Just got a weather update from WNBC channel 4 in NYC. The snow has tapered off considerably now, its down to flurries up here. BUT, apparently we are going to have periods of snow during the night, and, then heavy snow fall again in the morning, north and east of the city will have BLIZZARD LIKE CONDITIONS again with even MORE accumulations!

They showed the 'revised' accumulations map. Anything that was hot pink was 18-24 inches...guess who's "in the pink"?

 and I'm home alone with the girls. ]

Stay safe.

Oh, just FABULOUS!

News 4 again...just minutes ago, a NEW BLIZZARD WARNING was issued for the ENTIRE NY TRI STATE AREA!

"The TRUE blizzard will start developing within the next few hours..."

3 or 4am will start this fun fun fun time, and by the morning light we will be seeing wind ghusts of up to 50 mph! Right now this blizzard is off the coast of Atlantic City. Had I not cancelled my trip there today, I would probably be stuck down shore till March!

edited to add: They have also extended the PINK BAND (14 to 24 inches) for the ENTIRE TRI STATE REGION! Oh, and theres now a coastal flood warning. Donnie, be careful!!

Mad, I think you are also in the PINK BAND! Maybe we need to invest in a few Huskies and a nice big sled

Why can't FLA get cold and have a cold ftont or low give us "small" amount of snow... heck it would make news all over America... FLA gets snow....

(enjoy it... I hear it is "Fun" to drive through....)

About two feet here...the strong and heavy snowbands should be coming in soon (5 inches per hour).

This storm could rival the "Blizzard of '78" that goes down in Boston folklore.
(The only relief about this one...it happened on a weekend...whereas the one in '78 was right in the middle of rush-hour traffic.)

Up here we have hurricane force winds...which are causing some MASSIVE snowdrifts. All in all...this is a mess.

If you like snow...you'd be in heaven. (Although, this is the dangerous stuff).
A full moon is out so the risk of flooding is "severe."

Stay safe Brian!

We have a little more than a foot here. Its still snowing and still blowing... its about 14 degrees. The town snowplow made a mistake and plowed the road last night (I live on a private road) so thats some help for us for later. Poor dog sunk in the snow and had a little trouble taking care of business this morning. Its so quiet not a person/car/plow in sight.

Thanks...will do :)

A snowplow couldn't find a road here...and hit a fire hydrant...so you can imagine how fun it is here.

In all of my years of living here...I've never seen it like this.

I woke up and it looks absolutely beautiful. I love deep snow with more snow falling.

Yes, the rian did turn to snow overnight, and we have about 6-10 inches. However, it is crazy windy here on the island, and another unique problem we have is coastal flooding, and the bay, which is frozen, is coming into the streets from through the sewer systems instead of its normal mode of just pushing up and over.

So the snow on the road is a flooded, slushy, floating mess. But I love it.

You're hearing it here...

In New England...if the Patriots/Steelers game was to be played in Foxboro...it would have been cancelled today...BECAUSE OF SNOW!

(Did you ever think SNOW would stop a Pats football game???)

Well, when we're in a state of emergency, I guess it's reason..HMPH!

We have 15 inches of snow on the ground and the sun is starting to come out. It is only 16 degrees so the snow isn't going anywhere. Time to start digging out :(

I just got some great pics of Times Square in the snow since I had to come to work today. I'll post them when I get home tonight.
