Thanks for this info. Does anyone have an idea as to why WDW has not posted anything on it's consumer website? The only indication that something unusual is going on is found on the monthly calendars for the theme parks. On each month, Sat Sept 4 simply says 'closed.'
I have read several reports on other sites, such as mousesavers, advising the status of the cruises and bookings, etc, but no such news on disneyworld.com. The other sites also direct guests to "...please DO NOT call Walt Disney World regarding vacation packages, room reservations or Priority Seatings for dates after Tuesday, September 7."

Wouldn't it make more sense for WDW to post Hurricane Frances updates and information for their guests on their own website rather than relying on others? :veryconfu

It is on the Disney Website, but in pop-up form. You must have a pop-up blocker on your computer. If you want to see the notice just disable the blocker.

Peter ~ Thanks for clearing this up for me. We have recently installed a new firewall which also eliminates pop-ups, so that's it! Thanks again.

Really, as much as the news is covering the hurricane, disney doesn't have to say why they are closed. Now that the conventions are over the news is slow again. So expect to hear alot about Frances and then here comes Ivan. Dan Rather cannot control himself.........floridians, take care guys.....

With all due respect and not meaning to making light of the subject...

...I bet the Game room at the Contemporary Resort's Food and Fun Center is going to be one busy place for the next two days.

:lookaroun Cindy-K Where are you? Are you still at Disney in a resort? My Grandson and Daughter are at Port Orleans/ French Quarter- I am home with our three cats and babysitting the house. Boo Hooooooo

Just wondered what they have done for you-- Nothing is happening where they are, in fact they closed the game room and food court at 4:30 :goodnevil

That was very suprising seeing the weather was fine, no rain they said, just overcast and a little cooler-- Hummm great park day-- figures-- I guess they are playing it safe. I understand they all have homes and things to take care of too. However, it is a little disapointing.

We thought they would have a free buffet or sandwichs or something BUT nothing. They were told to buy snacks but that does not last to long- ARGH!!!!

Hope you are Ok and are not tired of watching the same movies Ha Ha They should really have a few others. Take care!
