Not Another Space Mountain Thread

kcnole - thanks for that bit of info. While I truly enjoy Space Mtn, it is my wife's absolute favorite ride in WDW. We're going for a week in November (7-14) so I guess while there is a chance it'll be back up in time for our trip, it's highly unlikely.

Well, we also are planning another trip for the following Feb/Mar timeframe and then again in October of 2010. Hopefully that'll make up for it if she misses out on her favorite in November.

I wouldn't plan on riding Space Mountain until your October 2010 trip...at least from the info I've been given. Maybe you'll be lucky an catch it in April for soft openings, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I must have missed the memo that makes the reading of all threads compulsory

I missed the memo about confusing people who are interested in the topic with the need for multiple threads for the same topic. A simple "Space Mountain rehab news/info/discuss" sticky would be some nice tidying up and very useful is all I'm saying.

I take it that would have to be a closed thread sticky or youd still end up wading through 101 drift issues, even If I promise not to post. :animwink:

True but the first post could always be updated by Steve to make sure at lest the most relevant/important info is easy to find.

I'm sure that the 101 drift issues might include: Is catfish better than swordfish? Is Screamscape reliable? How do I get my boyfriend back? Which shadow is the winter one and which is the spring one? Can I use a debit card on SM? Will I get my false teeth back from SM? etc.

Maybe its just me, but between the tone of the original post I and the purpose itself, I find this thread to be both redundant and unnecessary. Like the OP said, there are countless [active] threads already on this forum that have all of the information he is asking for.

Maybe I see things a little differently, but I don't really find the point of creating a new thread to summarize the others because he is tired of reading them in bulk.

I, along with others could likely write pages upon pages regarding this upcoming refurbishment, but personally, I wouldn't do it again considering how vocal I've been in the other threads. To go ahead and retype everything just seems to be a tad too much when the answers are clearly posted in multiples throughout the rest of the forum.

I figure that if he (or others) don't want to read all of the threads as a whole, then the search feature would come in handy--thats what it is there for.

But then again, I don't have a problem with Project Tracker style threads as they have on other forums, but the point is to keep all discussion, updates, news and rumors on one thread. Creating a new thread seems to be pointless considering this poster calls for facts when nothing is fact until it is completed by Disney and open to the public. Sure, we've posted rumors and news based on what we've heard, but again, nothing is definite until you see it fleshed out when the ride is open again.

I hope this doesn't come off as a flame or attack, but I've just gotten to a point where I wonder why someone would start a new thread because there are too many threads for the same topic. I'm happy to share what I know, like others, but as much as I love posting at WDWMagic, I can't bring myself to post the same information in quadruples just because one person grew tired of reading...
