1996 - Let Them Eat Cake
wdw-birthday-castle-cake-1.jpg

It's the 25th Anniversary at the Walt Disney World Resort and you have been tasked with designing a new attraction for the Magic Kingdom.

-Challenge-
Design a new E-ticket attraction for Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom (it can be an addition or replace an existing attraction)

Bonus
-Post a 'Proposal' in the
Dream Wedding thread on any daily topic!

-Rules-

You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 image. The deadline is Wednesday December 8th at 9:00 PM EST. Look for feedback and results no later than 10:00 PM EST that night, along with the next prompt.

-Tips-
K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please!

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Is it (generally) realistic?
Does it fit thematically/visually?

Good luck everyone! If you have questions, please feel free to ask! Enjoy!

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas
1638759896924.png

Based on Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, after the movie was big success in 1993, Disney and Tim Burton will do collaboration for
Peter Pan-inspired dark ride called Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, as you'll riding Jack's flying coffins as the guests will flying into
Halloween Town, as Jack Skellington was planning to be Sandy Claws for Christmas Eve, but beware of Oogie Boogie because he will kidnapping Santa Claus for his evil plot, as listening into Danny Elfman's music score for the ride. There'll be awesome AAs, state of the art effects, on-board soundtrack on each coffin as narrated by Jack Skellington.
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was opened in 1999 for Fantasyland.

Here's loading area music (music score by Danny Elfman) Length: 7 minutes
1) "This Is Halloween"

2) "Kidnap the Sandy Claws"
3) "Making Christmas"
4) "Jack's Lament"
5) "Sally's Song"
6) "Oogie Boogie's Song"
7) "What's This"
8) "Town Meeting Song"
9) "Jack's Obsession"

Bonus: Woody and Bo Peep's Wedding https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-proposals-dream-wedding.975485/page-6

Robin Hood‘s Merry Journey

Coming soon to WDW’s Fantasyland is this new dark ride replacing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This wild ride tasks you as the favorite furry fox himself through the forests of Nottingham, but watch out for Prince John! This attraction is considered an E-Ticket because it also doubles as a shooting ride where you are shooting fake arrows at targets.

Bonus: The Proposal

Glory to Grulovia
8-30-2021_12-59-30_PM-hpviplyl.png

Replacing It's A Small World and its earworm song comes a trackless dark ride with another song that'll get stuck inside your head. Coming the mind of Gzesarevich Gristol Malik; future Gzar of Grulovia; this ride teaches Common folk guests about the Glory of Grulovia, the fall of the Fatherland, the perfidious and cunning frauds that are the Psychonauts lead by Ford Cruller that ultimately ruined the nation and robbed the royal family of their right of birth, the rearising of Grulovia with his saviors, Gristol Malik and Maligula, and reveals just how incompetent and illegitimate the Psychonauts are as to rely on children. Cast members will be required to be dressed in Gristol Malik costumes and the ride's gift shop sells all sort of Grulovia and Gristol related merch; including a twenty-five dollar plush toy with a real metal case.

The Little Mermaid: Ariels’s Voyage
Ariels-Adventure_Full_13918.jpg
Replacing the unfortunately aged 20K Leagues, Voyage of the Little Mermaid brings the enchanting story of Ariel on to guests on a boat ride set mostly indoors in two show buildings. This boat ride offers state of the art effects and AAs and bears witness to Giant Ursula’s demise followed by a POTC scale drop into an open-air lagoon; complete with picturesque views of Prince Eric's castle and the unique landscaping; and into the finale show building with Ariel’s wedding and King Triton’s blessing, passing underneath the rainbow before entering the unloading station. The new ride would come as part of a package of sorts with a TS restaurant in the castle, Prince Eric’s Village Market for TLM themed apparel, toys, gifts, houseware, and refreshments and a Duck Roundabout with Flounder and his colorful friends.

Credit to Ideal Buildout for the inspiration of an expanded The Little Mermaid ride and the restaurant in the castle. The POTC drop and the Duck Roundabout flat ride were of my own inventions.

Cinderella’s Royal Ball
D058BC78-9A3A-4934-B6D6-931E5E6B7279.jpeg

This trackless dark ride takes guests from Cinderella’s lowly beginnings of being the servant of her stepmother to being transformed into suitor at the prince’s ball (with a scene similar to Beauty and the Beast at Tokyo DL) to running from the ball and eventually having the right fit for the slipper. Projected lightning, music, and moving figures all add to this Royal celebration. The attraction is set inside a facade of Cinderella’s house.
Bonus: Aristocats Food Hall

This would be a very interesting attraction - themed around the holiday cult classic film. Overall I think an NBC ride is something that could potentially fit all year round

Belle's Enchanted Journey

entertainment-2015-01-beauty-and-the-beast-disney-main.jpg

Replacing the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Submarine Voyage is this brand new omnimover dark ride, bringing guests into the Beast's castle aboard magic carriages as they witness the magic in a "tale as old as time" as Belle and the Beast fall in love, told with state of the art animatronics and special effects.

Bonus: The Adventures of Raggedy Ann
A classic entry and one that would very easily fit into Fantasyland during this time. Nice choice

Ooh I really like this one - Robin Hood was one of my underrated favorite films growing up, and I could see this easily ushering in a new style of the Fantasyland Forest in the years to come.

This attraction seems more elaborate than the one we got in 2012, and I think could have given Fantasyland a proper E-ticket it deserves.

This is a little early for its time with the trackless dark ride - but I think is close enough to count right before Hunny Hunt. Overall this would be a fun addition to fantasyland and one that would give Cinderella especially her first true dark ride attraction.

Thank you everyone for the proposals! With that said, as with many of these One Sentence Comps, the margin between submissions is always so thin as there were many great proposals, but here were some favorites!

*Note everyone is getting a medal this round! Again!
