuff in life.

And so we arrived at our 8th Walt Disney World adventure raring to go with a renewed perspective and a whole lot to be thankful for: each other.

Enough of all that mushy-gushy stuff. Let’s get this show on the road!

Here’s the particulars and the plan:

WHO: Tracey/DH, Chandler/DS-14 yro, Brian/DS-13 yro, Riley Belle/DFG (Dear Furry Girl), and Kelly/me!

WHERE & WHEN: (it was a 3 week multi-part road trip)

<-- 11/8-11/11..........Gramma’s house in Pensacola, Florida
<-- 11/11-11/21........Walt Disney World: Port Orleans French Quarter and Best Friends Pet Resort
<-- 11/21-11/28........My folk’s house/Nana & Grandpaw’s house in Monroeville, Alabama

THE TWISTS:

The boys & I aren’t limited to the schedule that Tracey has with work. We drove and had fun along the way. Tracey flew in to meet us at WDW on arrival day and flew back to Houston on departure day. Thanksgiving morning he flew again & I picked him up. Even with all the gas in the car added to Tracey’s airfare(s) we still spent less than we would’ve for the 4 of us to fly round trip to Orlando. We haven’t had our own car at WDW with us since our 4th family trip. Having our car there was something I really, really wanted again and am sooooo glad we did. Besides, I love a good road trip and that time spent with just me & the boys was a blast!

I can't believe what my kid does to apple slices.

We continued on to IaSW to check out the recent changes there. We liked the new route of the queue. It makes much better sense!

IMG_2656.jpg

IMG_2657.jpg

Next up was a stroll thru to the Haunted Mansion to see the boarded wonder of a queue there. Not so bad. I just closed my eyes for a moment and imagined the headstones I’m familiar with and the rose on Master Gracey’s fresh grave. No biggy. We had 2 brief stops on the ride when we were in the library. Still a perpetual timeless favorite.

Chandler loves the witty names at the exit area. He took these:

Me being a mom, anything is better if I stick one of my kids in the picture so this is what I got:

http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee262/sweetpee_1993/WDW - November 2010/NOV 12/SANY0018.jpg

But then Chandler wins for going back for the Mr. Toad shot. Dangit. Well, yeah, it’s cool though because my kid who’s never even been on a Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride understands the significance and knows to seek him out.

IMG_2682.jpg

This is when Tracey had the barrage of phone calls going on with the nurse at the doctor’s office and the pharmacist at Turner Drugs (<--that’s the pharmacy who delivers to Disney’s resorts and the bill is added to your room charge...just an FYI). He had forgotten his blood pressure medication at home. Normally he takes a pill in the morning and one at night. Well, he missed his night pill the previous night but had his morning one with his vitamins. He called the doctor’s office to get enough called in to Turner to get thru the trip. The pharmacist at Turner wanted to confirm the quantity Tracey needed. Anywhoo, all worked out and the prescription would be sent over to the resort for us later. Cool beans.

By now we were getting pretty hungry again and I was eager to try out Pecos Bill’s since hearing such rave reviews about it in other trip reports. We did the self-check thing since we were using the dining plan. Tracey & I split a pulled pork bbq sandwich which closely resembles the one at Flametree BBQ in AK. The tomatoes at the topping bar weren’t too swooft. They were quite mealy and tasteless. ((We loooove to munch on sliced tomatoes as a snack at home.)) The frosting on the carrot cake was very gritty, too. Someone needs to tell the baker to use powdered sugar, not granulated. Blech!

I know there are those who think taking pics of partially eaten food is gross but I couldn’t resist on this one. At home if the boys eat apples they get me to peel & slice them up for them. I suppose they’re spoiled because they won’t take a bite of apple if there’s peeling involved. I was quite fascinated with what Chandler did to his apples here:

We survived the raft to TSI! But will we make it back?!?!

It being so early in the trip I still had my brain focused square on our ‘stuff to-do’ list that I have to keep track of all the things I read about that I don’t want to overlook or forget when we’re in the parks. I’m telling you, I have the most scattered brain ever! We decided over lunch that we’d get FP’s for BTMRR then spend our wait time at TSI if possible. And whadya know? It worked out!

