I've stayed out of this conversation because I think you guys have had great points all around.

I just wanted to quickly comment on this point.

For the most part, anything that would be marketed at us would be marketed to the general population. All that the fans ask is that Disney goes over the top every once in a while.

Yea there's the nuts that expect an E-ticket every year or something like that, but some of us just want to see Disney break barriers and push the envelope every now an again.

DAK=Epcot, IMO. And they're the two best parks in Florida.
Quoted for truth.

Been there, done that, wish I had a HoP t-shirt.

You could have...

"I Survived the Hall of Presidents, thanks to Health care Reform."

-Or-

"I Survived the Hall of Presidents, and am now a Socialist."

-Or maybe-

"I Survived the Hall of Presidents, and I voted for Ralph Nader."

:lookaroun

Sorry, I could have a field day riffing on that.

1)There it is. Epcot is only for those that deserve it. :animwink:

2)Why would you market to 60,000 instead of millions?

Nodding to the minority and catering to them are two different things. I don't think the fans get that. I don't mean you specificall when I say fans.

Yeah that was a little hyperbole. I'm not sure what my point was now.

No I don't like his style. I think he takes all of this way to seriously. However, he does have some good points that are lost in his soapbox rants. I'm not really going to say anything more though. This isn't a thread about him.

If you are going to compare something to Walmart you have to understand what Walmart does. They are completely different business models and operations.

Walmarting is just a catchy term for "I don't like it". That's proven since we have two different definition in this thread alone.

I didn't quote anyone else, but I'm going to poke your crazy some...

3)DAK > EPCOT because it has a clearer message and has contributed tangible benefits to society. :lookaroun
1) Not at all. That's very narrow minded if you put it like that. I was referring to the fact of different and seperate audiences.

2) Like I said...Marketing. It's possible to do both of these things while still leaning to another group. Example? : Retro Merch. We buy it, I'm sure others do too. Retro-esque attractions? We'll like them...I'm sure others will too. It's not like it's an extreme thing thing where we hate everything new, and love the old. It's possible to like both. The thing is, Disney does not produce both. As I said...Only the new. It's better business to appeal to both.

3) EPCOT has an INtangible message- Just look at WS. Look at the meaning there. Look at SSE, Horizons. This is more of a belief or even a way of thought. Both are different....and....
DAK=Epcot, IMO. And they're the two best parks in Florida.

Equal. I agree here, in terms of message. Well said, Sean. They both address issues that are vital. Something amazing, really, to get this out of a theme park.

And Jake....;) Am I sensing that you are a bit of a DAK Fanboy?

Reminds me of when MK opened. George started out as a PotC CM but was promoted to a Test Track CM when it opened. Today, he works as a Kilamanjaro Safari guide.

Maybe. I understand Animal Kingdom and can also see the results of what they set out to accomplish.

However, I don't get caught up in the dogma of the delivery to understand that it is the results that are important. Hence, why I don't care about Jungle Book characters in Africa.
