We ordered another one of the Disney PhotoPass Memory Books & it turned out great!
It is a little expensive, but you can include as many of PhotoPass pics as you want & you can use your own photos as well.

Has anyone else ordered the Disney PhotoPass Memory Book?
What was your experience?

I order every time and LOVE them. Last time I made a stupid mistake though - I registered the Photopass card (the one they mail you with your package confirmation) about a week before my trip, then went away for the week, then when I got back I had 16 days to make the book (instead of the usual 30) because I registered the card too early. :hammer:

We preordered the combination book and CD for our trip later this month. My mom wanted the book and though its expensive, we compared it with the cost of a similar memories book from the local photo video store and found Disney was actually cheaper. She did one of our trip in the past and it really does come out nicely.

I've never heard of them counting your 30 days from before the trip though. In my experience it was 30 days after the final day of your trip. Maybe they changed the policy.

I think it was because I actually registered the card. Or maybe it was a fluke. All I know is I was busting my but trying to make the thing before th photos expired!

I've gotten the book twice. I didn't get it this year because I wanted the photo CD instead. I wanted to be able to use and print the photos on my own. I love how the books turned out. They look so nice! I just wish they would have spell check on there because I made a couple silly mistakes and it really irritates me now when I look at them!

It's the type of thing that's difficult to grasp until you actually do it, and then you realize it's pretty straightforward (I had a tough time with the dining plan until I actually used it!). Basically, there are photographers stationed all over all of the parks. You just walk over and they tell you where to stand, snap a bunch of photos, and if you don't already have one, they will give you a card (that you can use with all subsequent photographers) that is linked to your photos online. You go to the photopass website and can see them all, for 30 days, after which they expire. During the 30 days you can buy all sorts of products (individual photos, mugs, photo books, etc.) including a CD that contains all of the photos and gives you the rights to reproduce to your hearts content (inlcuding uploading to a different photo site to pay less for the photos). If you commit to buying that CD before your trip, it's $99. After the trip it is $150.

And check out their FAQ page.

it depends on how many pictures you expect to use and encorporate...

I used Apple iPhoto for my last trip, I printed a book with roughly 75 full color pages, hardbound and with shipping it turned out to be around 95 dollars. I like the Apple program because it gives you a lot of flexibillity, I am pretty handy with photoshop and was able to bring a lot of Disney items into the pages and set up.

I did the same thing...I had about 4 or 5 days after our trip to make it.
It is not the easiest thing in the world to do.
There are so many layout choices & I like to make sure I include all of the photos that I want.
Also, you have to make sure that the photos fit into the frames.

Somehow it makes me feel better I was not alone in my over-zealous card registration!

I had another variable to deal with - my dad insists on having that yellow date in the corner of every picture (refuses to change the setting on tthe camera!) so I had to crop all of those out - took me HOURS! My biggest fear was that in my bleary eyed creating I was going to mis-spell something and order it like that! :dazzle:

Ack! I bought a MacBook Pro months ago and would looooove to figure out how to make iPhoto do that sort of thing. I'd like to also use my TR's and make those into adventure books. I need to take the time to do more tutorials. I was telling the old man just a few days ago that I need to take the time to learn more about this computer. I know it does all sorts of cool stuff. I need to learn how to utilize it better......

Thats great to hear, I have always wondered how the photos and all turn out. We have never ordered any of them but its always something we talk about so thanks for the comment about the photopass book, we may just have to look into it the next time we head down to the World!
