November Help

Hi everyone!

I'm planning a trip to WDW this November. I've never been that time of year, so I need a little advice. It's me, DH & our baby who will be 13 months at that time. Our biggest priority is to have small crowds. We usually go in early May, so we are used to reasonable crowds. F&W is not a big deal to us, so it's fine if we miss that.

What would be the best week for us to go? I was hoping to try to get in between Jersey Week & Thanksgiving Week. It seems like this year they kind of run together though. My research on Jersey week shows that it can be really crowded. With Veterans Day being a Sunday, and a lot of schools having off Monday, do you think Jersey Week will run a bit longer into Monday?

My other question is, when do Thanksgiving crowds roll in? Just a few days before, or the Saturday beforehand? If I try to arrive on the 12th, and avoid Veterans Day/Jersey Week, am I go to run into huge Thanksgiving crowds that weekend? Would it be better to be there over Veterans Day weekend?

Any advice is appreciated!

We have visited in November during Thanksgiving week & it was busy...I think if you go before Thanksgiving week, it will be less crowded.
It is nice to see all of the Christmas decorations!

I'll be there 11/24 - 12/1 and crowds will be mostly 5's out of 10's which is VERY do-able! Relatively "low" (if there is such a thing lol) crowds AND the holiday spirit along with Osborne Lights, the Decorations and Candlelight Processional - you CAN'T go wrong! Have a blast and maybe I'll run into you there :)

Another vote for post-Thanksgiving.

We went in 2010 the week after Thanksgiving and it was pretty good. Crowds weren't terrible and the weather was nice. I remember walking on several rides. We even were shocked when Space Mountain had a 10 min wait one day.

As mentioned, all the Christmas stuff is up and the Osborn lights are running so it's a great time to catch the Christmas stuff too.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I have been there early in December, years ago. I do remember it being a nice time to visit. We could leave the day after Thanksgiving and go that week. That's definitely a possibility if it would be a better time that the week between Jersey week & Thanksgiving!

We go the week BEFORE Thanksgiving week every year....

It's always been perfect.....Low Crowds,,,,Free Dining.....

That was our original plan - that's when we'd really like to go. I've heard such great things about that week. I just wasn't sure if it would be the same as years past, because of the 3 day weekend the week before Thanksgiving. We thought of arriving on Tuesday the week before Thanksgiving to avoid the 3 day weekend, but were afraid crowds would start to get really bad when it hit Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I was kind of hoping Thanksgiving crowds didn't begin until a few days before it. Any ideas?

Crowds somewhat begin on the Sunday before Thanksgiving....that Sunday has had EMH's at MK till 3am the last 2 years (our last night).

The week before has been so good to us we've never considered going any other time of the year.

Crowd levels are typically 2 - 3 the week before.....moving to about 7 on Sunday and 10 the wednesday before.

My family and I were there Oct 31 - Nov 6 last year, which happened to be the week before Jersey week. Monday to Friday was great, no lines at all. Weekend(Saturday) was busy at epcot(am) and MK(pm)

Thanks for the feedback! When Jersey crowds started heading in, it must have gotten busier. I didn't even know anything about it until I started researching this trip. I'm glad I looked it up because I would have booked Jersey Week. I would book the week before, but DH doesn't want our daughter to be away from Halloween. She was born only 9 days before Halloween in 2011, so this will be a fun year to dress her up with her cousins.

Hey there,
DH and I went the week before Thanksgiving. We checked in Saturday before Thanksgiving and check out Sunday after, and we stayed at YC during that time. The crowd levels at all parks were low, very low...like walk on and no wait. Until Wednesday afternoon. The parks started to pick up. Thursday, you are in full swing and the weekend after was busy. It was fun spending Thanksgiving there, but if you have the option of traveling at any time in November, you may want to skip the Turkey Day crowds. I don't know if you have touringplans and I can tell you the different levels if you would like. Send me a PM with the date options and I can tell you what they say.