So on the raft ride over to Tom Sawyer’s Island I was entertaining my family and a few others recalling my thoughts and impressions of this experience when I was a kid. I was a very nervous little thing back then....afraid of my own shadow, loud noises, and anything that was unsteady. Well, the rafts had what -then- sounded like uncommonly very loud engines. That scared me. I thought they’d blow up or something. I just knew we’d all die in this horrendous fireball and they wanted us to stand right up next to the spot where the noise came from. Also, the rafts were so low to the water it made me nervous. If I could see other people who were...ahem...larger in size...I’d try to avoid getting on that raft because I was certain the raft would take water on the side that person was on, flip, we’d all be thrown into the Rivers of America, and drown....or something would cause a big wave to come along and swamp the raft causing it to go down instantaneously....both scenarios of which on top of being completely stupid in theory made absolutely no sense considering I’ve been able to swim like a fish since I was 6 and the river isn’t that wide. The rafts, I was sure of it, were going to kill me before I made it to be a teenager. LOL!

The island was beautiful. The weather was so nice. The shade was perfect. We wandered around aimlessly which was so relaxing. We snapped all sorts of pics just because it was so pretty and we wanted to.

Attack of the teenage mood swings!

For whatever reason, I forget what, Brian had a little bit of a y attitude going on at first. We ignored him the best we could and he got over whatever the issue of the moment was. Also in our exploring we crossed paths several times with this same kid who looked about our boys’ ages who was wandering about on his own, was a bit over-chatty, and definitely over-eager to make a friend. Of course my heart went out to the kiddo as a once insecure odd-ball without many friends. Okay well yeah, I still am a goofy odd-ball but lemme finish. LOL! Chandler & Brian have had some pretty awful stuff go down which was part of the big hullaballoo at the school in April/May so they’re still kinda gun-shy with kids they don’t know (which is improving, too). This kid was pretty determined to make a friend and my 2 were that much more shy & withdrawn because of it. Partner that with Chandler’s dislike for the dark and spooky caves, when the needs-a-friend kid jumped out from a dark corner in one of the caves to scare Chandler on purpose all in fun. Great. Now teenage son #1 is being Mr. y-pants. **sigh** Sometimes I think teenage boys are actually girls with their hormonal mood-swings. That’s like MY job. LOL!

Brian was excited to check out Fort Langhorn.

SANY0040.jpg

Chandler wasn’t interested.

SANY0047.jpg

Brian was in hog heaven.

SANY0044.jpg

Assassin-style ala 'Wanted' which is one of Brian's favorite movies ever:

SANY0046.jpg

Tracey shot a nice pic of Brian & me from his perch:

IMG_2693.jpg

I showed the guys stuff I remembered like where they used to have a little snack bar thing in Fort Langhorn.

Ya know what this made me think of??? When I was little if I wore my hair in a ponytail my then-step-dad would pick up my hair in the back and say, "Ya know what's under a pony's tail? A pony's butt." LOL!

SANY0041.jpg

I took a nice bridge picture of my guys. Way in the back there you can see needs-a-friend kid.

I sure hope we live to get back over to Frontierland!

Then the Liberty Belle was coming so we waited to take pics of it and got Chandler a little distracted with picture-taking.

IMG_2695.jpg

IMG_2697.jpg

With no encouragement from us Chandler captured a nice little shot of the flip side of the construction area on the HM queue. But then I think I cut out the good part with the construction when I edited the picture. Boo for me!

IMG_2686.jpg

Our FP time for BTMRR was approaching so we headed back to the dock to catch the next raft o’death back over to Frontierland. Are ya feelin’ any better yet, Chandler???

SANY0053.jpg

I’m always amazed at the cool stuff you see when you think to look up....and at my crap-tastic photography....

SANY0054.jpg

We survived our raft ride back over to Frontierland (aka Western-World to my oober-goofy-hubby who for some reason on this trip took to calling Frontierland that. Tomorrowland became Future World, too. He loves to rename stuff just to get on people's nerves. LOL!)

Next up was....

SANY0055.jpg

With our FPs we walked right past all the people in the long standby line down the first level of descent around the corner a few steps onto the second stretch going down towards the loading area. I noted for the guys how that was where we’d be in the standby line on a busy day when I was a kid. More often then not we walked on and could stay on for several runs. My how things change, huh? LOL! Here’s more of my awesome photography skills trying to get a shot of our train:

SANY0056.jpg

I tried to take some pics on the ride but that didn’t work out so well. Tracey had Chandler’s camera and was able to grab these two shots which impressed me compared to the blurry mess I managed to get.

