There's like three or four misers complaining about it. Why, i don't know. You guys always get the best stuff out there. Be thankful

People have different tastes. Speaking as a local who regularly visits, I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say the “best stuff.” There are a few of us here who expect better.

But anyways, this thread is mostly positive, pertaining to the event itself.

The complaints in this thread prove that some Disneyland fans are perpetually bitter and unpleasable. You guys get the best Halloween event in the states, complete with a truly superior nighttime show, and still find a way to moan endlessly.
Honestly, I think Disney fans have been conditioned as of late to be jaded/bitter. The drop in quality in the last 10 years (or more depending on who you ask) is obvious, and while there are a few examples of nice things, such as Oogie Boogie Bash, Disney's track record leaves a lot to be desired, and I think it'll take a lot for Disney to get on people's good side.

Basically, I like to be positive, but the negative aspects can't be ignored either. It's not all sunshine and rainbows at the Mouse House.

Yes I know. We just lost the greatest fireworks show on earth last night for yet another meh production.

ROE was a great show, don’t get me wrong. But it was a lousy fireworks show that had nostalgia pushing it along. I mean. There were amazing choreo moments... but I’ve seen many many better fireworks shows.

ROE can get away with that since it was originally made for the Millennium Celebration at Epcot and used to run alongside Tapestry of Nations in 1999 and was originally going to be temporary. But it became a hit with guests.

The Villains Grove looks nice and should definitely be done for the party. However, the Oogie-boogie bash still doesn't hold a candle to Knotts Scary Farm or even the day time Knotts Spooky Farm. It feels like a missed opportunity to extend Villains Grove over to GRR. Similar things could be done on that ride to complete a spooky land.

I attended the party last night and I was very impressed. Between having more characters out and the treat trails having villains this is the most characters I’ve ever “met” at any party on the coast. I loved the villain focus, villains grove was spectacular. WOC was enjoyable and I loved the villains first appearing as neon outlines. It’s a very nice special edition of WOC, but I’m glad I get to see the normal one this trip too. I very much appreciated being able to show up 10 min before both shows and snagging a spot in what is usually the dining reservation area.

I feel like this event is very much tailored to Disney fans as much as families which makes it perfect for CA. I don’t think it would ever move East to DHS as it would be really hard to spook up the studio park for a more adult event, however I do think Animal Kingdom would be perfect to create the atmosphere they did at DCA (it even lends itself to a great name Oogie’s Jungle Boogie) but it would require a upgrade in the ROL tech to have more rigs capable of flame effects (a proper Halloween show requires pyro) and because of the low ride count they would need to do proper shows in the FotLK and Nemo theatres. Personally, I think a Samoan fireknife show would work quite well in Africa, and Nemo could host a NBC show (I’m thinking a slightly truncated retelling if the show complete with live signers.). However something like this is unlikely to happen with current management.

2021 nights are sold out online. have tickets been available on the day of event? I’ve got people who’ve slacked off buying and now want to go.

Whoever that Cruella is, she's spot on from the look to the voice. Agatha's fun too; again, love the video wall use there.

I hope this is Sid's first and last appearance at OBB. I'm getting Michael Keaton vibes more than anything. 😂

I liked that they tried it, but I agree Sid is just off. Perhaps next year they could for Ernesto de la Cruz, or Syndrome or something.

Bring out the Hopper animatronic and make it interactive... haha.

Agatha and Cruella are brilliant.

When the teaser was released I thought Sids toys were going to take over the pier. Wouldve prefered that.

Bless his heart, he's really trying. I hope they just get Lotso here next year, or even a huge Spider Baby puppet in his place if they must insist on a Toy Story villain/creepy character.
I do like that they went with Sid. I personally would have never expected his character in the parks, so it’s a welcome change from the usuals we see every single day. I think the actor does a good job, he just looks too old.

Fair enough; I guess I don't really think of Sid as much of a must-see villain. It'd be like putting Darla from Finding Nemo and having her shake bags of goldfish in front of us. 😂

I can think of plenty of other Disney villians, why not the Horn King from Black Cauldron? Stromboli? The mom from Tangled?
I mean, at least for Pixar Pier, the villain should be Pixar-related; as already stated though, there's so many engaging villains you could pull from that would translate well in the parks - Lotso from Toy Story, Syndrome and Screenslaver from Incredibles, Ernesto from Coco.

I would LOVE a Mother Gothel; I never thought about how little she's ever represented during Halloweentime.

this is off topic but I went to HHH at USH last night as part of a preview and it was.....ok. The mazes were ok, I liked the Haunted hill house whatever its called new one the most. Luckily there was no crowd at all with it being cast preview night, lines were 20 mins at most, but theres only 5 mazes and we were in and out of there in about 3 hours. Im sure with crowds it will take much much longer, they had ques set up for miles but they were empty. Had a ton of actors all scaring people, 100s of people must be part of the HHH cast, the park was full of them, and that was cool, but the whole experience was....just not that much to do.
