On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

What i’m saying is that in practice a tip is the difference between having staff or not.

I get what you’re saying about semantics and oxford English...but you know we Americans are terrible at English🤪...

Trust only what we do...not what we say. Tips are salaries for tens of millions of service workers. Because it’s better for the business owners. And so it shall be.
If it was such a bad structure the people who live off tipping would be the ones demanding the structural change to the salary structure of the business, but they are the ones most opposed to it because they know it will mean a big pay cut for most of them. It is why servers quit en masse at restaurants which change to a non tipped based salary structure.

If you don't like tipping or believe the continued existence of tipping is the man taking advantage of the working masses, you can show your displeasure for tipping by not patronizing places that it is expected. It is that simple. There are plenty of other options where tipping is not expected in the US, even at WDW.

Is this going to turn into another anti- American thread. If Europe does things so much better why don’t you all just move there.
I would have stayed the last time I lived there had my temporary work contract not expired. If you want to do it legally, you can't just get up and move to most of Europe. They don't really want us...

I'm not anti-American. I served for 10 years in the army defending this counrty. I just wish sometimes that we would try a little harder to do better. Perhaps be aware of what others in the world do, and learn from both their successes and failures, rather than just assuming everything here is great and nothing should change.

EDIT: And not be so sensitive to suggestions that perhaps we could do things a little better.

You exited the highway before me...that’s not what I’m saying.

...except that gratuities in place of salaries is good for the employers. Absolutely 1000%

I paid for it. And then sadly gave up Sunday matches when I discovered Saturday night beer, nightclubs and women.
I played a couple years with a group that had a quasi rec league in which players would come and go at one of our local parks in my younger days. I don't think any of us were particularly good, but it was a lot of fun. A British and a Irish immigrant set it up and were running it back then. They were by far the best players despite being at least a decade older than most of us. We played on Saturdays so you could still do the drinking and socializing on Saturday nights.

I played rugby once in my life. We were in Kosovo, and some of the guys I knew in the army who were rugby players wanted to put together an ad-hoc team for a friendly game against the British army team. I thought, hey, I played football for 8 years, rugby should be OK.........

...The game was a massacre for the hastily assembled US squad. I had fun, but I felt like a truck ran me over the next day.

It was their biggest win against the Americans since the battle of Brandywine Creek 🇬🇧
