IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE TAKEOVER
A mysterious, but somewhat familiar voice crackles through the air: “Come in. Do you read me? We’re gonna need to test your skills before we take you, alright? Give me your best ideas for this and I’ll show em to the boss.”
“Pitch a new E-ticket attraction themed to a Disney IP for
Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure.”
You may use up to three sentences and one image for your submission.
This prompt is due by 10:00PM EST on July 7th.
The Incredicoaster is evidence that the pandemic is only an excuse; as “financial troubles” were all over ALL of Pixar Pier and beyond.Remy's Wild MouseAs part of Paradise Gardens' revamp into an expansion of PIXAR Pier, Goofy's Sky School is turned into a brand new coaster inspired by Ratatouille. Since Disney is currently having some financial troubles due to a certain pandemic, the retheme is done on the cheap, with plywood cutouts of rats and giant kitchen utensils and food scattered around the attraction being the extent of the theming. But the vehicle spins now, so there's that (and please don't point out that Remy is a rat, not a mouse, so the ride's name isn't nearly as clever as Disney thinks it is).

No, it's great! I haven't gone into a lot of specifics on how prompts work for ICABW yet (more information will be released soon), but usually your goal is to provide a good attraction while still meeting the requirements of the somewhat wacky prompt. So in this case, your goal was to create the best possible IP E-ticket for Paradise Gardens, which you did perfectly!I'm now realizing my initial submission might not match the satiric nature of ICABW given some of the other submissions...
I mean, they were already basically bitter exes in the original film.A new animated mystery series that acts as a remake/reboot of the original Great Mouse Detective now set in a Steampunk London where Basil, Dawson and Olivia work together to solve various mysteries. The first season will follow a similar plot to the original film featuring Ratigan as the head of a new evil organization intent on ruling all of Mousedom, and in an additional twist to the show Ratigan and Basil where once partners in the past adding to a rather tense dynamic between the two.

Disney has a long history of scrapping plans, in fact you could probably build a whole resort from every single scrapped idea that they have had over the years. Your job? Revive one scrapped idea and modernize it for today's audiences. Feel free to use any scrapped plan from Disney rather it be an attraction, a show, a hotel, a restaurant, etc. Utilize this link to easily find a list of all scrapped plans:

Revive and modernize a scrapped Disney plan.
Since there's going to be a lot of submissions this round it would be really nice if for future submissions you quote or mention the blitzes that each submission is for in the title as it would make my life a lot easier when doing reviews, ratings, points and what not.TOONTOWN TRANSIT:

Wanna go visit in Toontown? Yes you are, you'll riding with Gus the Bus (who wanted to be a movie star) take a wild tour around Toontown, make wrong detours like zooming into the Los Angeles streets, crashing a movie studio, almost swallowing by Monstro,
Roger Rabbit's crashing into the bus ceiling, many Toon cameos make appearance, and more! Opened in 1994 for Roger Rabbit's Hollywood at Disney-MGM Studios.
Turning Paradise Gardens into a Pixar Pier extension is definitely something Disney would do. I love the whole Pixar-worlds-collide idea, and a trackless system would totally fit this concept. This one gives me some nostalgic Disney Infinity vibes.PIXAR PALOOZA!!!Because Iger wants to, he’s turning the rest of Paradise Gardens Park into an extension of Pixar Pier! Replacing the useless Goofy‘s Sky School will be a very IP-centric trackless dark ride with all of your favorite Pixar characters! Join Woody, Mr. Incredible, and Joe from Soul as they end up meeting and discovering a wormhole where characters from every film come out (also this totally supports the big Pixar theory)!

