After some free eggs, bacon and fruit from JW, we headed out for the fun part of the drive.... The Bunny Hills..
.
That mountain stretch before Chattanooga where they have the warning signs for the truckers...and my wife.
I learned from my neighbor who drives trucks that if you have to use one of those ramps, you also get heavily fined and ticketed...means your equipment wasn't up to snuff... The more you know...
I think that was a church atop the mountain near Chattanooga...
"Hey kids, do you see that church up there?"
"Zzzzzzzzzzz....." I guess the roller coaster ride down the mountains was enough for them"...
In the blink of an I-24, we were through TN and into the Peach state, then back out again and then back in again....(that lil' part that goes back and forth between the states)
The closer we got to ATL, the slower the traffic got...it was early afternoon on a Saturday so we knew what we are in store for. It was about as bad as I thought it would be. Once we got through the city proper, it opened up and we made up the time pretty well....
I was on my phone trying to see if our toll pass would work in GA but we were about 3 weeks off from being able to use the EZ-Pass through the ATL express lanes...
Bathrooms and lunch stops...all the boring stuff. I didn't even get to see the third biggest ball of twine, which was only a few short hours away..
Florida was on the horizon and after seeing a couple hundred signs for a Beaver store(???), we put the pedal to the carpet at made our way to the Sunshine State...
