A great example of what these threads are about. It matters not that the quality of the shot may be a little fuzzy, the subject matter is terrific and gets across the joy of being at the parks :D

Last i understood before i got too busy to personally run these contests was that the whole idea in participating was to have fun. Right from the get go, me, MSU, and MKT wanted to do photoshop contests but were very much aware that not everybody has an art degree, but we wanted them to participate none the less. More often than not have I seen people win THOSE contests who's best talent is originality (rather than artistic ability), and that was just fine. Its all fun. Even when we started offering "Prizes" to the winners, it was all still just for the sake of a good time.

Now...ok..I see the point of the argument, and both sides have their strong opinions on the matter. The best defence I can give and I guess the only thing i can point out is...no where in the contest rules does it state the seriousness of the contest. Meaning..theres no "No Joke Entries", or "Only serious considerations"...but then again...the seriousness of the entry is really based on the eye of the beholder.

As for "pre-judging" before the contest is over.....thats always happened since day 1. For whatever reason the person feels...but remember this..its just a comment..and who knows..they are not garunteed to be voting for the one they say they are (in fact, youd be suprised at how some people here vote).

So in conclusion...I must remind everybody that this is in fact a DISNEY FUN forum...theres no cash rewards involved, nor is everybody here a pro. Just relax and have fun..thats the purpose of all of these.

If there are any more questions regarding this matter, just PM me and I'll be glad to discuss it with any of you.

Thanks!

Guys, Can we please let this rest? We are a very diverse lot and we will never all get along. A joke to some may not be one to somebody else...
this was supposed to be a fun way to share our photos (good, bad or indifferent) and our love of Disney.

Passion for what we enjoy is a good thing, but I think we've lost our way...
if you feel that you must address what someone has posted could you please do so in a positive manner or take it to PMs. Thanks.

Now, any more photos? Anyone?

Welcome home, Mad. Glad to see your wisdom back among us!

I have to second what Tigsmom said. Let's calm down and enjoy the contests. I actually loved the Dole Float picture and figured it would win hands down! Guess I should have posted one myself... we always get several pictures that contain them in one fashion or another while we're at MK!

I love that shot! I love the family aspect of it, and the fact that it's a rainy day doesn't hurt. Rainy days are my favorite down there! :)

Thanks! I love that picture too. What makes it extra special is that it was my grandparents first trip to Disney World since the 60s or 70s so a lot of it was new to them. Although my grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins were just there for a day. They drove up from Venice to meet my family and teh 2 friends we had with us during our vacation.

Nice! I had purchased the first Digital Rebel but sold it in December. Not for lack of liking it but because I did not use it enough due to the size of it. I am in between selling and buying again. I had purchase the Sony DSC-V3 for it's speed but I was disapointed in the quality of the pics. So now I am leaning towards the Canon Pro1.

Enjoy your purchase.

Well, I did a little digging into the past couple years of trips, and I have a suprisingly small amount of Adventureland pics. Nonetheless, I'll use this one from my WDWVV navigation pics.

Happy guests await a sail with the Pirates of the Caribbean!