You went a bit over the sentence limit with this, so be sure to keep an eye on that in future submissions. A Goofy's Sky School retheme makes perfect sense for a Roger Rabbit coaster, and the character-themed vehicles are a nice touch. I also like how you picked a symbolic opening date!ROGER RABBIT'S CRAZY COASTER:
View attachment 569175
Based on RollerCoaster Rabbit short, join Roger Rabbit and Baby Herman on mayhem wild-crazy coaster as Maroon Cartoons filming a new cartoon short called RollerCoaster Rabbi to filmed at the carnival near by the boardwalk, it will have sharp turns, drops and crazy gag effects such as explosion, smoke, ACME gags products, water and more as audio animatronics. This will retheming for Goofy's Sky School. This coaster vehicles will themed to Roger Rabbit characters such as: Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman, Jessica Rabbit, Mrs. Herman, Benny the Cab, Bongo the Gorilla, The Weasels, Eddie Valiant, and Judge Doom. It will opening in 2023 to celebrating Who Framed Roger Rabbit's 35th anniversary.
Music score will be by Bruce Broughton.
I like the focus on action here. There's definitely such thing as too much action, but I think that this attraction is short enough that making it more intense wouldn't feel overwhelming. I like the enclosed Clammobiles idea for effects! That's something that I don't think has been seen with an Omnimover before.Ariel’s NEW Undersea Adventure
The bane of gnashers and armchair imagineers FINALLY gets a massive overhaul to make it a more intense ride featuring many of the intense and action-packed scenes from the feature film that had been ignored for the monotone original, which include Ariel’s sisters, the shark chase, the burning ship, Triton’s rampage, the kitchen panic, and the final brawl. In addition, animatronics, projections, mist effects, lighting, and paint quality have all been upgraded, and Clammobiles also enclose when “underwater” to provide bubble effects to riders, and Melody has been added as an infant to the final scene of the attraction.
I've always thought that this sequence from the movie would be perfect for a roller coaster or drop tower attraction. I do know that in the film, their descent to the lab is a tad on the "unthemed" side, but I think with a little embellishment it could make for a well-themed family coaster!TO THE SECRET LAB: STARRING YZMA AND KRONK
View attachment 569312
“PULL THE LEVER, KRONK”
Join your favorite characters from the 2000 Disney Classic, The Emperor’s New Groove, in Disney California Adventure’s the all-new attraction: “To the Secret Lab starring Yzma and Kronk.” This Rollercoaster will bring you right into the middle of the famous scene from the film, in which Yzma and Kronk invite you on a thrilling journey to the secret lab, where they plot their revenge on Kuzco. As in true Disney fashion, this attraction will revolutionize themed entertainment and delight guests of all ages; whiz past beautifully crafted visuals, and occasionally cross paths with Yzma and Kronk as your expedition to the secret lab unfolds.
Yet another awesome Tegan coaster concept! I think the theming is perfectly fitting, but I am slightly worried about the family-friendly reputation of the Muppets clashing with how this coaster may be too intense for guests of all ages. However, the transportation aspect of this is super unique and fun, and you can almost never go wrong with the Muppets!View attachment 569262
GONZO’S CANNON
The Muppets have invaded Paradise Garden, and this time it’s The Great Gonzo’s turn to be the star of the show! The ride itself is a modified launch tower, but rather than shooting guests vertically into the air, the track arcs over the entire lake, and even includes two barrel rolls! Guests board their vehicles and are shot out of a giant prop cannon before landing safely on the other side of the lake, making this the only attraction in any Disney Park to begin and end in two different locations.
This gives me some serious Looney Tunes vibes, and I love it! I like how Orange Bird is actually going to Paradise Gardens; that's a nice meta aspect. The scenes are really creative, and I feel like you could really have some fun with some speech bubble effects in the attraction. The gift shop is also a nice addition, since the entire attraction is based on a marketing character.View attachment 569288
To Milk This Character Who’s Merely A Food Mascot Even More Than Has Already Been Done, Orange Bird’s Not-Too-Good Getaway Follows The Titular Fruity Flyer‘s Vacation To Paradise Gardens, However Much To Their Dismay Many A Incident Ensues. The Dark Ride Would Have A Storyline Something Like This: Orange Bird Arrives Chaotically, Get’s Booted From Their Hotel Because “No Pets Allowed”, Has A Run In With A Giant Squid That Last’s A Few Scenes, & Eventually Befriends Said Squid As They Enjoy Some Sunbathing Together. The Ride Exits Into A Gift Shop Because Disney Wouldn’t Dare Make An Orange Bird Ride Without Using It To Sell More Merchandise.
This attraction gives me massive E-ticket vibes, which is awesome! The labyrinth aspect would be an epic queue, and the Oracle pre-show is also great. The underwater battle part could be insane with some special effects, and the ride system seems like a perfect match for this IP, as well.
Percy Jackson and the Fury of the Seven Seas, a brand new E-Ticket boat ride inspired by the Disney+ hit series Percy Jackson and the Olympians is taking over Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, Paradise Garden Grill and Goofy’s Sky School on Paradise Gardens.
The guests will enter an abandoned warehouse that is connected to Daedalus’ Labyrinth, which will guide the guests into Camp Half-Blood where they’ll meet the Oracle of Delphi, who’ll tell the guests about the newest prophecy that requieres them to embark on a perilous quest and fight alongside Percy Jackson.
This attraction will use the same ride system as Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure and will take guests through the Sea of Monsters and into the depths of the seas to Atlantis, where the guests will join Percy in the fight against Oceanus.
There's only so much you can do with a ride themed to a couple of fish, but man did you nail it. This is different than Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage in almost every way, which is fantastic. The ride vehicles are a good match for this attraction (making me think of the underwater section of Runaway Railway,) and the projection effects are an excellent addition. The interactive aspect reminds me of Horizons, which is definitely a good thing. This would be a fantastic E-ticket and a great addition to DCA.Finding Dory
SeaRescue
View attachment 569352
“Sigourney Weaver here welcoming you to the Marine Life Institute, the jewel of California’s Morro Bay, a rehabilitation center, a premiere aquarium, and the home to our new SeaRescue Initiative, where state-of-the-art submersibles allow guests to shrink down and talk directly to our fishy friends.”
Borrowing some design ideas from Tokyo DisneySea’s Nemo & Friends SeaRider, and smartly repurposing the Ariel’s Undersea Adventure aquarium facade and its surrounding walkways, Finding Dory SeaRescue plunges guests “underwater” in dry-for-wet trackless vehicles (enhanced with in-vehicle Musion animation projections), all on a tranquil journey through the Marine Life Institute.
What begins as a simple “edutainment” ride takes a twist when Hank the octopus commandeers our vehicles (aided by Nemo and Dory, naturally) to enact a mass rescue of the institute’s aquatic residents, with guests helping in the heist by redirecting pump flow and choosing one of several escape routes to the open ocean.
So you went quite a bit over the sentence limit with this one, sadly. However, the concept itself is fantastic and it might be my favorite concept I've seen from you. Paradise Gardens Park already pays homage to classic Disney with Silly Symphony Swings, and I feel like this would complement that nicely.FANTASIA: SYMPHONY OF THE STARS
View attachment 569369
Join Sorcerer Mickey Mouse to take a tour around based Walt Disney's Fantasia (1940) into the musical adventure such as the segment acts "the Sorcerer's Apprentice", "The Nutcracker Suite", "Dance of the Hours", and ", and "Night on Bald Mountain" This trackless dark ride make you very into the musical adventures of the imagination! The facade and queue will be themed to Pomona Fox Theater as interactive stuff as Yen Sid let guests choice what segments what to play during the ride with the loading area as This loading takes place within an abstracted, minimalist stone concert hall. In place of the traditional dark ride mural, here we find a velvet curtain with projected silhouettes or the orchestra members. They tune and practice their instruments. There is an uncontainable energy; the concert is ready to begin! Here, via screen projection is the silhouette of master conductor Leopold Stokowski. With "Fantasound" onboard speakers, riders hear the music begin to swell. Fantasia narrator Deems Taylor also appears over the speakers, introducing the ride’s first act: "There are four kinds of music on this Fantasia program. First up is the kind of music that exists simply for its own sake: Absolute music."
This is definitely realistic, and with the spinning aspect I feel like it's still an interesting attraction (even without a good budget.) The giant utensils would be fun for kids (who I assume would be the target audience for this attraction.) However, I'm not entirely sure if this would count as an E-ticket or not.Remy's Wild MouseAs part of Paradise Gardens' revamp into an expansion of PIXAR Pier, Goofy's Sky School is turned into a brand new coaster inspired by Ratatouille.

