Only Lincoln will speak at HoP?

Not to mention the Finale show, in which the Top 7 most popular Ex-Presidents as voted for in the day's preliminary "Hall of Presidents Experience" shows compete. The winner of the Finale Show will get the coveted "Golden Ticket" which earns that president's robotic likeness a seat in the Senate.

It's like the best Fastpass EVER!

What about touch screens? We can have touch screen put on every seat. We can then press the name or face of which ever president we want to hear speak. Of course, the president will appear in a flash animated scene. And at the end, your face will be superimposed on the president's body. We cannot forget the trianlges that will light up the inside of the theater.

Only the following should have speaking parts. Rotate them in and out to change the attraction

George Washington
John Adams
Andrew Jackson
Abraham Lincoln
Theodore Roosevelt
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Harry Truman
Dwight Eisenhower
John F. Kennedy
Ronald Reagan

You got the top ten there, give or take 1 or 2...but you could change the attraction so they all get some face time here and there.

I like the idea and your list, though I would add Jefferson. If it had to stay at 10, I'd boot Adams.

Did Nixon really speak at the Contemporary? Captain Hank mentioned Nixon's history with WDW earlier. Is there some backstory involving Disney and Nixon?

His famous "I am not a crook" speech was held at the Contemporary Resort on November 17, 1973 and broadcast live on television.

What HoP is clearly missing is character interaction. It either needs Stitch or a Pixar character to make it real Disney.

In all seriousness, I don't think the current president should have a speaking part unless it's so neautral that it's almost meaningless (such as the classic presidential speech ender "God Bless America"). Whether or not the statements are political, the interpretation always will be.

No matter what you do, you'll never avoid people being partisan about what is meant to be a non-political attraction in the current climate.

Leave it to the top 10 Presidents to do the speaking.

And what most people don't realize is that Chef Micky wanted him to help out and he actually said, "I am not a cook". But in the emotion of the times people heard what they wanted to hear.

Nixon also played the piano on Nashville's Grand Ole Opry the night that they moved the show to the "new" Opry House from the Ryman Auditorium in 1971(?)...

Anyhow, back to Disney and presidents: Ronald Reagan's second-term inaugural parade (1985) was moved to EPCOT Center due to severe weather in Washington, DC, at the time.

Listen to Clinton and Bush and their speeches are far from policy view and instead speeches about America. Obama's will be the same. A speech about America is as neutral as you can get.

I don't know about that, after watching the John Adams series on HBO I was really surprised how the majority of our government was formed by his ideas. I'd get rid of Jackson, Truman, or Eisenhower before Adams or any of the others.

I thought about getting rid of Truman or Eisenhower, too. I guess I'm a little sentimental toward both...Truman for de-segregating the Army, Eisenhower for his military-industrial complex warning that looks so prescient now...while Adams' actual presidency (as opposed to his life as a whole) seems like such a failure.

There really is only one fair answer to this problem....
Let all of the presidents, former and current speak! The show could have, like, one showing per day and lunch can be provided! Yeah, or maybe it can be a $150 all day buffet! Yeah, you check in in the morning at the podium up front and they give you a flashing vibrating thing and you hang around until it goes off and your table is ready, then you just stay there all day and listen attentively to every president speak one at a time while grazing on Donkey Nuggets and Elephant burgers. Green Party Salad Bar! Indepent party-roni pizza! Libertarian lasagna! And it will be generating revenue instead of just taking up space like Pleasure Island was. Oooh, oooh, oooh! Hall of Presidents Club! Congre-loosh!

I agree about that, but it would be interesting to have something said about the ideals that our government is and was based on and the two most likely to do that would be Adams and Jefferson.

Now I see why they close these threads.
Kinda makes you feel like :fork: towards people you ordinarily wouldn't think twice about.
I think I better just leave this thread and not come back. Disturbs my radically liberal calm.

Well, folks...we can debate economics, or we can keep the thread open. Personally I was enjoying the discussion of how different presidents have related to Disney over the years.
