Ducktales: Woo-oo Plunge

maxresdefault.jpg

Deep beneath the ruins that lie below Toontown lies a cursed treasure that Scrooge has been tracking for years, in this mini drop ride guests ride in a excavation machine remotely controlled by Launchpad; in true Ducktales fashion everything that could go wrong does as the curse proves to be real dropping and rising guests through a shaft in the ruins showing our protagonists fighting off evil spirits.

Duckburg Tours

With the new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and the decreasing need for Star Tours, the vehicles will be moved and rethemed to become Launchpad's plane, each ride will be randomized to feature many of the magical locations shown in the new series and even some returning old favorites from the 80's original and the Disney Afternoon.

Good Morning Duckburg!
maxresdefault.jpg

This 3D show takes Dewey's infamous late night talk show (Dewey Dew-Night from the 2017 reboot series) and makes it into a morning show, featuring randomized clips from the dynamic citizens of Duckburg and a level of interaction beyond that seen in Monsters Inc: Laugh Floor!

A Ducktales Adventure~ McDuck McMystery of Toontown
1608613004216.png

A new interactive experience will be coming to Toontown, similar to the Duckburgs World Showcase Adventure, where guests will use the Tokyo Disneyland app to join Detectives Huey, Dewey, and Louie and search for clues after Scrooge McDuck mysteriously disappears.

Round Four Critiques:

@spacemt354 – DuckTales Mine Train
DuckTales is a series that has always had a sense of adventure to it and a mine-themed roller coaster is a good fit for the franchise. Paired up with some dark ride scenes, it could make for a fun family coaster. Nice building off of a trend that seems to have started in recent years thanks to the Seven Dwarfs.

@Ludpat Mike – DuckTales: Bin Bang
An attack on the Money Bin is a classic set-up for a DuckTales adventure, and this would be a lot of fun. Plenty of classic characters featured and the trackless approach would offer up some possibilities during scenes and give the land a solid E-ticket. Interestingly, it’d also be the park’s third trackless dark ride.

@TheSquirrel – Duckburg Bay
A water playground based around the Money Bin would be a neat idea for a play area. I’m not sure if proper water slides are as much of a thing for regular theme parks, but I do like the idea of each slide being themed to each of the nephews.

@Brer Panther – Launchpad’s Flight School
Launchpad is probably one of the most beloved characters from DuckTales besides the main Disney standards and a family coaster based around his flying mishaps would be such fun. Good use of the land, too, considering his antics would fit the really toony style of Toontown. Solid replacement coaster.

@Solaris Knight – DuckTales: Tokyolk Drift
Oh, interesting! I wouldn’t have thought of pulling from a specific episode like this, but by doing so, you can make a ride that can be more tailored for a Japanese theme park (considering that episode was filled with anime references in its Japanese setting). Besides that, the slot car dark ride tech would make for a thrilling drive.

@tcool123 – DuckTales: Woo-oo Plunge
A kid-friendly drop tower ride would be another neat way to give some thrills befitting Scrooge McDuck. I feel like more kid-friendly versions of drop towers aren’t that common of an attraction and it would offer a fun vertical experience as a counterbalance to the more horizontal twists of Gadget’s Go Coaster.

@TwilightZone – Duckburg Tours
Launchpad’s plane is definitely a classic vehicle from DuckTales and this simulator would make for another great way to show it off. I like the idea of randomizing locations to pass through, even some from other Disney Afternoon shows. The reboot series has been steadily introducing references to those other shows, so it would make a natural sense.

@kmbmw777 – Good Morning Duckburg!
Now, this is definitely a left-field pitch! While thrills and excitement are a part of DuckTales, the characters have always been fun and the recent show has done a lot to develop characters such as the nephews. Dewey’s talk show has been a fun recurring bit and would offer more possibilities in terms of these “interactive character” shows.

@NateD1226 – Funso’s Fun Zone
This would make for a pretty versatile play space in Toontown. You can cater to a selection of things with the Fun Zone, like an arcade, classic playground fare, and even the Meet and Greet potential you mentioned. Also, kudos for rewarding those who take the time to explore Funso’s and discover its secrets.

@b-wolf95 – The McDuck Treasure Vaults
Toontown may have a few walkthrough experiences, but the McDuck Treasure Vaults would make such a great attraction for this. There’s so much potential for fun references to the history of DuckTales for fans young and old to spot. Plus, who could resist a chance to jump into the Money Bin?

@Pi on my Cake – Follow the Money!
Oh, this is interesting. A neat way to pull guests into an adventure, with them discovering these jewels and coins right under their feet. It would offer a neat reason to explore all over Toontown and explore its corners searching for these stolen treasures.

@Disneylover152 – A DuckTales Adventure: McDuck McMystery of Toontown
This is another neat little way to immerse guests more into Toontown through the use of a mystery game. It does sound a little more basic, but working with the nephews would be plenty of fun.

Honorable Mention:
@b-wolf95 – The McDuck Treasure Vaults
Honorable mention is a place for recognizing striking pitches that don’t quite hit the mark in the core prompt, and this walkthrough attraction does capture such an iconic place well. It’s just that Toontown has a fair number of walkthrough attractions already, which is why this gets an honorable mention.

Bronze Medal (1 Point):
@TwilightZone – Duckburg Tours
While I think Star Tours could probably still stick around at parks that lack Galaxy’s Edge, a simulator ride based around Launchpad’s madcap flying skills would make for a really fun experience.

Silver Medal (1 Point): @Ludpat Mike – DuckTales: Bin Bang
This may be a simple pitch at heart, but its ingredients work well. A classic set-up, memorable characters, and the fun possibilities with the trackless dark ride format could make for a real adventure.

Gold Medal (2 Points): @tcool123 – DuckTales: Woo-oo Plunge
Drop towers are an attraction type that don’t often receive a kid-friendly spin that often, but DuckTales is an IP that offers some room to explore with that. Its sense of adventure and thrills is the right spot to dabble with that, along with giving a unique attraction type for Toontown.

Round Five: Gravity Falls

MV5BMTEzNDc3MDQ2NzNeQTJeQWpwZ15BbWU4MDYzMzUwMDIx._V1_.jpg

Speaking of television, Disney has gained a whole batch of incredible original cartoons over the years. The teen spy adventures of Kim Possible, the imaginative laughs of Phineas and Ferb, the serious drama of Gargoyles. One in particular that stands out is Gravity Falls. With its mix of heart, great laughs, and a story that wasn’t afraid to get a bit creepy, it’s no wonder that the series earned a devoted fanbase.

Considering the show’s woodsy locale, Grizzly Peak at Disney California Adventure seems like a natural place for Grunkle Stan to set up shop.

-Prompt-
Pitch a method of implementing Gravity Falls at Grizzly Peak in Disney California Adventure. It can be an attraction, a restaurant, whatever you wish.

-Rules-
Use only a single sentence to describe your idea. You may also use one image if you wish. The deadline is Wednesday, December 23rd, at 11:59:59 PM EST.

-Tips-
KISS – Keep is simple, silly! With only one sentence, you can’t get too detailed. Think of this as an elevator pitch.

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Is it realistic?
Does it fit visually/thematically?