Again, as with @DisneyFan32 's second submission, the Oswald theming would pair nicely with Silly Symphony Swings. You managed to completely sell me on this concept in a single sentence, which is absolutely fantastic. The "Phantom of the Boardwalk" and funhouse theming are great - they feel like they could be part of an actual Oswald short.Oswald's Funhouse Frenzy!
Join Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in this demented mix of a dark ride and wild mouse coaster, where a simple day at the amusement park takes a turn for the worse as Oswald and Ortensia find themselves facing the "Phantom of the Boardwalk" inside a cartoony funhouse!
An amusement park setting is perfect for a DuckTales attraction! Also, Donald really needs an attraction to feature prominently in. This does feel a tad like Runaway Railway to me, but I’m sure the focus on the Ducks and the more aggressive use of projection effects would set it apart adequately.DuckTales: Madcap Boardwalk Chase!
Join Donald and his nephews Huey, Louie, and Dewey, and their fellow adventurous ducks in this "lost episode" of the beloved DuckTales reboot, when their seemingly normal day at the newly-opened Happy Lil' Quackers seaside amusement park turns for the worse when their enemies are, once again, up to their usual wacky hijinks to get rid of the Duck Family once and for all (don't they always say that?), in the first ride featuring the beloved Disney Ducks!
Replacing The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure, DuckTales: Madcap Boardwalk Chase! will be a definite fire-quacker of an attraction that will use the pioneering 2 1/2-D projection technology (used in Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway next door at Disneyland Park), 4D special effects, an original story specially created for the attraction by the reboot's showrunners Matt Youngberg and Frank Angones in coordination with Walt Disney Imagineering, and trackless ride vehicles, the first dark ride to do so at Disney California Adventure.

I like the idea of the interactive "choose your path" in the queue. The curtain projections are great and the Fantasound reference is awesome! You kind of dropped off with the description after the queue, but I don't think the actual music segments needed described too much anyway, and it's hard to fit so many songs in so few sentences.
