Oh, those poor Ingalls girls...

So quite an eventful day today. Called guest services at Splish Splash yesterday about getting a rain check since they closed the park (they issue them if it closes and doesnt reopen that day) and they said the window was already closed and I should call today - so OF COURSE I did - and they said if I came down before close of business today they would issue us rain checks. Total proof that it NEVER hurts to ask!!!! So we trekked out there and now we can go back before school starts for free!! 
Hit the Disney outlet while I was out in Riverhead so it was a total win/win day!
My mom took the drive with me and the kids, just for kicks. When we got back my daughter said, "so when are you two going to start talking about Disney? I'll start - do you think they should build a 3rd Dumbo?" Umm - no - but questions like that make me think it IS time for her own wdwmagic screen name!!

Congrats on the rain checks! You do realize that this means that we'll have this crappy weather now 'til school starts?

I KNOW!! I can't take off this week since my lone co-worker is on vacation so that just leaves the following 2 weeks. The park closes for the season 9/3. My guess is this upcoming week is going to have phenomenal weather then its going to be cold and rainy for 2 weeks.

Just keep it on Long Island please, or better yet send it to the midwest - I understand the corn is in a lot of trouble out there.

10 miles isnt that far for a quick ritas I am between 2 one is 6 miles away and the other is 9 milesThanks - and OH NO - the closest one is 10 miles away!! Guess no late nite Rita's runs for me!!
We have Ralph's Italian Ices on Long Island and they are EVERYWHERE so I can stave off the cravings there!

It's not an easy 9 miles - with traffic and all of the lights it takes about a half hour from me to that Rita's, believe it or not!!! It's funny - a friend and I were talking the other day about how Long Island is one of the only places where travel time is communicated in minutes, not miles, because you can't get ANYWHERE without encouuntering traffic congestion and tons of traffic lights!
