Opening Day (It's baseball time)

I know this is a Disney site, but are there any baseball fans here? Anyone excited for Opening Day (the one day every team still has the hopes that maybe this is the year for them)?

Me, I'm about to settle in to watch my game. Good luck to everyone else's team (but not too much luck, of course :ROFLOL:)!

I was so bummed that the Red Sox game was not played since I was off today and could have watched it. I know I live near Pittsburgh but I'm having a hard time being a fan when they traded Jason Bay. I love him! I am happy that the Pirates won. Hopefully they will have an ok season.

Opening Day jitters for Sabathia? Wow.

I was also bummed...but actually a little happy about the rain-out yesterday. Now that the opener is at 4:05, I should be home to watch most of it.

Great game too!

Yipee!!! Rockies off to their usual start, just getting edged out 9-8 in a real pitchers duel to the D-Backs.:rolleyes:

Just like clockwork...they will throw April, May, June and half of July away before they decide to get it in gear.:brick:

I know, I know...it is only one game...:fork:

Yeah, who would have figured Sabathia would have jitters. I have been very busy in the off season so I am behind on a lot. What does your rotation look like this year? Come to think of it, I am not entirely sure what the Yankees rotation is yet.

Well, our 5th man hasn't really been decided and probably won't be until the 5th game.

Right now, it stands like this:

1. Josh Beckett (hopefully he's back to his old form)
2. Jon Lester (This kid's story should be made into a movie...just awesome.)
3. Daisuke Matsuzaka
4. Tim Wakefield.


Now, will the #5 man be Clay Buchholz or Brad Penny?

Buchholz had an AMAZING spring. I think his ERA was 0.50 or something like that. Something was wrong with him last season though, only time will tell if he got it out of system.

I'm so happy the Mets won Opening Day. It was a good game, and no bullpen flops. However, I didn't like how they left so many runners on base.

It's a 17 game plan. Not a ton, but just enough for around 2-3 games a month. They're spaced out so that even working full time, I can get go to all the games. They also include the hardest games to get tickets for: the world series ring ceremoy tomorrow, 4th of July, the Red Sox series and at least one game of every series with the rival Mets. Next year I'm going to try out a half season plan.

Go Braves 2-0! WOO. I just hope they don't plan on relying on the home run all season like they have in the first 2 games. You can't expect to hit homers every night.
