Not happy with Frozen Ever After?

Just skipped around the video going through the ride. Actually was pretty cool. One part did go a little over board with the amount of screens used, but as a whole, I thought it looked pretty cool. Maelstrom wasn't bad, but really, nobody was ever in line for it and it really needed some major renovations. This will bring in the crowds (obviously) and it looks pretty cool as well.

Disney cheaped out by re-purposing Maelstrom, but it doesn't mean it's a double.

The failure was not adding Frozen in addition to Maelstrom. You can argue that all day long and I'd agree with it.

However, I think you (we) need to actually experience it before you (we) call Frozen anything at all. Saying it's a double without riding it is just proving your bias that Disney can't produce great attractions with a re-theme.

I do hate the concept of using existing ride systems to re-purpose attractions, but you have to take Frozen as a completely new ride. Being upset Maelstrom is gone and they re-themed is separate.

I think Frozen can be an A quality ride despite how it arrived.
Please ignore "my" previous post. Someone thought it would be funny to post their own opinions using my account. I apologize for this.

I mentioned in the main thread about Frozenstrom that I am NOT a fan of Frozen, but that I hoped the AA technology used on the ride was on par with what is going to be used at Pandora, and hopefully SWL and TSL after that. The AAs looked so articulate, the movement so smooth-excellent work by WDI. It makes me hopeful that all three new lands are going to be better than we thought-at least the AAs, anyway.
now if they can just get that darn yeti working again...

I think my wife and I are the only two people with little girls who haven't seen Frozen. That being said, if we haven't seen the movie by the time we go, would the ride still be enjoyable?

I never rode Maelstrom, so I can't speak to the quality of the physical experience of the ride itself, but the Frozen ride is mostly just a collection of dioramas with characters from the movie. It doesn't tell the story like The Little Mermaid ride does, so to get the most out of it you'd probably want to be familiar with the characters already.

I presume you've heard all the music (impossible to not have heard it by now), and have seen previews, clips, and other snippets of the movie. I also presume you've read quite a bit about the movie on the internet.

Given that, yes, I feel that it can be sufficiently enjoyed by an entire family, even without seeing the movie.

Look, the effects were pretty good the theming was pretty good. But after watching the ride POV I was not very happy. I felt that the way they told the story out of order didn't make sense and yes I know that it's going to help grab attention to the park and everything like that but, after watching this ride POV it just made me miss Melstrom even more. I know a lot of people like Frozen and I respect that but, I just didn't enjoy watching this ride.

Out of sequence ? You must not have been paying attention. Its not a linear re-telling of the story, your first clue should have been actually listening to the rock troll.

It has trolls, snow, puffins and Norwegian architecture in some of the buildings, I think it gives me as much information about Norway that the Maelstrom did, lol. I think it looks cool and can't wait to ride it but more importantly was checking out Epcot wait times since the ride has opened. Although it won't stay this way forever I noticed last night that Soarin and Test Track were at 25 minutes while Frozen was at 130. I will happily take Frozen in the World Showcase if I'm walking on all the other rides in Epcot.

We can discuss things and give opinions of course, but I don't think it's reasonable to give a final assessment on an attraction if you haven't been on it.
Lots of people come on these threads and give opinions based on nothing, with no real concept of, or interest in, having an intelligent conversation.

Oh my! I would suggest you see the movie. It is a good movie really. I like the songs, especially. My favorite character is Olaf. His quote about love is the most wonderful... " Love is putting the needs of others before yourself". I don't think I quoted it exactly, but Olaf's enthusiasm and love for life is contagious IMHO. The ride will make more sense if you see the movie. Pop some popcorn and enjoy!:joyfull:
