Osborne Christmas lights to EPCOT?

Generating electricity costs money. Doesn't matter who owns the generator.

But the cost calculation is different when you own the power plant. When you are buying from someone else you pay for what you use, so if you turn on a light you are now paying slightly more from the supplier. But if your power is coming from your own power plant, turning on that same light doesn't suddenly cause the power plant to use a little bit more fuel, power generation doesn't adjust dynamically like that.

Of course the cost is different. but it is not free.
And Disney doesn't generate its own power.
And I have some experience generating power.

But now, I'll be asked to prove and clarify etc all of that.

And its another case where someone makes an absurd comment, I point out ONE simple fact, and suddenly I'm the ignorant party in all of this that doesn't know what they're talking about.

All because, I didn't breath the osborn lights pixie dust.

But the destruction is just about total. So, won't have to wait for long.

Seems like Disney Springs would be a perfect fit.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I'm sure someone else has already said it, but...

Putting something like Osborne outside of a park means people don't have to PAY to see it. And Disney is not in the business of "free".

You're talking tens of thousands of dollars in hardware, tens of thousands of dollars in labor, and probably close to 10k in design and engineering. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars in energy costs.

That sort of thing is only going behind a pay wall at WDW.

So I'll make you all happy. I'll yield the floor. Then you can post more gifs of crying men, generally revel in your success at beating me down and outlasting me.

None of us here are attacking you or your viewpoint when we respond to, are critical of, or question what you have posted. We're having a discussion; We respond to previous posts sometimes by agreeing or supporting, but often by countering or even picking apart a fellow members' arguments. When someone questions what you have written, respond with explanation and added commentary, not with hostility that someone would dare question what you say.

Yeah, because these are the only christmas lights disney has ever had. That's about as accurate as how you and many others here have portrayed my very very simple and straight forward comment.

So you can go on being attached forever to something that will likely, very likely, never appear again, you can keep hoping and wishing that it will all materialize Magically! someplace else and your world will be whole and pretty and festive.

So I'll make you all happy. I'll yield the floor. Then you can post more gifs of crying men, generally revel in your success at beating me down and outlasting me.

There are so many third rails around this place is quite amazing.

now I'll be asked to explain third rail and told its not the same yada yada yada....
Okey-dokey, then.

Do let us know when they replace Horizons or Adventurers or Imagination One with something better.

Because they haven't yet. Thanks.
There's no reason to replace the boring attractions you mentioned. They were popular once but father time has a deal with the grim reaper to make such attractions the center of fan rosy retrospection and illusory superiority.

Sadly I never got to experience the Osbourne lights in person. I still would love a light show just as good if not better than the Osbournes. I think Epcot would be a good fit. It has tons of space. Plus they could have a Holiday Festival after the Food and Wine Festival. Festivals are keeping Epcot's attendance as high as it is , why not have another one?

I think Disney Springs would be a good choice as well but to risky for Disney. A free Disney light show would attract thousands of guest but would also cost thousands of dollars. Banking on guest making up that cost with buying food and merchandise is to risky in this economy.

Yay, because they're so overrated. I've been to the Food and Wine one twice and big deal:p

We do our best not to visit when it's on, but with it getting longer and longer in an attempt to make more money it's becoming unavoidable. It's not what we travel 4000 miles to vacation for.

So we just spend our time and money elsewhere.