Piratesland!!! Ahoy!!!!

When we got off the ride Tracey asked where the hidden Tink was since the last time I was supposed to show it to him it was dark out and he couldn’t really see it.

SANY0065.jpg

When we walked out towards Frontierland there was this odd bunch of official-looking people with mega-cameras who were all standing around with other important-looking people with clipboards and some other kids. We had no clue who they were. I wondered if maybe it was promo footage to go with the events of the Children’s Miracle Network Classic that was going on that weekend. Does anyone else know?

SANY0066.jpg

SANY0067.jpg

Nobody wanted to ride Splash Mountain and chance smelling like funky feet from the funky feet water which is a shame because it was getting a little warm out and it’s such a cool ride aside from the get wet part. I asked the boys a few times if they were sure because I would’ve done it if they wanted to but they both adamantly assured me they’d rather pass. We moved on....

Next up we walked towards Adventureland. Just past the side entrance to Pecos Bill’s they had some scrims up that we totally didn’t notice at all. LOL! Seriously, I do appreciate the attempt to not disrupt the facades while they do their refurb work.

SANY0069.jpg

May the Adventure begin!

SANY0068.jpg

I suppose for us they could just call Adventureland ‘Piratesland’ because that’s pretty much the thing we make a beeline to whenever we are in this part of the park. LOL! Remember the barker parrot that was outside of entrance to get you to cough up the ticket to ride? Yeah. So do my boys. Here’s where our ol’ friend used to be.

SANY0070.jpg

The guys were headed for the entrance but I got distracted by the prettiness of this little scene to the right:

SANY0071.jpg

The line was loooong. Well, by our standards, anyway. We waited something like 15 minutes or so. The little girl with her parents and younger sister behind us in line was scared and carried on through the entire queue. She may have been 5 or 6 years old. When it was time to get on the boat she really went nuts. Everyone else getting on the boat was nervous about that kid riding with us. I was afraid she’d do like the little girl in front of me back in ’99 who decided mid-ride she didn’t want to be in the boat anymore and was on her way over the side when I caught her and pulled her back to me. Thank goodness the Mom thought better of it and sent the dad with the younger sister while she sat it out with the older child. We all were standing waiting on the boat when Chandler said out loud, “Whew! I was afraid she was gonna have to ride with us.” The dad was right behind us and I’m sure heard him. I nudged him and said deliberately loud enough for the dad to hear, “That little girl doesn’t hold a candle to how you used to act. People came from aisles over in Walmart to see the boy who was going to single-handedly dismantle a metal shopping cart.” Which is true, BTW. “It’s nap time and Disney is so amazing it can over-stimulate little ones and wear them out. She sounded tired more than anything.” Then I whispered really quietly in his ear how rude what he did was. The dad pretended not to hear my loud comments but I could tell he did. I just hate the thought that my not-thinking teenager didn't consider that the dad could hear his comments. That’s not fun for that family. I would know. Gee whiz.

So we all sat down in the boat and the tension was starting to fade. Chandler had his DSLR camera still around his neck and took it off. He said, “I guess flash pictures are out for this one, right?” Another little boy, maybe 4 years old, with his dad in the seat directly in front of us turned to Chandler and said, “Noooooo flash photography is da ruuuuule”, in this really stern voice like it was a warning. That kid had to have heard his parents fuss about other people’s flash photography on dark rides. Then he tipped his little chin down and gave Chandler this totally serious evil eye look that had us rolling. It was hysterical! I wish beyond wish I coulda had a picture of THAT! Priceless! As the boat conveyer shoved us forward I leaned over to Chandler again and whispered one of his favorite lines in Sir-Mix-A-Lot’s ‘Hip Hop Soldier’....”yeah buddy....he’ll whoop a sucka’s a....” Too perfect!

At the conclusion of our pirate voyage we felt like it was time for a break. The crowds were building and we were all kinda tired. We headed back to the resort, oh, it was about 1:45 or so. Here’s some pics Tracey snapped with Chandler’s camera on the way out.

