I know the Cubs/Marlins had at least a 64 share localy (ratings.. I think each share equals 33,000 households here in Chicago) most of there GAMES!!!

Now... I bet the world series will pull a 19... maybe a 20 or 21 nationwide.... That is pretty low.

Honestly...I would say that the WS brings in even less...

Is anyone really interested? Granted...fans of the Yankees will watch...but the Marlins have a tough time filling their stadiums PERIOD let alone have a huge following on TV. I for one have no interest in this series and I'm a huge baseball fan...and it's not just because the Red Sox aren't in it...this'll be the first one I don't watch...other than the Subway Series.

I can understand Cub/Red Sox fans not wanting to watch, but those two series were so much fun, I can't image people not wanting to watch this series. Either way, us bandwagon Marlin jumpers will sit back and enjoy it. :D

Gary, its not just us Cub/Sox fans... its just been the downward trend in the WS ratings since 1998 nationwide.

I like to root for the underdogs... so the Yanks just dont really interest me... and thats why I was pulling for a Cubs/Sox WS.

I can Honestly say... that a Marlins/Yanks game will bore me to tears...lol BUT!!... But, if I did HAVE to pick a team to root for... and if I were going to watch... I'd root for the Marlins over the Yanks anytime :)

Hopefully, it won't be too boring. How about the Marlins in four? :drevil:

It was a good game! The series may not pull down ratings as good as the LCS's, but it isn't because the baseball isn't good. The Marlins have as an exciting team as anyone right now. Pudge is playing excellent baseball. Beckett is pitching well. They have some exciting young guys and they play with heart. If thats not fun to watch you aren't a baseball fan, you just follow a team.

By the way, I'm a Cardinal fan but I am rooting for the Marlins right now.:)

Ha-Ha I was right... neener neener-neeeeeener  j/k ;)

I was dead on though :D :zipit: .... game one pulled in a 20 share last night in the nation wide ratings.

Florida's 3-2 victory Saturday night got a 10.9 rating and 20 share, Fox said Sunday. It was the third-lowest for a Series opener, topping only San Francisco's 4-3 win over Anaheim in Game 1 last year (9.4) and Arizona's 9-1 rout of the Yankees two years ago (10.4).

tigsmom, yer a class act...I know it must be tough rooting for Goliath when so many people try to devalue your team's accomplishments simply because they've done it all before. I'm a Braves fan, and, like most people outside NY, I rooted for the Red Sox like crazy last round, buuut....I've moved on. No, the Series doesn't really interest me personally, but I would get annoyed at people throwing the "boooring" factor in my face if I were a Yankee fan, like you should feel guilty for your team's success or something. Kudos to you, as a classy fan (and go Marlins!) :animwink:

A monkey could have called the fact that the ratings would nosedive with this series matchup. Don't think you invented sliced bread with your prediction.

And I would LOVE to see the Yankees win another World Series (that's what tigsmom was saying with her :zipit: :zipit:  I translated for her).
