NYC Prices are too high!

$950 for inside stateroom for 2 adults for the 2 day NYC? You've got to be kidding. This is why we always end up on RCCL. I just can't justify that as much as I LOVE disney.

$1500 for 5 Day Canada

$2500 for 8 Day Bahama

We spend lest around $700 for room for 7 days at WDW.

Anyone finding better prices?

That is what I heard as well. I don't think the Canada is too bad with all things considered. The cruise to nowhere is an absolute joke...I can't believe there are people who are going to spend that for 2 days at sea.

When I first saw the itineraries I thought it may be a great way to introduce the kiddies, 5 and 7, to the cruising lifestyle - but not at that price!!! Canada is tempting - but I think I'd rather just save up for WDW.

I know people going on the 15 day to Hawaii for about 5k for the two of them. I thought it sounded like a lot at first, but in retrospect it really isn't any worse than a standard Disney cruise at about 166 per person per day. Somehow the NY to nowhere is 1.5 times the price per day.

I know people take the cruises to nowhere because they like to gamble. Rather than go to AC or up to Foxwoods, they head out to sea.

However since the DCL does not have gambling - I can't see who the 2 day cruise to nowhere would appeal to at those prices.

I am still debating the Canada cruise. We are cruising this year and I was not planning on cruising in 2012, but now that NYC cruises are available, hmmmm.

The 8 day Bahama seems pretty much in line with their normal pricing. That may be something I do in 2013 if they are still running that option out of NYC. It fits our DCL cruising pattern nicley

2007 - 3 day cruise
2009 - 4 day cruise
2011 - 5 day cruise
2013 - 8 day out of NYC ? - I think it's karma

Some prices are high, some are right on. I have compared all of my Disney cruises to RCCL, NCL and Princess and Disney is always within a few hundred. In the case of Alaska Disney is much cheaper for me with the kids sail free.

Hawaii already sold out.

I take it back. We were told it was but I see a couple of cabins open. Let's say it's about to sell out!

I thought it was a bit high as well. I was going to do the 2 day cruise but it was way too high for my blood. Then I looked at the 8 day from NY and 2 adults and a 1 year old was $3300 and I said forget that. Not worth it too me at all. I would rather just goto the World for a week. I can save on airfare but still high.

cruises are BORING and for old people... period. Stuck on a boat, I just drink all day... no idea how DCL is Disney, its a boat with characters on it.

So far I have taken 2 Disney cruises and have never slept more than 4 hours a night because I have been so busy.

and I bet you still didn't get to do everything that there was to do!
I did not. I can see being bored to tears on one of the fun ship style cruises where there is nothing to do but drink, dance and gamble but there is always so much to do on a Disney ship.

I really was excited when I heard about the Hawaii cruise. Its something my hubby and I were talking about. But We would need to take all the kids there is 5 of us in the family. It priced over 16k for the 15days. I just can't justify that. On NCL it was a whole lot lower. But its not Disney. *sigh* We just did our first cruise on the wonder to the rivera loved loved it!! I dont want to go on another cruise line. But the cost was just too much for us. Now the Fantasy has a 7 day to the western Caribbean and for the 5 of us its about
5k thats more in line what I expect. I know the hawaii was a 2 weeker but still still outragouesly priced for a family of 5

i am really debating the hawaii one. I am turning 21 in dec, and was thinking of going with a bunch of friends who are also turning 21 but i dk if i want to do the cruise to hawaii or just pick one of the islands and just do that. This is so hard does anyone know what parts they go to? i cant find it on the website. Also I heard the disney hotel in hawaii is opening soon. does anyone know what the rates are and its location ( I.E. what island and what major hawaiian city its near) this could really make this decision easier lol

Families of 5 are hard to do on the Magic and Wonder. The cheapest stateroom that sleeps 5 is a category 4. Its usually cheapernto get two inside or even ocean view rooms

They corrected that with the Dream and Fantasy.:)

I'll agree with Master Yoda. There is more than enough to do on a cruise. And since when I go I am the only parent, my drinking is kept to a minimum.

And I hate to burst your bubble, but there are minimal characters on a DCL cruise.

Don't take to long to decide! It's filling up.

It stops in Hilo, Kahului, Honolulu and Nawiliwili.

The Disney resort in Hawaii is on Oahu. About 30/40 minutes from Waikiki. It opens in August and looks amazing!

I agree. I was on a cruise for a seminar. The meetings were held while we were at sea, so I was busy all day. Otherwise, I would have been bored. And the fact that I was with a group of 60+ with a common interest made the evenings/dinners more interesting.

Of course, the weather was not very nice, either, so not much time on deck.

Not old, just vintage.
I'm one of those idiots who just booked themselves on the NYC cruise to nowhere. Inside stateroom for $418/pp. It will definitely be the most expensive weekend of my life, but I have never done a Disney cruise before. I figure this is the cheapest way I can find out if it is worth the extra money for a Disney cruise. I'm well aware I could go away for a lot longer on another cruise line for the same price, but I wanna see what all the hoopla (hoopla!) is about with DCL.
