I'd keep the WL reservation for two reasons......You are visiting during the holiday season and the WL is extra special during this time...the decorations are amazing and fit in so well with the theme of the resort. And if I am not mistaken, your kids are very young......right? If so, you will be very thankful for the boat transportation to the MK.

The first time we took the kids to Disney was in 2005, we got quotes from AAA for Boardwalk and Olde Key West. Key West was $1,000 cheaper for the six of us and we loved it! We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and lots of space. In 2006 we went again and stayed at POR, they said it would hold 5, it does but it was terrible. I will take Key West anytime!

We stayed at OKW back in June, the studio we stayed in had 2 queen size beds and more room than WL. If your staying in the "lodge part of the hotel " they also have 2 queen beds or (some rooms have bunkbeds but are priced higher. If your'e staying in the villas, they come with a queen bed and fold away that sleeps 2. also get a micrwave and dorm size fridge.WL does have great decorations during the Christmas(yes Christmas, not holiday) season.

Hi there, I have stayed at the OKW in a studio and have not stayed at WL, but am familiar with the set up. I will at first tell you it is two completely different resort choices. As far as square fotage goes, OKW has 376 square feet in a Studio unit, WL has 340 square feet. Some of the Square footage in the OKW unit goes to a VERY large bathroom, however the vanity ( Sinks, mirrors etc) are inside the bathroom, WL has a set up similar to most of the resorts in that the vanity area is outside the actual aera for the shower & bathroom. In the OKW setup you will have a efficiency kitchen with a microwave, kitchen sink etc. In WL you will have a coffee maker and that is about it as far as kitchen type stuff goes. You will NOT have a washer dryer in either unit as they dont come in the regular resorts at all, and in the DVC properties they are only available in the one bedroom units and higher. WL Has the advantage as far as being closer to the MK. Also once you walk into the WL you dont need to exit to get to anything and there are several dining choices in this resort including a super fun one, Whispering Canyon. OKW only has the one sit down restaurant, Olivia's. I think there might have been one quick service place, but I didnt get there so I cant comment. The one thing I wasnt crazy about with OKW is that the place is HUGE!!!!!! I Mean really HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! even after the bus drops you off, you may have a hike to get to your room and not all of the areas are paved, meaning to continue walking on the sidewalk, you have to cross the street etc. OKW Is set up much more like a condo community and is pretty large and a bit confusing for us first timers. I think I would have been a LOT happier with a car in that resort. I havent had any problem walking at WL like that as everythig is connected and indoors. Of the DVC properties OKW is the only one at the Studio levels that would suit my vacation needs so that would be the only choice there, but given choice , I would select WL. Belle
