Round Four Critiques:
@spacemt354 – DuckTales Mine Train
DuckTales is a series that has always had a sense of adventure to it and a mine-themed roller coaster is a good fit for the franchise. Paired up with some dark ride scenes, it could make for a fun family coaster. Nice building off of a trend that seems to have started in recent years thanks to the Seven Dwarfs.
@Ludpat Mike – DuckTales: Bin Bang
An attack on the Money Bin is a classic set-up for a DuckTales adventure, and this would be a lot of fun. Plenty of classic characters featured and the trackless approach would offer up some possibilities during scenes and give the land a solid E-ticket. Interestingly, it’d also be the park’s third trackless dark ride.
@TheSquirrel – Duckburg Bay
A water playground based around the Money Bin would be a neat idea for a play area. I’m not sure if proper water slides are as much of a thing for regular theme parks, but I do like the idea of each slide being themed to each of the nephews.
@Brer Panther – Launchpad’s Flight School
Launchpad is probably one of the most beloved characters from DuckTales besides the main Disney standards and a family coaster based around his flying mishaps would be such fun. Good use of the land, too, considering his antics would fit the really toony style of Toontown. Solid replacement coaster.
@Solaris Knight – DuckTales: Tokyolk Drift
Oh, interesting! I wouldn’t have thought of pulling from a specific episode like this, but by doing so, you can make a ride that can be more tailored for a Japanese theme park (considering that episode was filled with anime references in its Japanese setting). Besides that, the slot car dark ride tech would make for a thrilling drive.
@tcool123 – DuckTales: Woo-oo Plunge
A kid-friendly drop tower ride would be another neat way to give some thrills befitting Scrooge McDuck. I feel like more kid-friendly versions of drop towers aren’t that common of an attraction and it would offer a fun vertical experience as a counterbalance to the more horizontal twists of Gadget’s Go Coaster.
@TwilightZone – Duckburg Tours
Launchpad’s plane is definitely a classic vehicle from DuckTales and this simulator would make for another great way to show it off. I like the idea of randomizing locations to pass through, even some from other Disney Afternoon shows. The reboot series has been steadily introducing references to those other shows, so it would make a natural sense.
@kmbmw777 – Good Morning Duckburg!
Now, this is definitely a left-field pitch! While thrills and excitement are a part of DuckTales, the characters have always been fun and the recent show has done a lot to develop characters such as the nephews. Dewey’s talk show has been a fun recurring bit and would offer more possibilities in terms of these “interactive character” shows.
@NateD1226 – Funso’s Fun Zone
This would make for a pretty versatile play space in Toontown. You can cater to a selection of things with the Fun Zone, like an arcade, classic playground fare, and even the Meet and Greet potential you mentioned. Also, kudos for rewarding those who take the time to explore Funso’s and discover its secrets.
@b-wolf95 – The McDuck Treasure Vaults
Toontown may have a few walkthrough experiences, but the McDuck Treasure Vaults would make such a great attraction for this. There’s so much potential for fun references to the history of DuckTales for fans young and old to spot. Plus, who could resist a chance to jump into the Money Bin?
@Pi on my Cake – Follow the Money!
Oh, this is interesting. A neat way to pull guests into an adventure, with them discovering these jewels and coins right under their feet. It would offer a neat reason to explore all over Toontown and explore its corners searching for these stolen treasures.
@Disneylover152 – A DuckTales Adventure: McDuck McMystery of Toontown
This is another neat little way to immerse guests more into Toontown through the use of a mystery game. It does sound a little more basic, but working with the nephews would be plenty of fun.
