Just want to let everybody know that I’m on vacation and I have a long car ride ahead of me and I won’t have service the whole time. I won’t be driving so I’ll hopefully be able to check up when and if I get service.

I'm game for technical stuff! I'll start looking into possible technologies to use.

Are we more or less settled on Shanghai Pirates as our base ride system?

So, anti-greed message. A hefty portion of "Stop stealing out land" mixed in if I'm not wrong.

Maybe the story could be about use being hired by a logging company destroying the land to build something. But we see in the queue notes and environmental storytelling that the head of the company was warned that this forest was Algonquian land and they rely on a Spring or something. He was warned that his greed will hurt others, and go on to consume him. Then as we head into the forest to start chopping trees in the ride vehicles (ignoring warnings to turn back, and seeing some other cryptids on the way as small references), we see the head of the company be consumed by greed and become the Wendigo. That takes us to the second half where we get chased by the Wendigo trying to consume us as he tries to consume all before being crushed by a logging machine, killed by a symbol of his own greed.

I'm far from an expert in what logging in the late 1700s was like, the Algonquian people, the Wendigo, or pretty much anything. But this was my first thoughts of trying to come up with a story for it.

Is this an origin story for the Wendigo or does the creature just manifest itself into whoever?

If I'm right, the Wendigo isn't a single creature. But something people become when consumed by greed. I could be wrong and there could be different versions though.

You’re correct. The Wendigo is a creature that is created after a person becomes consumed by greed and corruption (or consumes human flesh). In almost every legend, the Wendigo is some variation of this creature.

Cool. So, we could have a 1776 Ravenswood type figure get consumed by greed and try to attack us

Maybe rather than a logging company, the Ravenswood type figure can be a cryptid hunter that eventually becomes a cryptid himself? It gives us an opportunity to include other cryptids, it keeps the greed message, and the irony of it all is pretty great.

Another variation here would be guests being hired by a concerned family member to rescue the man instead of loggers hired by him.

Maybe the rest of his crew abandoned the project for fear of disrupting the Spring or hurting the Algonquians, but the Man went on. His family is worried about him, so they send us to find him as a search party "But beware, some say the Wendigo haunts those woods." We find the Man who was all alone in the woods choping down trees lost in his own greed. We get a Snow white's Scary Adventure style transformation jumpscare as he turns into a beast before out eyes.

That could work too. A hunter out for fame and glory, ignoring all warnings, consumed by his greed, becoming the very type of creature he sought to kill.

A quick tweak. If you ere shooting for 1700s, he should be a fur trapper, after beaver, but perhaps he sees an albino animal (considered spirits or sacred in almost every indigenous culture) and can’t help himself and that’s what turns him.

I really do want to follow my friend’s thoughts on keeping other cryptids at a bare cameo minimum just for respect sake

I agree with the thought on keeping any other cryptids to a bare minimum. There's plenty of rich mythology and ideas that come with the wendigo, which we can craft a good story around. If we wanted to, perhaps some of the queue might take us through this fur hunter's lodge, with notes referencing other cryptids.

Also, sorry I'm not as present this round. Life wound up getting a bit busy for me this time. If anyone needs any additional help or ideas, just let me know and I can help where I can.

If we do a gift shop though, I have some strict stipulations.

Under no circumstances can we sell Wendigo plushes, toys, etc. To sell cute versions of something so evil would be incredibly disrespectful. We could, however, still feature it on merch, it would just have to be through shirts and stuff

Does the gift shop fall under my stuff? If so, I'm cool with that, just wanted to clarify in case someone wanted to take this as their job.
