It keeps changing over here from rain to snow and back, so at least it's not accumulating. It's pretty cold though, and I hate it!

did anyone have this toy like I did?
i loved this way back when

This is the first generation of children who might not understand the term "clockwise." We have been noticing it at regattas when we tell them to get into a clockwise pattern in the warm-up area.

Teenagers/young adults don't wear watches anymore - they just look at their phones. My daughter never did get the hang of telling time, but it isn't an issue in her world. She uses a digital clock/watch, or her phone, for an alarm/timepiece.

I'll bet Betty has also seen a wringer washer in use (my mom had one) but has never had to use one as an adult. And what can be more fun than taking down frozen clothes in the winter, or hanging them on clotheslines strung in the cellar? Technology marches along.

It always amused me when I was teaching that middle school kids couldn't tell time on a "hands" clock (as they called them). Since we didn't allow them to have their cell phones with them, they were really at a loss to figure out what time it was.
and yes, I remember wringer washers - both my grandmothers had them, and that was high tech back in the day (I also remember my great grandmother using a washboard to scrub laundry). As far as frozen clothes on the line, that was pretty much my entire childhood. we didn't have a dryer til I was in high school.

Thanks for bringing back all those nightmares Marcia, now hand me my walker and I'll get out of your way.....

My daughter asked me what "clockwise" meant the other day - when I explained it she got this "aha" look on her face that was really cute. They still have clocks with hands in all of the classrooms in their school and we have one in the kitchen. It runs on battery so when we lost power and our cellphones we dead it was quite a blessing!
