Once you go Disney, you don't go back.

There is bad theming at Universal?

Not trying to start another debate, but I think Universal Studios and especially Islands of Adventure have some of the best theming out there. Every "island" at Islands of Adventure is so well done and amazingly themed. Especially Lost Continent, WWoHP and Port of Entry.

The Studios themselves are really well-themed also. I really feel as if I'm walking through New York or Hollywood. And have you ridden Revenge of the Mummy?! Best themed roller coaster in the world if you ask me.

Dude, there's really no point in trying to convince others Universal is a worthy theme park to visit. I think we need to give up.

You're right. I feel like everyone probably secretly enjoys going there but pretends not to like it!

It really is an amazing place... I just don't get it. :(

They probably do! Just afraid to admit it.

I love Universal and always will. Others don't have to get it, it's fine. More for us, they're the ones missing out. Universal is only getting better and I'm going to continue giving them my money.

Now I really want to go stay at the Hard Rock for a few days and enjoy the parks... Blah. :(

Except you go to the one in Hollywood right? I want to go to that one for the Studio Tour and see where the movies are really made! :D

Sounds like a good idea to me. I want to go now too, but I'm not feeling well today. I'm curious, how much are the APs out there for Universal?

Yes, Hollywood's my home. You'd love the studio tour. That comes first, before attractions. I don't even refer it it as a theme park. I just tell people you can tour the Universal lot and ride a couple of rides and see some shows as a bonus. One of these days I'm going to put up $250 and take the VIP tour of the lot.

Britain doesn't do water parks....
Well, I know of one at Alton Towers but it's never warm enough to even think about going to it. For me it's Disney or nothing!

Both BG parks are great. I prefer BGW - there's a reason it keeps winning the "most beautiful themepark award". Great rides and amazing landscaping - themeing is very good but a bit short of a Disneypark. Still a great park to visit. Apollo's chariot may be the best coaster I've ever ridden.

Apollo's Chariot is my favorite coaster of all time! Such a great ride! I do agree that BGW was kept up nicer than the one in Tampa.

High standard? Management in Florida won't even take the time to fix their broken animatronics and a yeti that hasn't worked in years. Universal certainly isn't "lower standard". Gosh people, get out there and explore other places because Disney isn't perfect, at all.
omg...just be quiet. I am done fighting with you "bashing WDW" people when you are on a Disney forum and have a Disney profile pic.

Please don't tell me to be quiet. I can say what I want. No one's bashing anything. The truth hurts, that's it. So in order to be true fans, we can't speak the truth about things Disney does wrong? That makes no sense. The truth is the truth.

Okay, Disney is #1. Thats some truth. Get over yourself. And do you think Fans of say One Direction or Harry Potter say they can't sing and need to work on that or the books should have been more entertaining? I don't think so. I rarely talk bad about Disney and I was a little upset with what you said when you are on a Disney Fan website. Not just you, but alot of people on here don't seem like fans, let alone true fans. I talk about Justin Bieber like you talked about Disney because I am not a fan

I think you should be the one getting over yourself if you think Disney is perfect. Like I said, broken effects aren't perfect. A comparison between a book or a boy band and a company is the same thing. It's rare for fans to like every single song their favorite musicians have recorded, or enjoy every single scene in their favorite books. Horrible comparison and you make no point whatsoever. Fans should be able to criticize what they love without other people saying they're not real fans. Even Walt Disney was sometimes criticized his own work.

What's that saying? Nobody and nothing is perfect. But there is always a #1 and #2, and you and I both know Disney is #1 because there is proof. And I thought my comparison did make a point. I have been to Universal and I just don't like it as much. That is all. Have a magical day!:)

Schools still on holiday or do crèches have computers now too?

My nieces start back to school in Alabama on Monday. All the schools will be trickling back into session between now & Labor Day/1st week of September. I guess I should give some thought to starting my boys back up again... LOL!

Yay.. finally people praising Disney and not "doom and gloomers" I love the mouse. I brought someone for the first time last year, and revisited it through their eyes. Everything was amazing, incredible and perfect.

Then I ended up coming home a DVC member.. Because I "needed" it.

I am glad I joined DVC.

Its all about priorities.

The thought comes to mind, and it builds. Your antisipation grows to a fever pitch and you ask the family, if they want to. They never seem to say no. You take the time and go online, you look for your resort, or you decided to forgo that one for something different. You pick the new one and look up reviews at WDWMagic.com, you like what you read but want more info and hit other website with pictures and reviews from non Mouse addicted "regular" Joe's and make your decision. You go for the new resort.

You just get the feeling again, that feeling of something new at the World, and you feel like its the first time over again, that first trip, that first high you keep trying to chase.

You make your reservations. You read up about O'Hana, about how everyone raves about it but you never have been there and you're lucky to get a ADR for the place on your second night.

Again, that feeling...

You get ready to board the plane, and yeah, it sucks you're stuck in the back in coach, you might not get an overhead compartment for your bag of Disney Tee's and boxers, but you're going to Disney, it don't seem as bad, you don't push, you don't rush, you're in the Disney Zone, 2 hours from now, all is good in the world.

You get through the plane ride with the crying babies and old man in front of you who keeps farting the whole flight. You get your bag, you jump on your DME bus, you watch the video again with the poor dubbing.

You dive by the sign, you get on that what seems to always be fresh looking black top road and you take a deep breath, you're there you say to yourself. You look at your family, your wife smiles, your daughter rolls her eyes, and your son is trying to look up the young ladys skirt two rows back. You tell your daughter with a mild smirk, " Come on", and promptly yank on the hair of your son who begins to sit forward and asks if we are there yet.

Checking to your resort, the feeling of the bad of the world escapes you like smoke in the wind. You ask your family if they are hungry and they never are, they just want to go to a park, Magic Kingdom they conspire, so you get ready for the day, and then you walk to the Transportation and Ticket center to take the boat over. You get to that point where the Monorail is to your right, the Poly is to your left, and in front of you is the Magic Kingdom in the distance, and you can see Cinderella's Castle.

You take a deep breath, smile and say to your son, " Hey buddy, NOW we are there yet..."

Been to both and have enjoyed both. But in my opinion only, there really is a "magic" in the air at Disney that cannot be duplicated. My first trip was at age 9, and now headed there at 49. The feeling is still the same.
Liked Universal alot, but I've done it and can skip it, at least for this trip.
Something I read made perfect sense, "Universal is an attraction, Disney is an experience". That at least summed it up for me!

We have 2 water parks here in Maine and one of them is pretty rapidly expanding. They added 6 new slides this off season alone, 4 racing slides and two slides when you get in a capsule and the floor drops out from under you and you go plunging down (one is a straight shot down and the other goes through some corkscrews) It's a combo waterpark/ amusement park. The amusement park is small and has one wooden coaster and a wild mouse style coaster. We went to the amusement park a couple weeks ago at 10am and were gone by 3:30pm. There's not a ton there worth repeating. The other waterpark here is pretty small.

Sadly... WDW has ruined my going back to them. My son wants to go try the new water one where the floor drops out because the TV commercials that have been playing non stop have him psyched out for it... but I can't get thrilled about the "Less than Disney rides" in the rest of the parks. :( Besides, theres no parades, no characters, no great shows, fireworks, I could go on and on and on. SIGH.... Disney is the only place for me.

I haven't really been to any water parks since going to the great ones at WDW. Typhoon Lagoon takes the crown for me.. nothing, besides Blizzard Beach really compare! :D
