Non-sticky Sunscreen?

Random question...but we're getting ready for our trip at the end of July and know we'll need to pack sunscreen. This will be a Disney first for us since we typically travel in fall/winter/early spring when it's not as much of an issue. Does anyone have suggestions for a sunscreen that isn't sticky and oily? Neither of us can stand the thought of feeling like that all day, especially when it will be hot, crowded and uncomfortable from the start!

Thanks!

I suggest getting the spray on Sunscreen...I use the Coppertone Sport spray and it's great. Goes on super quick, drys fast and doesn't leave a sticky residue..plus, it saves a lot more time than having to lather on the actual cream!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch suncblock. It is a bit more expensive than most brands, but worth it to me because I also HATE the feeling of sunscreen. I can't even tell when I have this stuff on. I also have very senstive skin that most sunscreens irritate, but this does not bother me. I love it.

me too!

I second spray on sunscreen. I have used coppertone and another brand I can't remember and it is great! Not greasy, quick on, and I always bring it with me to reapply and it is really convenient! Just don't apply it until you are outside of your room because it has a wierd odor and it aggrivated my asthma...

I have to second your assertion. I can only use Neutrogena because all other sunscreens I have tried eventually give me a rash. I use the Ultra Sheer Dry Touch on my face and it is the best. I really do forget that I have this stuff on and that is with putting it on extra thick!

I will also second Nutrogenia but if is a little too costly or you can not find it Bullfrog quick gel is also an excellent dry sun screen.

I 3rd (or 4th? 5th?) this. Though I would suggest if you have sensitive skin to stay away from the ones with "Helioplex." I believe they are the high number ones, SPF 70 or so, which you don't really need anything that high anyway. The one with Helioplex irritated my and my brother's faces. We have very sensitive, very pale skin. I always choose oil-free sunscreen at least for my face, it makes a huge difference in the way it feels as well as preventing any irritation afterward.

The spray stuff is good too, but you need to be careful with it. It seems to be easier to miss spots with it (at least for me.) I tend to use a regular, cream based sunscreen in the morning and use the spray for touch-ups later in the day.

Exactly what I use as well. You beat me to it. :)

For a less expensive option, try Coppertone's Oil-free sunscreen. It's like putting on lotion - not sticky at all and it provides good protection from the FL sun.

Spray on Coppertone Sport all the way, it's all I will use, because I can't stand that greasy feel. This stuff dries in minutes, and you can barely feel it.

I fifth or sixth the Neutrogena Ultra Dry sunscreen. Love the stuff. I do use the one with Helioplex because it provides good UVA protection. (The "SPF" rating only counts UVB and while you burn from UVB, you age and do damage to the skin itself from UVA.) Not all the sunscreens on the market have ample UVA protection, so it's something to make sure and double-check. UVA protection is also important for me personally as I have a condition called PMLE (polymorphic light eruption) which basically means I'm allergic to UV light; specifically the UVA spectrum.

Anyway, I like the Neutrogena a lot and find I don't burn when I use it. They also offer it in a spray form as well.

Another vote for Neutrogena  I recently tried the new Aveeno sunscreen and amazingly only needed to apply it once during the entire day and didn't get burnt. It had a bit of a heavier feel to it (moisturizer or something) than the Neutrogena though, so I still prefer that brand.

You just need to be super careful that you don't miss a spot. It happened to me so now I just use the oil free coppertone lotion. DH likes the spray, but to make sure he has me do the spraying with him standing.

Another fan of the spray. I use whatever "active" or "sport" spray is on sale.

I just went and looked at the three assorted cans I have laying around here and while none say "helioplex" all are SPF 30 and all are "Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB" for whatever thats worth.

We are kinds of loose with it, just sort of spray a cloud all over you. Works for us :D

Let me tell you...I worked in a waterpark for almost ten years, and I could not have survived without this stuff. The Bullfrog Quick Gel is my recommendation...
