One Man's Dream Expansion?

This is the same park that has a 20 year old stunt show and just now got around to changing a ride that was supposed to be upgradeable and changeable.

The stunt show may be one of the worst offenders. The plant at the beginning. The intro of the chick.

At least Sea World eventually changes their bits every 6-8 years. Indy is the same bad from day one.

This drives me nuts about shows like Fantasmic as well. Why the Pocahantas segment hasn't been updated is LAZY.

At least BatB has allowed a few of the background characters to evolve into a slight bit more than wallpaper.

That being said, when an Ariel decides to "sing it her own way," it ticks me off. Don't freestyle the music.

I don't know, I think its an old exibit and that people in other parts of the world would like to see some of the artifacts.

Old or not, it gives some perspective into the mindset and process of Walt Disney. And unlike some people, not everybody has a chance to get down to WDW every few years (or more often), so being able to visit this attraction is actually enjoyable for those people.

Moreover, I'm sure that there are enough artifacts to be able to build this attraction at each of the Disney Parks.

I think they just plan on updating the attraction more often so when they say "coming soon", it may just mean that the future is coming because it's on that timeline wall.

I think they needed to expand OMD to include Walt's dream of building The Timeshare Kingdom of the World!

(Seriously, I'd love to see Diane tell the world how much she enjoys seeing TWDC using Daddy's famous interview where he explained why he built DL to shill for timeshare sales!)

I love OMD as well. MY daughter was 3 her first time she saw it and loved it too, movie and all. She knows exactly who Walt is and gets excited when she sees him. :) girl after my own heart

Without Walt...

none of us would be having fun in the parks if it wasn't for One Man's Dream!
Without Walt there wouldn't BE any Disney parks
Interesting...
If Walt had his way there would never have been any other parks...
His Florida project was to build (the) E.P.C.O.T. (experimental prototype community of tomorrow), not "Disney World". He didn't even want to build the Magic Kingdom, but he had to, to get the financing he needed for EPCOT.
Now if Walt had lived and had his way, then EPCOT would have been a community and I wonder if any other parks would have ever been built, and I would have been a whole lot less happy.

Now I would like to think that Walt would appreciate what became of his project with Eisner building the 3rd and 4th parks and all the beautiful resorts and all the other parks around the world, and the cruise ships; and all the billions of people who have enjoyed them all. Walt DID establish the foundation of quality, detail and innovation that the Disney organization still revolves around.

I don't agree. Whenever we see the attraction we always say that it should be manditory that all WDW guests see this attraction so that they can appreciate what one man was able to dream, visualize, and build. It is a very good tribute to Walt Disney.

Because at the end of the day, none of us would be having fun in the parks if it wasn't for One Man's Dream!

Good heavens, yes. One Man's Dream is always a must-visit for me when I travel to WDW. ALL of the parks should have some version of it. It's a fascinating, inspiring and touching film. The exhibits surrounding it are awesome too. I'm glad it's being refurbed and apparently expanded. I can't wait to see it again with all its new features next time I'm at the World. :)

So no one knows about this supposed expansion then?

I had a feeling that when the wall went from "coming in Fall 2011" to "the legacy continues" that the budget and/or the timeline had slipped for the project. I had hoped though since when OMD reopened "Fall" was only about 2 months away that it would be too close for them to let it slip like that.

I agree with this. I love the concept of OMD, but can't help wondering if there's a better spot for it than DHS... I agree the Odyssey building seems perfect for it, since one could say that Epcot is sort of the final realization or resting place of Walt's dream, and is arguably a physical extension of the optimistic and progressive mentality which drove it.

I belongs back in the Magic Kingdom, as "The Walt Disney Story," as Roy first envisioned it, in the Exhibition Hall on Town Square. It should be there permanently -- in the park that was dedicated to Walt and on the street associated with his childhood and his design.

While I agree with this, having it connected with the Animation area in Hollywood Studios is a positive association as well.

I 100% agree with this. The spot in DHS is sort of hidden and really sandwiched between Pixar Place and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Not a great location for it. I say move it to the MK on Main Street where it belongs and then tear out the Narnia attraction and that whole building/area gets freed up for expansion in DHS too!

Why would you want them to do this?

One Man's Dream, or something similar, should be in EVERY Disney theme park. Without Walt there wouldn't BE any Disney parks!

Pretty much what I was going to say. Walt was done with theme parks, he accomplished what he set out to do and had moved on. That said, we cannot say if he would or would not be impressed with how the medium has changed and been pushed.
