Sounds like someone was inspired by the "Winter Summerland" mini-golf course which shares its parking lot with Blizzard Beach.

Maybe the person who sent it to me was confused, and it would actualy be in Winter-Summerland. That would clear up any confusion as to how it would be maintained. If it were placed in Blizard Beach, I suppose they could heat the que so that everyone is nice and dry by the time they get on the actual ride. Throw in a few preshows that everyone has to stand through... I dunno, I'm asking the person for more info but getting no response.

The basic premise for the ride isn't all that "out there", when you consider that they have the equipment as one post reminded us, and Disney has already produced animated features with Mickey & Co. in Christmas roles, so the religion thing wouldn't be a problem. After all, it is hard to find Santa Claus mentioned in the Christmas story in the bible.

Blizzard Beach is hard to swallow as a location, because wouldn't numbers be down during the cooler winter months?

I have no doubt in my mind that an animatronic ride could go into BB, because I remember hearing about a ride at a water park with animatronic dinosaurs and you ride through the cave in a raft and there is a big drop at the end. However the liklyhood that interactive guns are involved are slim because I doubt Disney would but a non-water ride in a water theme park. I could see them having a ride with Santa at BB if it includes their Aligator mascots. If Disney could find a way to water proof the guns then we are talking about a seriously cool ride.

I think this idea doesn't make much sense. Why they will mix a water park with animatronics? I mean, people goes to them to have a good time under the sun and splash when hot, not to ride and indoor attraction, plus if this idea is exactly how it was said, visitors would need to dry before entering this ride, making it very uncomfortable since when you visit Water parks it takes some time for you to dry yourself and CMs would need to check if everyone if dry enough so as to be safe of any electrical damage, and people will be forbidden to ride it if wet, will get angry and end of story. YOU SEE: I haven't even ride it and I don't like it!

Slight correction...

The Buzz Lightyear equipment from Chicago is bumper cars with Canons built into them. The cars roam on the floor sweeping up foam soccer balls. THe rider loads a ball into the canon and trys to fire it at the other cars' target...thus disabling the car for a breif monent (the car that was hit spins around). It's kind of a cross between tag and traditional bumper cars.

Nothing like this "Rumor".

Disclaimer: I cannot promise any feasability to this. I received this information in an E-mail and thought it might be interesting to post.

"North Pole Adventure
A dark ride about Christmas? No, not exactly.

This colorful, lyrical dark ride proposed to be placed in Disney's Blizzard Beach by 2006 takes visitors on a magical journey to where Santa Claus and his helpers are preparing for Christmas.

The North Pole Adventure would utilize the same ride, game and target-shooting concept that has proven so successful in Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, but with a twist. Instead of shooting at the bad guys, visitors are invited to help two children --- Snowflake Sally and Winter Willie ---and their dog, Weezer, find the North Pole and Santa's workshop.

This cartoon-style ride would be geared towards younger children but would provide equal enjoyment for their parents and older siblings. The targets in North Pole Adventure would all be attached to inanimate objects, such as tree trunks, a toy chest, a lamp and an ice floe. The magic pistols shoot with a musical arpeggio, not a gunshot sound. Hitting a target either helps you find the way to Santa or reveals special gold-wrapped Christmas presents which give you bonus points.

Planned are many interactive animals throughout the 13 concepted scenes of the ride . . . bears, rabbits, raccoons, penguins, owls and walruses. They pop out from behind trees, logs and ice formations, holding signs, point north, saying: "Thatta way!" and wishing you Merry Christmas.

Animatronics bring Santa Claus to life in this adventure game. As in Space Ranger Spin, each ride car is equipped with a scoring console, making the ride a game, which encourages repeat ridership.

This interactive magical adventure isn't just for children, but when seen and experienced through a child's eyes it makes Santa's smiles even brighter."

I don't know what to think of this... I find it doubtful that DIsney would put a darkride in a waterpark, but it does seem to be something Disney would try. What do you guys think?

:p

disney putting a permanent religious dark ride at a water park that is seasonal?

BTW, thought you guys would appreciate knowing that this so called "insider" was an absolute liar. This is really a Sally Corp dark ride, and it HAS ben built in the Philippines and China. Tale a look at the link, the "insider" didn't even attempt to change names:

Yeah, but you've got to realize that back in '02, this site was dedicated to Sally Corp dark rides. The "insider" was a high ranking Elf within Sally Corp's Toy Ride division. Sometime later, the site changed its name to WDWMagic, and we were all instructed to take the new "Disney" topic, run with it, and pretend that the dark, chilly Sally Corp years would never be spoken of again. And now this thread has been bumped, and eight years of cover have been blown. I will not go back to analyzing why the icicles in the South Pole room were so opaque and how every "clever" comment on the forum made reference to "yellow snow". No, I won't do it again.

Geeeez... old!

I was misled, obviously... we also gotta examine the fact that I was only 15 when I posted that and was definitely more gullible.

Why do people keep bumping my old old old threads? This is like twice in a month lol.

The only thing that's religious about Santa is that the concept of Santa is based upon an event in the life of Saint Nicholas. Other than that, the fact that he comes on Christmas eve means absolutely nothing. Santa is a secular thing and a bastardization of the Christmas (Christ's Mass) holiday.
