What Disney IP do you wish had more representation at the parks?
G-Force, the cinematic masterpiece. Picture chase: A wild mouse hamster rollercoaster where guests are riding inside a hamster ball on the lookout for a place to host a dance party. This rollercoaster will be replacing Cinderella's Castle in 2021 in time for the 50th Anniversary. The ride ends with a dance party with all of the amazing characters.

Backstory, hands down. There’s something about getting to write characters and story that tie elements together and that you can build subsequent stories around. As fun as the other stuff is, nothing beats writing a good backstory imo

For those curious, I'm big on designing attractions. I like figuring out how to tell a story within the confines and techniques of a theme park ride format. It's also fun when working from an IP, trying to capturing the core elements or feel of that IP.

I was unclear on that. I thiiiink it's an animated remake not a fourth. But I could be wrong.

I love trying to think of general land details. The little touches that elevate it. Book Covers instead of movie posters with the Library entrance was my favorite thing I did in 1986. Along with the trash cans lol.

Also, obviously I am IN! Love the One Sentence Comp!

I too love finalizing the little details at the end just as Pi does (I mean, my DisneySky project has trash cans & railing & etc. planned for each land). However, I also love planning out the programmatic aspects of a park/land in advance. Creating a realistic balance of attraction types and supporting elements, because without that sort of preplanning it can be extremely easy in Armchair Imagineering to create a park with like 20 dark rides and little else.

All of it. Depends my mood it seems. Some weeks I really like making backstories, other weeks it’s making a stage show, etc.

I try to have a wide range of “skills” so I love playing around with different aspects all the time!

Hello there, fellow armchair imagineers! It’s time for Season 6, Episode 2 of that beloved pitching program…

The One Sentence Competition!

I’m your host, DashHaber! For newcomers and familiar faces, the One Sentence Competition is one of the simplest games we have around the forums! It’s designed to be a casual challenge you can easily take part in. No elaborate write-ups, no major teams, no serious commitments here! All you need is a good idea, and the ability communicate it clearly!

Here is how it works: each round, you will be given a prompt. With one to three sentence and only one picture, you will come up with a short pitch that you think captures the idea. At the end of each round, I’ll offer comments and critiques of all the submissions, and then deal out the points!

Every submission automatically gets 1 point. I will also award bronze (1 point), silver (1 point), and gold (2 points). In addition, I’ll pick an “honorable mention”, for any submission that didn’t make the top three but still stood out.

At the end of all eight rounds, I will announce the winner, who will receive bragging rights and the choice to host the next episode of the One Sentence Competition!

Now, onto this episode. Recent episodes have been featuring a theme for the competition, and this one is no different. However, it features a bit of a twist. The theme is… “Opening the Vault”.

Normally, the prompts that challengers are given lay out the type of park addition they'll be developing: a new ride, a restaurant, whatever. Not this time. Instead, Disney has a wealth of IPs that they have built up over the years. However, some of it is barely featured in the parks, or not used at all!

This time, you will be given a Disney IP along with a particular land at a Disney theme park. With that, you will have to come up with how to implement it! It could be a ride, a restaurant, or even restrooms. What sort of approach is all up to you, with the challenge being in how you use the IP. To be specific, I’ll be looking at how you try to capture the spirit of the IP, along with how this implementation fits in the assigned land.

What’s the first prompt? Stay tuned, dear competitors! The first round is on the way this Monday.

If I'm not late for the party I'm in! Is the picture necessary or just "highly recommended"?