IMG_2722.jpg

IMG_2726.jpg

I took this one. Had to. It said something about toys and dolls and I loooove both of those things lots & lots!

SANY0072.jpg

The wait for the bus felt like an eternity. Of course I had to stay on top of Tracey (aka ‘Sunshine’) and his 2 mini-smarty-pants grumpies and all their snarky long wait comments. Say it with me folks, “Complaining doesn’t solve the problem or make the buses magically appear. It makes the people around you who are also not enjoying the wait more miserable.”

We napped for 3-ish to 4-ish. We were refreshed and on our way back out of the resort via our own car this time by 5. We stopped in at Best Friend’s to see Riley. She was a mess when she saw us all carrying on and whimpering and trying to get me to pick her up. I’m Riley’s person, you see. Seriously. She’s spent all day today as I typed this report text in my lap. We took her to the off-leash dog playground to try & get her to run & exercise. The 2 other dogs that were there were big dogs. This has never bothered Riley before but they were intent on playing with her which she was totally not interested in. I’ve never seen her be anything other than playful with other dogs. It kinda freaked me out a little when she was snippy. The other owners were really sweet & apologetic which they didn’t need to be. She was being a little heifer to those dogs who just wanted to play. Tracey is so much better than me in those situations. He scooped her up, put her leash on, and started walking her briskly up & down the dog walk path. That helped a lot. We tried to get her to eat but she wasn’t interested. When we went to her villa to sit with her a bit she got wired up again acting all nervous and weird trying to get to me. Tracey picked her up and had the rest of us leave. He sat with her a few moments until she was calm before he left. I was starting to wonder if maybe we shouldn’t have tried boarding her and had imposed on my mom or something to keep her. **sigh**

We got to Epcot in no time. The park seemed pretty dang busy. I wasn’t in the best of moods with the drama at the kennel. I tried to get on with it, though. I’m guessing this is why I didn’t take any pictures. I also take even crappier pics at night so it’s hardly worth the effort. If you don’t wanna read the rest of this day I totally understand. LOL!

The boys wanted to see MJ in Captain EO. They had heard me carry on about it since I read the news that they were bringing it back. I have no issue with MJ. I remember the movie from ’86 and how strangely silly we I thought it was as a 12 year old when MJ, Solid Gold-style choreography, and that sort of stuff was actually all the rage. The movie would NEVER have come back if the man hadn’t died and all the hype in the media machine hadn’t blown up like it did. Some people say it’s a tribute to bring it back. Really? Really? Have you seen EO??? You want a tribute to MJ and you’re gonna use THAT as the defining piece? ? Um, no. It’s blatant cashing-in on the man’s hype surrounding the celebrity of his name BECAUSE HE DIED. And that in & of itself is completely wrong. But my kids wanted to see this piece of theatrical hilarity so Tracey & I went into it with the thought that if nothing else we’d have a few laughs.

The pre-show mini-documentary is actually very interesting. I really got into the making of the piece and even found myself a little excited to be seeing it again. We took our seats and the show began. The use of the moving theater and the effects was really the best part for me. I found my mouth kept drying out from my jaw-dropped amazement at the cheese-factor of the puppetry, the script, the choreography, and everything other than the theater movement and other theater affects. So we exit the building and there’s this awkward silence among all of us. I was waiting to hear what the boys had to say. Tracey, in is comedic glory, comes out with, “I may be old and not remember some stuff but I **know** Michael Jackson’s shoulders did NOT make that sound.” ROFLMAO! Nope. They didn’t. When Chandler stopped laughing he asked us if that was what it was like for us as kids in the 80s. We asked for clarity on the question. He wanted to know if that’s what was cool when that movie was made? Was that what music and entertainment was for us when we were kids. The answer is mostly no but sorta yes. No in that EO was a bit to far in the cheese even by our standards as kids. As a 12 year old it was a dumb movie with a stupid plot and I remember thinking MJ should be embarrassed. Then I forgot about and ran upstairs to the old Imageworks to have some real fun. Yes in that the 80s was a time when people wore clothes too tight and/or shiny, they teased their hair too much, used too much Aqua Net, smeared the blue eye-makeup on too thick, over-choreographed every dance move, etc. etc. It was almost like a time of cartoonish quality. I guess that put his mind at ease a little. He still just shakes his head when EO comes up. I joke with them about it, too. “I told you so. Now that’s 17 minutes of your life you’ll never get back.” LOL!

