Not happy with Frozen Ever After?

They, well universal, built a while Harry potter world part 2 faster than they rethemed this ride. The decision may have been hasty, but that is about it.

You really think Hogwarts express, Daigon Alley and Escape from Gringots were built in less than a year?

While I still miss Maelstrom, I have to say after watching the video that Disney did a pretty good job with this. Worth the 2 year closure? I'll hold off on that until I actually ride it....which could be years down the road looking at the lines in those photos.

I mentioned in the main thread about Frozenstrom that I am NOT a fan of Frozen, but that I hoped the AA technology used on the ride was on par with what is going to be used at Pandora, and hopefully SWL and TSL after that. The AAs looked so articulate, the movement so smooth-excellent work by WDI. It makes me hopeful that all three new lands are going to be better than we thought-at least the AAs, anyway.

They did a great job! It's just the content that is bad for me. Not a Potter fan at all.
Ahh... I was talking about the themed land. And assumed that what you were referring too. My apologies!

I guess my original point is they had a year and a half of down time plus pre-planning. Therefore I'm not sure we can say that the frozen ride is hastily put together. There was nothing hasty about it and I expect a great ride.

I kind of get what you mean though. I was expecting more. I don't know, I've seen them to amazing attractions, and I feel like it was shoehorned in. Don't misunderstand me, it is very good for a re-theme of a previous ride and the AAs are awesome, but I think this was a "inexpensive" way for Disney to draw people to Epcot. Maybe if I had not previously rode Maelstrom, I wouldn't notice that the same track and queue were used. I kind of wish Disney had just gone the a home run instead of a double base.
Disney cheaped out by re-purposing Maelstrom, but it doesn't mean it's a double.

The failure was not adding Frozen in addition to Maelstrom. You can argue that all day long and I'd agree with it.

However, I think you (we) need to actually experience it before you (we) call Frozen anything at all. Saying it's a double without riding it is just proving your bias that Disney can't produce great attractions with a re-theme.

I do hate the concept of using existing ride systems to re-purpose attractions, but you have to take Frozen as a completely new ride. Being upset Maelstrom is gone and they re-themed is separate.

I think Frozen can be an A quality ride despite how it arrived.

I have only seen the video and I was hugely impressed. Massive amounts of AA's and special effects. Very deeply themed and it looked like fun. If everyone would just get over where it is located and transport themselves from 1982 to the present time, it is a great ride and a great looking queue. But, of course, that is not enough for many people still clinging to the past. As far as I am concerned, since I was there 4 months after EPCOT opened and have thought of Epcot as my favorite park both with the old and with the new, I'm going to just ignore the negative Nellie's and enjoy my life. Life is short, smell the roses and walk past the dead ones.

Umm.. I actually have ridden the ride so I think I can adequately judge this ride based on my experiences. Personally, I'm not upset that Maelstrom is gone (sorry guys) but what I was trying to say is that, people who have never been on Maelstrom will not find fault with the queue or even notice that the ride track is very similar.
Umm...OK. Didn't know you rode it.

My point was that several people have already deemed it disappointing without riding it and are influenced by the fact the track was re-purposed.

I'm not talking about you now, but many are going to ride this already thinking it's "meh" based on a video and also upset they removed Malestrom, reusing the track.

Bottom line, if you go in with those preconceived ideas (which many already have), you will definitely be disappointed.
