Trip Report Orlando Calling...yes, I was "there" too...Part 2!!

Orlando calling to the faraway towns..
Now a vacation is declared and we come down..
Orlando calling and I don't want to shout...
But while we were driving, I saw you nodding out
Orlando calling, and the Disney World..
Come out of the house, you 4 boys and 1 girl..
Orlando calling to our 2 bedroom resort...
Now that I'm home, the trip I report...

I never felt so much alike, alike, alike, alike

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend...

After the excitement of MK, the next day was pool and dinner/bowling reservation at Splitsville that evening...

This was our first time at Splitsville for dinner or bowling.. Liam had a bowling party for his 8th BD and wanted to go again...

I'm game!!

We made a standard ADR for dinner and a separate reservation for bowling...

We enjoyed the food and if you like sushi, it was very good!! 🍣

We rented a boogie board for Liam and within a few tries he was a pro! He loved it!

After about 2 hours, the sky started to get dark and clouds rolled in... the red flag went up and within 10 seconds, we heard thunder...

We had our fill of the beach anyways, but getting chased off with kids isn't the greatest experience, but we got out and back to the van unscathed!

I had a great time, it's the first time in forever that we actually followed through and went to a beach...I'd go again!

Got back just around 3 and had pizza in the room and did some pool time the remainder of the night!

Friday was a pool day again with a Disney sprinkle at night when we had an ADR at Kona Cafe. Liam and I went there for the first time Spring Break '21 so I wanted to bring the rest of the family there. It would also give us a chance to ride the Monorail like the boys wanted..

Liam and I started the day out by heading to the Golf shop at the Palm/Magnolia courses so I can get some shirts and new cover for my putter...

We had some time before the reservation so I took the kids around the resort and went on the Resort Monorail...

Dinner time!

Tried the potstickers! They were great...Had the same Rainbow roll as last year. Excellent..

I saw that @Tuvalu 's Woody had ordered it recently and I couldn't resist...

I couldn't finish and ate the rest the morning after with my eggs! Just as delicious...

We then waddled over to the TTC and took a ride on the Epcot line, and timed it right to see the new show there for at least the 10 seconds round the curve...

What we timed perfectly was our return as we found a spot between Poly bungalows and the Ferry boat dock along the walkway and saw the MK fireworks on the way back to our van...

Saturday was a resort day filled with packing and pool time.

Later that evening we had a final ADR at Maria & Enzo's. We didn't get to the other parts of Disney Springs on Wednesday, so our plan was to shop and have dinner and dessert!


Heather has more photos from Dinner that I will add later...

Dinner, excellent. My dish was the lasagna and it was great, My mother's(She is Sicilian) lasagna is the best in the world and I do not eat other Italian restaurant lasagna because I know the Gold Standard but this was very good. Maggiano's in the Chicago area has a great dish and the Maria & Enzo's one was not as good. Heather had the Chicken Parm and if you can see it in the back of the picture, the chicken was the size of the plate. She liked it. Kids meals were NY style pizza and typical kids sides.

Prices, not excellent. Very pricy for the food quality. Although, the Caesar salad was very good.

After dinner we hit WOD, and not the Lego store. They had a queue to get in, limit capacity I am sure.

Leaving WOD with less cash than I came in, I noticed the Ghiardelli's line was not existent..Never!! So Heather gave me the stroller and headed in!!

10 minutes and $35.00 later....

We headed back not too long after this to finish packing for the drive home the next day...

To finish up, we loaded up the van and we moved to Bever.....err, Murfeesboro to spend the night on the Sunday travel day. This was a long leg that took us back through ATL and the mountains but we made good time and the kids got to swim again...


Bye bye Florida...it's been emotional.

We did get to stop at Buc'ee's on the way back and it was just as grand as everyone said it was...We grabbed gas and snacks and I noticed that I killed one of Hopper's cousins...

Made it home just in time for the tornado that came through our town, no seriously...

The last 10 minutes of our home stretch we drove right next to severe storm that produced an F1 about 5 mile from our house, but right by the highway to get to our neighborhood...Yikes...

We made it safe and sound for me to share this with you all...I hope you liked it.

So we are at the end of the band tour and can't wait until the next trip...in October. I hope airfares get better by then 'cause I ain't driving again for while...

My pre-trip report title will surely be..."Should I stay or should I go" @fractal if the prices are high...


Excellent Florida trip with some Diz mixed in...New things done, favorite things done again...

Love the picture of Liam eating pizza - reminded me of my daughter years ago: we went out for pizza after a long eventful day and she fell asleep as she was bringing the slice of pizza from the plate to her mouth 😆 (as a kid she had a definite on/off switch and when she was done, she was done).

Glad you got home safely - I can’t imagine how stressful it would be to drive in such a storm.