To try and help cure some of the confused concern our children now had for us when we were children we went over to take a relaxing float on Living With the Land. Nothing note-worthy. It was LWtL.

By now we were getting really hungry. We had no ADR for this evening so we needed to wing it. We walked on out towards the Fountain of Nations not sure what to do for dinner. It was one of those moments when you’re so hungry you don’t know what you want. You just want food without much waiting. I’m not sure exactly how it happened but we ended up in the Electric Umbrella. Years back we had a good meal here but that’s when they still had the toppings bar and all. Thinking the removal of a toppings bar couldn’t totally ruin a restaurant, we went inside & ordered. Boy, was that a stupid thought process. The food was atrocious. Someone somewhere should be flogged. Everything tasted old and funky. It was just plain nasty. I’m sure glad free dining picked up that tab because if I’d have paid $59 for that plated garbage I may have had to have a diva-moment in front of God and everybody.

After we choked down the slop the guys wanted to ride Mission:Space. Tracey insisted on green team vs. orange which isn’t his norm but remember, he’s still dealing with the effects of missing a dose of his blood pressure meds. I sat it out because I’d been feeling a little off and had a few dizzy moments during the evening. I tried to get Tracey to sit with me and let the boys go but he wouldn’t have it. As he walked away he chuckled, “It’s only death, Kelly.” Not funny. I shoulda upped his life insurance while they were in line. After M:S we discussed our dull headaches and slight discomforts and realized it was our sinuses giving us fits trying to adjust. We all felt kinda blah. Epcot was packed. We decided we’d be happier just calling it a night. Tracey’s ankles were really starting to swell so that sorta sealed the deal.

When we got back to the car Tracey was feeling like he was dragging us all away from the fun with his bp issues. He wasn’t. We decided to ride by DtD to see what was hopping. We knew Festival of the Masters was going on this weekend. Every traffic light in front of the DtD parking entrances had marquis signs that read, “FULL”. Yep. We took the long-n-scenic cut back to POFQ.

We stopped by the concierge desk & picked up Tracey’s prescription. It was only like $36 including the delivery charge. Can’t complain there. He took one of the pills before we walked away from the desk.

We handed the boys some cash for the arcade (they were having video game withdrawls...it was kinda scary...LOL!). Tracey & I strolled thru the shop and looked everything over. The boys hadn’t asked about their usual souvenir funds gift cards which was sorta refreshing that they understood that financially all of our lives are different than they were the past 3 trips we made to WDW. We got a great deal with the free dining on our travel package and we weren’t going to spend anywhere near what we had before. Tracey and I decided we’d hook them each up $150 + an additional $100 that would be ear-marked to buy a Christmas gift for each member of our family. That way they could enjoy the hunt of the perfect gift during the trip, it’d save me from having to take them shopping when we got home, and made them have to budget a little. So we bought the 2 gift cards which I tucked into my wallet for later when we decided we wanted to hand them over.

Tracey & I were showered & relaxing when the boys came back to the room together at 9:45 or so. They were showered & in bed by 10:30. What a first full day. I sure hoped those teenage mood-swings weren’t gonna continue tomorrow.

And just as a little reward for reading all that word-heavy stuff for the rest of the day I have some bonus pics to throw out there for your viewing pleasure from this day....

The moody stuff is just brutal sometimes. It's like the two boys have this tag-team thing going on. I think it's probably the plight of all us moms of teens. Tracey just gets his fill of it, pops off at them, and that's it. End of story. I try to listen, figure out what the issue really is because it's never what they're saying, do what I can to keep Tracey from popping off, and facilitate the kid working out the issue for themselves so they might learn something about how to handle their raging emotions. It's exhausting some days. LOL! I need a plate to match the one I made for my mother & hangs in her kitchen. It says: Grandkids are the reward for not killing your teenagers. Ugh! I sooooo want grand-daughters someday!!!

This is our first year homeschooling. I feel clueless half the time but I know the kids are getting so much more at home than they ever got in a classroom. We work at their speed...not the speed of the slowest kid or what the problem kids dictate. It's an adventure, that's for sure!

