November / December Crowds

Hi

We have not visited since November 2009, and are thinking now is the time to return to our favourite destination.

Just wondering if anyone has any information on what the crowds would be like in early november or early december, avoiding Thanksgiving.

Also if we came at this time of year how much of the new fantasyland would be open?

Many thanks

Early November or early December should be fine as far as crowds.
We went during Thanksgiving week one year & it was pretty crowded.
I hear that Christmas & New Year's are the most crowded times to visit.
I think you will be safe as far as crowds go if you visit during early November or early December.

Beginning 12/8 - 6, 1, 5, 2, 1, 4, 7, 3

Thanks. I was just curious how touringplans rated that week.
I know the crowds will be low to tolerable at that time...whcih is why I'm going then.
I have a hard time plopping down all that $ and waiting more than 30 minutes for rides and attractions. I'd much prefer pull the kids out of a school for the week for good weather and low crowds.

Honestly, it's anyones guess as to how busy it will be. It seems every year it gets busier and busier. I've gone when they've said it's not busy and it was busy and I've gone when they've said it was busy and it was completely NUTS! In the last few years there has never been a time when the crowd levels have been low. I've gone in January, February, March, more recently September, October, November and December. They've all been busy. Basically, just pick dates and hope for the best! LOL!

Just be aware that some attractions are almost always over an hour wait no matter the season. These include:
- Soarin'
- Test Track
- Toy Story Mania

Others are nearly always over a 30-minute wait:
- Peter Pan's Flight
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Rock n Roller Coaster

Best to hit these first thing in the morning or with FPs.

Well, I've been ever other year. 2006, 2008, 2010. We've gone in 1st week in Nov, last week in October and 2nd week in November.
The longest ride I waited for during the 3 trips was Jungle Cruise at 45 minutes in 2008(sign said 30 minute wait). I fashion myself a Fastpass Afficionado(horn toot here). I'll run around the park with the family's tickets in order to reduce wait times. The mad sprint to TSM at rope drop is a funny sight to see.
Some rides I won't wait for w/out a FP(Soarin, TT, TSM, PP) unless I get to the park very early or the waits are 30 minutes or less.

30 minutes is a good wait anytime of the year for the most popular rides. There have been days we would have been thrilled to see 30 or even 40 for the standby line.:)
We went December 15th thru 22nd last year and it was fine until our last two days and it became really crowded. But the trips we do in the summer are crowded also but the December weather is a nice perk when you are standing around in line. I don't think we ever broke a sweat! Very nice!!!

we've gone the last 4 years either starting the sunday after thanksgiving or the first week of december (each of the trips were for a week each) and although the crowds are getting busier each year it's still pretty quiet. i think the thing that really makes it seem busier than it is at that time of year is having mk close at 7pm multiple times a week to accommodate the christmas party. in the years it's been really cold the parks clear out pretty quick after dark. with the way it's gotten now i'd compare that time of year to early -mid october crowds if that helps.
