Totally agree with everyone's comments. I did not mean to come off too negative. My kids do not know those characters but that doesn't mean other people don't enjoy them. I would rather go somewhere I know my kids will recognize everyone. For the price of these meals I want them to embrace every character
Before we went on our trip, I "prepped" my kids. We watched tons of Disney movies - especially ones that pertained to characters or attractions we would see in the parks. We even watched Pete's Dragon - I had a proud Disney momma moment when my 3yo daughter recognized Elliot in the MSEP!
My SIL had gone with her young family to Disney before we had gone and they knew nothing about the characters. When they were showing me pictures of their trip, my niece didn't know the names of many characters they met. (Merieda was "an Irish girl"; Eyeore was "the donkey"; Belle and Aurora were "Beauty and Sleeping Beauty" ; Chip and Dale were somehow both "Alvin"
