We're in the midst of a pretty loud celebration here too. We had the TV on so my mom could watch the PBS fireworks show from washington, so we turned it up so she wouldn't hear the racket outside.

My son just yelled out, "c'mon fireworks - I'm trying to go to sleep". My daugher passed out about 15 minutes ago. They both have fans in their rooms so the windows have the stay open. My husband is in the air conditioning with the dog - they can't hear a thing!!

eh, just chuck an M-80 into his room - he won't even notice the noise outside anymore.

OK, I'll let you borrow one this time, but from now on you really need to be prepared....

just sayin'

My daughter told me to remember to get ear plugs next year. How 'bout central air instead? Who's with me?

Holy cow - I think they've finally ran out of ammo.

It is a well known fact that zombies are irresponsible when handling fireworks.

Question for the day: Did the Ingalls brats ever go to college, and if so, have they been attending classes at this school? Hmm...

GREENSBORO — A bat found on the campus of N.C. A&T State University tested positive for the rabies virus Monday.
This is the 10th case of confirmed animal rabies this year, according to the Guilford County Department of Public Health.
The bat was found on the floor in a classroom and was removed safely for testing. The bat had no contact with any people or animals, according to the health department.
Report stray animals, animals acting strangely or exposures to sick animals to Animal Control at 641-5990 in Greensboro or 883-3224 in High Point.
If bitten, wash the area with soap and water, seek immediate medical attention and report the bite to local Animal Control Officers, the health department said.
The department offers rabies clinics, with $5 shots that provide protection for one year.

Speaking of teens, I wonder if these youngsters ever made something of their lives. Ah, those wonder years can be a challenge.

Trust me, I was a horrible teenager. I'm still alive, so that counts for something, right?

As the middle child of 7 kids, I really felt the need to push the envelope during my teens. It's funny, the 2 of us (my next older brother and myself) were the biggest headaches to our parents then, and are probably the most responsible adults now.

Push the envelope? I ate it for breakfast.