WDW Day 3 - November 13: The Day the Moody Teenagers Went Too Far

WDW Day 3 - November 13: The Day the Moody Teenagers Went Too Far

Like that title, do ya? I bet you’re waiting to see what kinda smack-down we put on our two teenage sons. LOL! Things have to hit bottom before they can get better, dontcha know?

I was up at 6:15 a.m. and we were out the door at 7:20 a.m. headed to the MK for our early Crystal Palace reservations. We hopped in our car and drove to the MK. We were parked in the row right behind the handicap row. How you like them beans? Woot!

We were at the TTC at 7:30 pushing on to our destination. Oddly the express monorail line wasn’t running. We were routed to the resort line which had me a little concerned for time. Patience, Kelly. If you’re a little late it’s no big deal. While the train sat at the Poly for what felt like an eternity we heard (& felt when the a/c stopped) the monorail power have a brief interruption in power. Gawd, please let this thing get us there on time. I don’t wanna be rushed. We met a nice couple also from Houston on the monorail with their absolutely adorable little boys. The oldest was maybe 4 years old and sat next to Tracey. Tracey loves little kids and they always seem to talk with him like they’re old chums. LOL! Finally we made it to the MK for our wonder-mus walk up Main Street before park opening. This is some of my most favoritest time of any trip. We didn’t get to soak it in so much last time because it was so cold we were running for the warmth of the restaurant. No, today we could take the time to breathe it in and savor the magic. So here’s our early morning joy in pictures:

Are you tired of early pics yet?! Too bad!

There were photopass photographers out. Here's pics taken either by them or by us as they took pics...

And it was about time for some grub over at this puuuurty place...

Breakfast was at the Crystal Palace which is like the icing on the cake of the early park entry. We’re not big Pooh character fans but we play along and make it into fun memories. Here’s my characters with the characters:

Yeaaaaahhhh!!! Kelly's TR is finally up and running. :sohappy: I've been waiting. Okay, first things first - Riley Belle - love, love, love her. My pup, Emme, is my bestest, most loyal friend. And I'm her Human too, so I totally "get" that connection.

Next, you are totally inspiring me to get to work on my TR from my recent trip. I actually considered not doing one until I started reading yours and it made me remember WHY the trip report is so great. You get to relieve all those amazing memories of happiness and pixie dust inhalation.

Can't wait to read the rest. Lovin all the details and pics.

And oh yeah, thanks again for the pics of POFQ. I can't wait to stay there in March.

Again, my apologies for the plate pics but I had to take this picture. We’re at Crystal Palace with all that food spread out all hot & fresh since it’s early in the morning and all. Brian goes to get his first plate and he comes back with a boiled egg and a strip of bacon. What the heck is that?! A boiled egg and a strip of bacon. He ate the bacon and the boiled egg white before I could get a picture. He’s like me, we won’t eat the yolks because we don’t like them so that’s what was left on his first plate. Brian’s just not all that big on eating early in the day. I don’t know where we got him. Breakfast is my favorite meal anytime of day!

Chandler wanted me to take a pic of his milk mustache. Better watch out there, son. You’ll need to be shaving that lip all too soon!

Over breakfast we handed the gift cards we purchased the night before over to the boys. We explained the Christmas shopping rules and they were excited. Both said they already knew what they wanted to buy us. This concerned me slightly (I’m wondering where they found lumps of coal at WDW). LOL!

When we came out of the restaurant it was nearly time for the park to open to everyone else. We strolled up by the castle then up near the tunnel so I could walk thru and see the mosaic murals.

The castle:

Brian having another pickly-petunia-princess moment and Chandler trying to hug him out of it. Yeah. Again. No. I don’t know why. Does anyone ever understand teenagers?

We spotted this huge hunka gorgeous creature in the hub. There was a small crowd gathered at the backside of the trolley he was pulling because the Dapper Dans were back there belting out a tune but I was far more impressed with the horse.

Hiya Tracy! Oh yes. I'm totally Riley's human. That's such a good way to put it. Before we got our dog I thought dog people were bonkers. Now I get it. My mom says Riley is my little girl. I gave birth to 2 boys then I adopted my sweet little furry girl. LOL!

Oh please don't skip the TR! Seriously! Sharing the adventures with others is how I get by until I can go on my next trip.

I'm still plugging away tonight. Getting a lot done, huh?!
