For 75 years…FLA-ridians have been saying that the swamplands are going to become the most crowded, highest of money enclaves in the history of the planet.

The predictions are always the same.

It never gets there. Just remember that.
Since so many areas of central Florida are just uninhabitable there is a definite shortage of land to build homes and businesses. I just bought after living here a year. In the past 6 months all the land around our house is cleared and is turning into apartment buildings. We're about 20 minutes from lake Nona and their situation is just way different. At least we have wider roadways that can still handle the people somewhat. Out there it's all narrow streets. The only difference is that the building is mostly commercial and private residence now. Not nearly as many apartments. Florida indeed grew tremendously and is only slowing down a little bit.

I was you…quite long time ago.

It’s always the same gig. What’s different now is it’s been 15 years since the market crashed and the imbalance is more than usual on the cycle.

When that happens…and it will…it’s gonna knock everything along 4 on its @ss - as it’s always done.

The cranes will be disassembled and it’s gonna sell CHEAP.

It really has been the same story since the invention of AC. Stakes are much worse now due to those “weather issues” as well.

It is…what it it is.

Anybody still talking about this as an Imagineering move is missing the point. Imagineering is tiny compared to Consumer Products, which is the primary group impacted here.
That’s a good point.

They are hedging because of the political climate…from my read.

That’s the right call. Things are way too volatile/unstable now

Central FL is apt central. Many parts of vacant land are apt buildings or eventually going to be apt buildings. Definitely will affect property values. As a homeowner in my state I would not be thrilled having a number of apts near my residence.

Definitely not happy about it but it is what it is. It beats living in NY 300 days out of the year and for those 65 we just sweat a little more.

Retiree in Florida? You don’t say…

I wonder if retired and withdrawn from the tax base combined with low pay service jobs may “limit” the value of real estate

(I’m not on you specifically…but you just kinda stated what holds Florida back against your own argument

But it’s only been about 75 years 😎)

Just shaking up people does not mean anything if you’re not empower those who remain to change the broken processes that extend beyond Walt Disney Imagineering.
That’s true.

Here’s my plans:
1. Management agrees to provide the manpower and budget to provide what’s necessary to maintain the quality of the product.
2. WDI understands it’s a “results based business” and does it’s best on fair timelines and budget. End the standard “grievance culture”

Deal?

But can WDI spend tens of thousands of dollars to relocate trees when the landscaping around their temporary site trailers aren't to their liking?

I'm most certainly not retired, not even close, like 30 years away... I know that in my current trajectory I will be able to retire. In NY I would probably not.

You are 30 years ahead of the game. Few downsides are poor quality education, food options , even a real quality grocery store , healthcare, wages etc compared to the high stress Northeast in these categories .

Lol…”few”

A “second world” infrastructure system due to meeting the “demands” of retirees.

That’s Florida. No mincing. It works for people or it doesn’t…like everywhere else.

This is a strange comment. Why would educational opportunities or wages be a factor for a recent retiree?

Also, as a parent of young children, I would much rather have had my kids in Florida schools these last two years than whatever passed for "education" in many of these Northeast enclaves.

Completely unbiased take there 👍🏻

There are trade offs everywhere. Nobody ever wins the comparison game.
