Sooo I finally got around to taking pictures of the veil, not that they came out that great. After my fiasco visit to the craft store, I decided to just use matching trim to cover the comb that attaches the veil to the hair, so it looks like this:

the sides and bottom are trimmed with the same "trimming, except that I beaded them with alternating crystals and pearls. The picture doesn't really do it justice, but it looks like this:

Stunning. The beadwork must have taken forever. I get cramps in my thumb just looking at it! Photos never convey the beauty of handcrafted work. Your daughter-in-law to be must be ecstatic.

Thanks.
She hasn't seen it in person yet, but she'll be coming here tonight. Tomorrow's the final fitting for her dress - I can't wait to see it with the dress.

That's going to be lovely when there are leaves on the trees. Being an outdoorsy, nature kind of girl, I honestly like that site very much. :)

Are the kids Star Wars fans?

There's something about an outdoor spring wedding that just warms my heart. Such a beautiful setting for their new phase of their lives to begin. It's just perfect.

Isn't EVERYONE a Star Wars fan?! :D

Our leaves are just popping out here, so we're hoping they'll be out there by next week - they seem to be a little behind us. It's really very pretty - right on a lake. It's actually the camp I went to every summer as a child, so Dave and I were raking and cleaning up there the other day, and it just brought back a ton of memories.

As far as the Star Wars thing goes, my son is an uber fan and always has been. He used to watch the original 3 when he was about 2 years old (before they re-released them). We had borrowed and copied them from the library, and he used to watch them almost daily. While other kids his age grew up on Sesame Street and Barney, his heroes were Luke and Yoda. He learned to read using Young Jedi books. Originally the wedding was going to be in April, but when he realized that May4th was a Saturday this year, they booked it for then. While there won't be any obvious SW references in the actual ceremony, he will be wearing SW cuff links with his tux, and the cake topper is an uber-cute SW character one. The fan site sent them some stuff including light sabers, so I suspect that they'll be included in the pictures afterwards.

the early ones(4,5,6) I am a fan of but not the newer ones (1,2,3)
I agree. Definitely better. I can do without 1,2,3 and would prefer if they didn't make any more, but I'll be one of those people who complains before they release it, goes and sees it, helping it make millions, and then still complains.;) Star Wars fanatics are a touchy group.
