October Role Call

Sorry guys but I had to start it. October is my favorite time to go to WDW! So who else will be there? When are you going? Where are you staying? Are you going to MNSSHP and if so, which night? If you're going, are you dressing up? Feel free to share any details.


We are going Oct. 7-15! And for the first time in all of our trips, we are staying off-site. We are going with another family who has never been before. They have 5 kids so it is more cost effective for us to share a rental house that is about 3 miles from the parks. Anyway, we are going to the Oct 10 MNSSHP, and can't wait. My 10yoDS is going as Jack Sparrow (of course) and 3yoDD is going as Snow White. Not sure if my 16yoDD is dressing up.

I think the thing that i am looking forward to the most is taking another family who has never been to WDW. I hope we can break them in well.

Hi All,

October 18th to 28th stopping at SSR for the first time as a DVC member. We love Disney and the people, it will be a bit like a busman's holiday though as we manufacture and supply many theme parks in the UK and the UK Disney stores with the rain ponchos, thousands of them so I hope it doesn't rain as seeing all those ponchos will make me go loopy.
We are really looking forward to it, and will be at Mickey's Halloween party on the 24th.

We are going Oct 21 - 29 staying at the Contemporary in the main tower. It's been 2 years since the last visit and we plan on going to MNSSHP either Oct 23 or 24th. Have not decided if we wil dress up or not. The fall is the best time to visit Disney. Oct is great because of NSSHP and then right around Thanksgiving is also a good time because you can take in all the Christmas decorations and not be bothered by the large crowds closer to Christmas. Looking forward to our trip and hope all of you going next month have a MAGICAL TIME :wave:

WOW, thanks for responding everyone!!! When I started this thread, I had no idea how many people were going in October. And yes, I agree, October is my favorite time to go to WDW. But I have to admit, the crowds are getting larger this time of year. About 4-5 years ago, the crowds were minimal, but since more schools are having fall breaks, the crowds are getting bigger. BUT, that doesn't matter, it is still a fantastic time to go!!! And to those who have not been to a MNSSHP, you will have a great time.

I will be there from the 17th-21st. Treating a family to their first trip. Staying off site with this family. My 2 almost 3 year-old can hardly wait, either can her daddy!!! I am so excited about watching a family with 3 kids, 12, 8 and 7 who have never been. They only think of WDW as one park, they don't even realize how much it really is. I was worried about crowds but from what I am hearing, they are not as bad as in the summer? Went last year in early November around Veterans day and it was a tad busy!

We will be there 9/30 - 10/7 and not sure if we are doing MNSSHP. We did it last year and loved it, but it did rain so we are waiting until the week of, to decide. If it doesnt rain we will go again. I couldnt stand another year without the headless horseman I have to see him since we missed him last year due to rain.

We will roll on to WDW property on the 29-sept. and check in at about 11:30 at All-Star Sports for one night. Then it is off to Wilderness Lodge in a honeymoon suite for one night to celebrate 9 years of marriage.(The WL is where we spent our honeymoon after getting married at Grand Floridian).
After that special night we move over to a two bedroom Boardwalk view with my DW family Sun. to Sun. Then we ship them back home and check in to AKL concie. level for two nights and order up some long massage treatments! Kinda like our Savanna Room get-away after a very crazy week!:wave: :sohappy:

If i missed anyone, just PM me or post your dates and i will add you. I thought this might be helpful if anyone wanted to get a meet-n-greet for trick-or-treat!

I'll be there from October 12-15 with two friends that have never been there and one friend that hasn't been there since 1992. We're staying at the Dolphin. We're not going to MNSSHP but we will be partaking in the Food and Wine Festival. See ya there!
