Not the thread for everybody...

I was wondering if there was one ride or attraction in WDW that you could TOTALLY scrap (or use the building if you want), take the land, and build something new using the theme of the land as your only guide, what would it be? Remember all of you "I love everything about disney STFU disney is perfect" people, this isnt for everyone.

I'm going to the Magic Kingdom and taking out the Tomorrowland Speedway. I think its VERY dated and doesnt just need a referb, but an overhaul. Esp for vistors not from florida comming during the summer, standing around all line to sit in a hot car and go puttering around while getting slammed not only by the thick guiderail, but by the 9 y/o punk behind you who is just aiming to make your gocart your coffin.

What I think the land of tomorrow is missing is a ToT like attraction. Something that launches you into the air, pulls you out of it, or both. Maybe call it the tomorrowland towers, the homes of the future. But then again maybe thats too much of a rip off of ToT and going to your guest room. But you could always walk in, get a tour of a model home, then go up to see what an active bedroom looks like, but somethings wrong with the automated personal transportation vehicle of the future use to transport you everywhere from home to around town. The prototype goes bonkers and you go on a wild ride in, on, and around every floor.

You could even have an overhead walkway so that people from Cosmic Rays can sit and watch a certain part (or parts) of the attraction through a 1 way mirror (or just to give them somewhere to sit and eat b/c god knows there isnt enough chairs in that building). It could also allow those not ready to ride a glimpse into the attraction (kind of like it's a small world, i was amazed the haus allows you to see right into the ride, it made me want to eat there all day, but of course the chairs were all taken by the plexiglass window).

....just my two pennies....

As much as I love thrills, I'd actually prefer to reinstate World of Motion over Test Track, mostly for selfish nostalgic purposes...

And that's all it is. Because M:S is a great ride. It just needs a complete pavilion built around it to make it complete.

The Speedway has to go, or has to be completely overhauled.

I don't think M:S is a great ride at all, not bad but definitely not great in my opinin. I do agree that they could do a whole lot more around it such as entire space themed pavillion or something similar - however as it sits it is nothing special to me.

As for the Speedway, we can agree on that for sure!!!

Pioneering the Universe Within!
I'm with you all on the Speedway and SGE. My worry would be that they would create a new totally out of place Pixar attraction in its place, though.

I'm shocked quite honestly on how many people are with me on dumping a Disney attraction (b/c many WDWmagcians are all into keeping the nastalsia alive, keeping the basics, etc)

I agree with you that they need a pavilion, HOWEVER with that being said I LOVE the mission space ride, could you please elaborate on your dislike? I could see people spiteing it b/c they liked whatever was there before (sorry im too young, i remember the building, but not the housed attractions). But I think they REALLY did a great job creating a realistic space ride (unlike space mountain...but i love that ne ways)

LMAO soooo true. So sad, but sooo true!

Cmon now, not one but TWO stitch attractions in the same area! They better bring back AE (after watching the old queue video and show with SIR, i want it back better then ever). I promice to the Disney gods I will NEVER skip it EVER again no matter how long the line!!!

I absolutely love Tomorrowland and hated to see the "New Tomorrowland" from '98(?) leave us.

I thought it was extremely well done with the whole Interplanetary Convention Center but no they had to put in attractions that were (too) family friendly and risk theming ie:Monster's Inc.

I just personally think Tomorrowland needs a huge revamp.

And I agree that M:S could use a pavillion around it just for a little addition

Bulldoze MTTF(keep the Barnstormer, good for tiny ones to start on) and there's a whole stretch of land to build something big on.:king:

I'm neutral on The Speedway. I'd need to know what would replace it before I say bulldoze it.

I love the Speedway! I think it's one of those rides that is so bad that i find a certain novelty in it. Maybe this is what others see in IASW.

I would axe Stitch's GE, it's a ride i will never ever go on again.

Bring back AE! Maybe that will be my generations Horizons :p.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Well, it seems to be almost everyone's opinion...
Get rid of the Speedway!
It's loud, smelly, boring, and could house two GOOD attractions.

M:S is great...and the speedway really does need to go!

Personally, I think the old WoL building should be knocked to the ground and not be used as a convention center. It used to be my favorite pavilion, but it will never be anything but a shell of its former glory now.

Give us a new health-related pavilion!! Perhaps the Viagra people will sponsor it, they certainly seem to sponsor everything.

And for those who think this wouldn't be family-friendly, you forget how we get families.

Which is why we need the pavilion back:sohappy:
