Im embarassed to say with as many blog's as I read about Disney I hadn't even heard his name until you posted it ... added it to my bookmarks. Thanks for the tip. :)

Kevin Yee reports about WDW, but he has nowhere near the knowledge and connections about WDW that Lutz does about DL.

jt knows that, he was just yanking your chain.

Not really. Yee has written several books on WDW, maintains a blog in addition to contributing to Lutz's site. He used to work at WDW and lives in Orlando. He also has a real job.

You are not going to find an Al Lutz clone for WDW. WDW is too vast to be able to cover with a couple insider connections. But all things considered, Yee does a good job. Even if I often disagree with him.

And we wait for D23......:lookaroun

Yeah, but does Yee have 2 hour meet and greets at D23? I think not.

[wake up sleepyhead, it was a joke.]

But if serious is required, when Yee has TDO fear him the way TDA fears Lutz, and when local mainstream media (tv and print) go to Yee for info like they do in OC for Lutz, then he will be "the WDW Al Lutz."

Until then, he's just a cool guy who writes cool articles about WDW. And unlike jt, I enjoy nearly everything he writes and rarely disagree with him.

You really have no idea what you are talking about do you? Do you really think the mouse fears Lutz?

Please. Or are you joking again?

No need to answer. You are trolling for I fight and I just hit ignore.

There could be an Al Lutz clone for WDW (no offense to Lutz who probably would contend he is a unique human being, blah blah blah). DLR has all of the same divisions as WDW, or nearly all, and whomever would be the Lutz-equivalent wouldn't have to know everything, he would just have to have a strong track record with his rumors. He could have maybe 3-6 inside connections and be fine. Maybe we wouldn't get all of the rumors about new dishes coming to Coronado Springs, or something like that, but as long as we got some of the big stuff, that would suffice.

At one point, I thought Jim Hill could be that equivalent. However, it seems he's really fallen off the radar. I can't remember the last time he had a substantial rumor.

Yee does a great job covering WDW, but I think it's fairly apparent that any inside information he has comes from here or is regurgitated from other sources.

Hill all but admitted that his contact(s) didn't survive the downsizing. His articles the past several months, as you said, are reflecting this.

Lutz erupts over IASW - Disney sends out Sklar to smooth things over.

Lutz' initial lukewarm reviews of D23 change to positive ones right around the time the D23 advertising banners appear on his site.

Those are a couple examples I can think of right off the top of my head.

I've said it before but it needs to be repeated. The big decisions are no longer being made in Orlando. If they ever really were. And the vast majority of folks in Orlando are no longer "in the loop". That is why we are told the FL redo was "forced" on TDO. That is bull. This is just the new SOP. I understand the big picture now. And I'll explain after D23...........if necessary.

It's not what we have been told. :lookaroun

so, if they were to announce major projects like ST2.0 and Fantasyland... i assume it's during Igor's keynote at 10 Pacific today?
Or is it Saturday at 11?

I think any announcements will be spread out over the weekend. I expect Iger will only hint at what is pending.:)

Fair enough.

Honestly, people have shut up about D23. I haven't gotten a lick of info about it. It could either mean a lot is coming about WDW, or nothing other than ST 2.

The only thing I could possibly see getting announced is Mermaid, not the full blown Fantasyland plans, those would get announced later. But I think that's wishing.
